The food here is excellent and the servers are attentive. The ambiance is casual but also somewhat lively.

The restaurant opened about a month ago and it has not disappointed us yet. The food is very good and the service has been excellent so far. The margaritas are top notch, the table side Guacamole is excellent. The variety of dishes are great and the portions are the right size. They do a Chorizo & Chicken Fajitas are spicy but not too bad. Overall being able to walk to the location from convenient street parking is awesome. They don't give you enough rice and beans as a side for your dish and upcharge you for everything they can. This restaurant is in nice location and the building is nice and clean. Unfortunately, the service and food are nowhere near as good as their other location. The staff here all look unhappy and it shows in their service. They all stand at the host stand using their phones. While writing this, there are four staff members using their phones next to our table. I ordered street tacos, Carne Asada, and they were not good at all. I think I'm spoiled after being stationed in California for the past 4 years, but the meat was dry, tough, and unseasoned. I hate wasting food, but I could only eat one of three tacos. The portion sizes are good though and my kids enjoyed their food. The one note my 11 year-old said was his bun for the burger was unnaturally sweet. He ended up taking the bread off. We were there last night around 5ish, which turned out to be optimal timing as 30 minutes later there were at least a few dozen people waiting for a table. The food was outstanding. We had the street tacos which we each customized to one meat, I had chicken and my husband had carnitas. I can say that mine was the best chicken street taco I've ever had. My husband agreed his were excellent as well. The margaritas were good. The chips were very good and they replenished them easily. Also we liked the salsa. I had a great experience at this restaurant. I had great service, my food didn't take long to come out. I was very shocked when it did because when I go to Mexican restaurants it usually takes a while when they've got a good crowd. My food was pretty good too just wish the meat was seasoned a bit more but that's just my preference. I really enjoyed my drink as well, definitely getting what you pay for with alcohol! The service was very good, and the people who worked there were very friendly. It is for that reason that I gave them two stars. The food was terrible. Our family had burritos, fajitas and flautas. One of the burritos I had (I ordered Burritos de Lujo) had ground beef in it, which was disappointing. The chicken in my burrito and my son's flauta did not taste good, at all. His beef flauta at least had shredded beef in it, and wasn't too terrible. My husbands fajitas were not great either. Their guacamole had very little flavor, and the beans had no flavor. What a joy! It's a brand new place, the decor is not the standard cheesy stereotype and everything seems clean and well-maintained. They are well staffed with plenty of folks on the service team. The menu was extensive and made choosing difficult. I ordered Arroz Texcana (unsure owhich was grilled chicken, beef and shrimp with a delicate queso sauce all served over flavorful rice. The portion, including meat was very generous! My sister had beef chimichangas and was totally impressed as well. The quality of the food was definitely upscale and above average. The chips and salsa were her favorite from any restaurant in the area. Plenty of convenient parking.We will definitely be going back! Went back Jan 12 Sunday for an early dinner. This location was a little surprise at where it was at. I consider this a up scale neighbor hood. Modern and not tacky. Salsa was good an not spicy. The queso dip was microwaved. And was not very thick. We were here with a large group..There were a variety of different dishes ordered.all of the meals flavor wise there were no complaints. And they all came out fast and together.The portion size on the Chimichanga was was small overall.( not the normal appearance you would expect) service was fast and attentive. Everyone was fast, let us have some extra time when we couldn't decide to order, and quick to ask about drink refills. Second, the food was pretty good. We shared the table-side guacamole (so fun and pretty tasty), a specialty fajita, and a tamale. I didn't love the tamale - it wasn't bad just wasn't as good as the fajitas, but everything else we had was great. The fajitas were more than enough to share. It was a mix of chicken, shrimp, and scallops, and there was more seafood than I expected. Plus it was a cute place. You might get a little lost getting there due to being in the middle of a neighborhood shopping plaza but it is worth the visit! Very spacious restaurant with plenty of outdoor seating. I sat at the bar to catch the game and ordered a drink El cantarito. The drink it's self was a nice little concoction and the handmade ceramic cup made the drink even more enjoyable! I wasn't too hungry but still wanted a bit and had the chimichangas one chicken and the other beef tips! Super flavorful and had me so stuffed i needed a to go box! House margarita was bad, the mix tasted like it had sat for too long and needed a new batch. Ordered the sampler - chicken flautas were sooo good, I'm sure these are homemade as I bit into a long thin bone, chicken wings were crisp and hot... on the outside, Frozen and raw centers. The jalapeño poppers were also still cold. chicken tamale came out super hot and looking fabulous, also contained a hair front and center! My Chile Relleno was sooo good! Can not make up for the bad day everyone was having all around and I was deeply disappointed my fave place was also on the struggle bus! However, it took the waitress 10-15 minutes to come and take our drink order. We ordered drinks and they arrived shortly after, but missing a few waters. Also, what Mexican restaurant doesn't have Modelo on draft?! That's neither here nor there for this review. Food orders were placed and came pretty quickly and properly. Food was good. The service part of this restaurant is where my review moved from 4 stars to 2. We had to ask several times for refills or more beers. They would bring one at a time. At one point we had to flag down who appeared to be a Manager to ask where our waitress was and if we could get more drinks. After she took our additional drink order, not our original waitress, we finally got drinks. After post-dinner drinks were finished, we sat there for another 20-30 minutes until we had to go ask that same manager again to bring us our bill. All the while, there were at any given time 6-8 employees standing up near the front just standing around chatting with each other and/or on their phones. When we asked to split the check 3 ways, they said they couldn't. Not a big deal, we used 3 cards and just split it anyway, however, it was yet another inconvenience caused by Plaza Mexico that evening. All in all, food was good, atmosphere good, but service was horrendous and all the employees standing near the front was a really bad look. I'll think twice before going here again. read more

