This man has no conscience, no ethical compass, and does business dirty to make a profit. He is unhinged, condescending, and worships money over service, professionalism, and honesty. My child is autistic and is a Regional Center client. Lucile Cowle, also under Daland Swim School, said that they would create an account with a 3rd party payer so that they could be directly paid by the 3rd party vendor with the Lanterman Regional Center. I started communicating with Lucile Cowle Swim School on March 5, 2025. It is now July 2026 (16 months later), and I have finally been reimbursed after countless calls and emails. The only way that I was paid for adaptive swim lessons was to bypass LC completely, and Aveanna 3rd-party payers conducted a full investigation to unpack their numerous lies. Dealing with this unethical company was so traumatic and all-consuming. Aveanna had to create an internal memo to no longer deal with this company because they would often refuse to respond, say they already did without turning in the necessary paperwork, and they never responded to the Lanterman Regional Center. My Lanterman Regional Center worker constantly reached out to LC/Daland Swim School, and their statements about when they responded do not align with any of the paper trail. They have made it difficult at every turn. Read my reviews. I never posted a single negative review of a business before today. I have never posted a negative review even when the service or good wasn't great because I don't want to damage a business for having an off day. However, this took 16 months of my time, and the executive director, Tarrik Daou was so nasty, condescending, and more fearful of not covering his bases when too many outside parties (not me) came with financial questions than actually providing honest, reputable service or transparent, ethical accounting. I have a long paper trail that can back up every claim I have been as opposed to Lucile Cowle, who can't keep records or even finish setting up a business account for 8 months. This is step 1 of any financial accounting. I just can't in any good conscience recommend this awful institution or Tarrik's narcissistic personality as someone you want to deal with. Please. There are other reputable swim schools who won't lie to you. I don't call people liars easily; in fact, I literally never have before in any business review. I had to come up with a long paper trail and unravel his lies because he's such an expert gaslighter; you want to double and triple-check facts to make sure the accounting is done correctly. Please take your business elsewhere. There are swim schools that actually care about your kids, not just the money that comes with it. If your child has any special needs, please stay away. Being a special-needs parent who must advocate for your child's special needs is hard; why add to your load by constantly having to unravel one vendor's outright lies? Your time is precious, and your child can become an agile swimmer at a swim school that loves children and not just sees an opportunity to financially exploit you.

The lazy river got so crowded it no longer became fun, we had to step aside and wait for the groups to pass by to give ourselves adequate space. It is just the lazy river, kiddie pool and the water playground. I do see why they do half day and only have you there for 3 hours. My son had fun and glad we went but it can be boring at first. The place has good business with nice customers, who care about the place and bring great tennis. Mark always cared about the clients and always had the latest information on racquets. recently I came in on a Sunday to watch my son's League play to find another coach in charge. He instructed the boy at the front desk to wash courts, and the boy responded that he had jeans/close toed shoes on and wasn't dressed for washing courts because he wasn't told in advance that he'd be washing courts. The coach responded, "just roll up your jeans and go barefoot." The coach later instructed another girl to help him, and she replied that she wasn't dressed for it either and didn't have sandals, and that "sometimes there's glass on court." The man dismissed her comment with a sarcastic response and complained about her coworker to her: "he doesn't want to wash courts because he's not dressed for it. can you believe it? All you have to do is go barefoot and roll up his jeans." The courts should be washed more often than OTC does in my opinion, but I believe it's a serious liability for both the company and the employees. I couldn't believe the manager's sarcastic response.......... He didn't care about the safety of his employees!!! And what kind of manager gossips about other employees to others? So unprofessional. It was WAY better when Mark was running the place. If you come to OTC watch out. They should really treat their employees better. I don't know how they can take care of their customers if they don't care about their employees just as well.

The lady working the gym today was such a buzz kill. I am all about following the rules and being safe especially in a climbing environment. We were told two rules at the beginning. Harness and shoes must be worn in rope areas and the bouldering area is off limits to 5 and under and that was changing soon. Icing on the cake was the pretentious tone she gave my young son and I by stating that he wouldn't enjoy climbing as he is being put in a harness. Way to set him up for success by saying a negative comment before he even gets to try it. Remember boulderdash staff what you say around kids they absorb. Words have a huge impact. You might "teach" children in your classes but not all children are the same. I've never been to a climbing gym that a manager can go climb with friends and family for hours. She wasn't supervising who was coming in and out and what was happening throughout the gym. When said manager did decide to come around she was randomly yelling at our kids or us for not doing things she never told us about in the first place. One star for the power trip employee with a negative attitude. One star for the cleanliness of the facility. It could use a deep cleaning. Sanitizer stations would be good. The lady working chased and almost grabbed my child for accidentally walking in the restroom with her climbing shoes to wash her hands. Again I understand it's the rules and we followed the rules given. That was one moment a child forgot and a parent was standing up to stop the child from going in. The gym had plenty of beginner routes and top ropes. Boulder area could use improvements. The weight station is a joke. A few free weights and kettle bells crammed in a corner. Due to the large tree overhanging part of the playground the spongy floor and little kid portion has gotten quite gross quickly. I know it's outside just seems like an oversight as everything looks like it has grown mold. Hopefully there's a cleaning plan in place. It's only been open for 4-5 months. Like I said, we still love coming here and will still come here just an observation.
