I got three estimates for a leak that we have in our backyard. The first company checked the area…read moreand sprinkler system and stated that it's an underground leak probably from one of the pipes and they only do surface sprinkler repairs. The second company also said it was an underground leak and they would need to dig to check the pipes but they couldn't start the job until after the holiday. Todd from Green Life Sprinklers came out checked the area and said he thinks it's an underground leak and it will take him and another guy a couple days to dig to check the pipes out to repair, replace etc. I said no problem, I'm available and that works for me. He then said let me check the sprinklers system first. I showed him the sprinkler system area and he turned on the sprinklers and everything worked. I left him outside to finish working. He ended up replacing our sprinkler Valve solenoid. The leak still continued leaking. He mentioned he guaranteed his work so I messaged him to give him an update that we are still having the water puddling issues. My husband wanted to FaceTime him and ask why he repaired our solenoids when the sprinklers worked fine. Unfortunately Todd said he couldn't take his FaceTime at that time due another job. He agreed to meet with me instead. We meet and he didn't mention anything about checking the pipes underground. He basically said turn off the sprinklers to see if that helps with that area. My concern with that is wouldn't the overall grass start to die if the sprinklers are turned off for too many days. Then he mentioned that our land may be built on a slope where the water runs down and puddles on the opposite side of the yard. I mentioned to him that I lived here for over 15 years and we never had that problem. He proceeded to say that he can add an additional sprinkler head to that area. At this point I was over it and I just let him talk. I knew that I wasn't going to give him any more paid work. He didn't guarantee his work as previously stated and left us unhappy, disappointed and dissatisfied with his service overall. He asked me if he could check the front water meter and I said no thank you but he stated if he come out again there will be a charge and since he's here he might as well take a look. I let him look and I stood there and looked too and nothing came out of that. Unfortunately we are still having the same issue and he didn't put forth any effort to make it right. It's a terrible way to do business and a poor experience. It definitely wasn't worth what we paid him. January 1, 2026. Update: Todd at the end of the day you didn't listen and you didn't fix the issue we hired you for. The area we needed fix is still broken and leaking. We have moved on and accepted the loss of our money we paid you.

We qualified for the DWP's Turf Replacement program and we searched for a company that would work with us to implement our ideas. Mike was a great landscape designer! He took the plans we received from the DWP and enhanced them for our garden. When we needed to make adjustments for additional plants, Mike provided us with several choices and photos which allowed us to make informed decisions. Carlos and his team were great to work with. They were responsive to our questions and requests and even let us know when they were taking a lunch break so we could let the dogs out during that time. Dee came by to check on the project regularly. We have some plants that appear to be struggling. He said they may be in shock (it was over 100 degrees when they were planted) and he wanted to give them a couple weeks to recover. If they don't, he said we should call and they'll replace them. I have absolute trust that they will do so. We're thrilled with our new yard! Next year we plan to do the front yard and will be calling G&L again.