Me and my boyfriend randomly stopped in today because we were hungry and wanted food before we got ice cream. We got the order to go, and when we got home we dived in. The food was terrible. It had ZERO flavor. The rice was even worse. I literally felt like I was eating paper the rice was so bland. I got the birra tacos , which were dry. The sauce made it a tiny bit better, but after 3 bites, I was over it. My boyfriend got there steak and chicken tacos. He said the chicken had no flavor, and he even ate a piece separate before making this comment. We got a quesadilla to split, which looked a hot ass mess. I didn't even try a bite. My boyfriend said it was a little better, but overall the food SUCKED. We threw away all of it. The only thing that was good was their chips and guac and that's why I gave them 2 stars. I went here today with my family. We were seated quickly but we waited for at least 20 min to have our drink order put in. Then another 20 min for someone to come over and ask for our order, which ended up being two separate people taking our orders. Then we sat there waiting for over an hour for our food to come out. Some of us ordered the steak fajitas and instead of having skirt steak, the meat seemed to be similar or maybe it was steak ums. Very very disappointing. Once we finished our order, it took another half hour to clear our plates, then another 20 min to get the check. Needless to say, we will not be returning and I definitely will not be recommending this place to anyone. The only decent thing I will say is that the wait staff and hostess were friendly. read more

We're new to the area and were in search of good Mexican food. The Frederick County Take Out group on Facebook had a number of recommendations for this place, so we thought we'd try it out for takeout (since everything is still doing takeout due to COVID-19). Their website has a very easy order online process and our food was ready at the time it was promised. I definitely want to go back when the dining room is open as it looks like a fun place to be. The food was very good. We got carne asada tacos, a chicken quesadilla, a chicken chimichanga, chips & salsa, churros, & a margarita to go. Portions were very good, everything came with rice & beans. The large chips and salsa was large enough that we will be eating it for a couple of days. The churros came with chocolate sauce and ice cream and were perfect. We will definitely be back! read more

I came here for my birthday last week and I enjoyed it! I wanted to try it out since I heard from a friend it was a good place to go to. My parents ordered the tacos and I was pleasantly surprised that they were not the "American" tacos we're used to. They didn't have the extras like sour cream and cheese and all that stuff that isn't authentic. I'm not saying it's a truly Mexican restaurant, it's not but it was good. I enjoyed the margaritas as well. I got chicken and steak fajitas that were tasty and more than enough food. The only thing I regret not trying was the table side guac. We figured it would be a little more expensive and didn't know if it would be worth it or not. I would definitely recommend trying it out! read more

I was seated immediately after I arrived. It took a while, however, before my waiter showed up (I was one of only 6 tables there). I ordered the Chili Rellenos, which is my favorite. I started with the table side guacamole. It was well prepared, but absolutely no conversation or smiles. The salsa was way too heavy with cumin - it overwhelmed all the other flavors. The rellenos were disappointing - all beef, no cheese and the pepper was way too crunchy. There was no egg coating. Just a poblano broiled with ground meat tossed on top. Beans and rice were fine. No follow up - never asked if I needed more soda or anything else for that matter. I am hoping the experience was because they are new. There is potential, but they need to iron out some issues. Great addition to our area. Quite a drive for us, but we happily drive and enjoy our food coma. The guacamole is to DIE for. Consistently great quality, ripe avocado used. Perfect amount of seasoning/acidity. Cheese dip is the nice white creamy cheese. My husbands staple is the chori pollo fajita - loves it. Mine is chimichangas. The chicken isn't dry (which in a fried chimichanga it usually is) and I love it. We've been numerous times before quarantine, ordered takeout and Grubhub delivery during, and have been back for their outdoor seating since. Quality has never wavered. Also my husband loves the fried cheesecake desert (I wasn't a huge fan of their flan, but I will look passed it as I never have room for desert when I leave). If you love mexican, go.
