Food and ice cream is great but service is a complete joke. Be prepared to wait forever. Not just once this is multiple.

Best little ice cream shop in the county. Great prices and fun family atmosphere. Kind of small, but the food is worth it.

We stayed one night in one of the regular rooms. It was really lovely. The room was located on…read morethe 2nd floor and tucked away at the end. The queen size bed was comfortable. There was also a futon couch to sit on. The rest of the furnishings appeared to be antiques. The decor was old fashioned and quaint. In addition to the wall AC which seemed to be new, there was also a stand up fan. (We came on the hottest weekend of the year.) The bathroom was nearly as big as the bedroom area. It was very clean and comfortable. Breakfast consisted of banana nut pancakes, fried ham, a bowl of freshly sliced nectarines, orange juice, and coffee. Two other couples were there and all enjoyed the inn. Curt was a pleasant host. We would definitely come back.

We were traveling home from Niagra Falls, and while perusing the internet for a small town in Ohio…read moreto stay, I happened upon what looked to be a little gem. The pictures on the internet depict a CLEAN AND METICULOUSLY MANICURED little Bed and Breakfast Inn, in the quaint town of Roscoe Village, Ohio. Upon our arrival, we nearly passed it up because it was so overgrown, in terrible need of paint, cleaning on the outside, etc. My husband went up to the door and we were finally greeted by the Host, Curt Rouso, who seemed friendly. He pointed us in the direction, and we pulled up to the carriage house, it was so overgrown with foilage, you could barely see the door. Upon reaching the door, we did see black spiders crawling all over the door. My husband brushed them away and we entered. The room was dark, dreary and we finally found the lights and decided to just use the restroom and go into the city. Well, the city was also a disappointment as most of the businesses were closed at 4:30 on a Friday afternoon. We did however find a nice little coffee/wine cafe and had a drink and a cheese plate. The bartender was a very nice man and we enjoyed some bantering with him. He told us to go into the city of Coshocton that night as they were having their 1st Friday festivities. We decided to give that a try and went back up to our room to get ready. Upon re-entering the room, we had the fan on and turned on the air-conditioner and the room filled with a very musty smell. I, being a person that suffers from terrible allergies, knew that we would never be able to stay and then, the crowning blow came as I went into the bathroom and black ants were crawling up the wall! My husband went up to Curt and informed him this place was not going to work out for us. He did not want to hurt his feelings and offered to pay him $50.00 for any trouble as we had used the bathroom. Curt informed him that he would be charging us $140.00!! My husband said that he quoted us $125.00, and Curt said that was if we stayed two nights, which was never the agreement. I told him one night and he quoted me $125.00. I returned home and sure enough, he had charged us $140.00 on our credit card. He advertises that he does business with church groups I think to instill a sense of honesty in him and his establishment! It is nothing as it appears!!!! Stay away from this place and save yourself any heartache and overcharges that you may incur!!!!!

Coming back for a second visit over Memorial Day weekend honestly confirmed everything I thought…read morethe first time around. What started in January as a random stop traveling back from Florida has quickly turned into one of those places that feels impossible to pass up when we are anywhere nearby. This place was busy all afternoon, and honestly, I think that says everything about what Killing Tree has built out there. Great wine, great food, live music, a beautiful property, and a crowd that genuinely seemed happy to be there. It feels less like a winery and more like a community gathering spot. Shannon took care of us this visit and was fantastic from beginning to end. The fact that she remembered me from months ago completely caught me off guard and immediately made us feel welcomed back. That kind of personal touch matters and you can tell the staff truly cares about the experience people are having. The pizza was outstanding, the BLT with turkey added on was piled high, and somehow that bottle of Gosh Dang disappeared way too fast sitting out there in the sunshine. There is just something special about this place. Relaxed, welcoming, beautiful, and incredibly easy to lose track of time at. Already looking forward to trip number three.

BF and I were trying to do everything Amish and local for our Valentine's weekend in Dresden, OH…read moreand we picked this place based on their really nice website. Gotta say, the website was much more impressive than the actual place. This wasn't too far of a drive from Dresden Inn but coming back, we got turned around because of the lack of lights, signage and skinny roads. They have plenty of parking and the string of lights outside was cute. I asked the waitress TWO times whether the sweet potato fries for the sandwich entree was extra and she confirmed TWICE that it was not an extra cost. Welp, upon paying, guess what? It was $4 extra! Just look at my picture to see that like 12 skinny AF fries are NOT worth the extra charge! Their house chips were great. I ordered the brie & jam sandwich and it was filling and delicious. I also ordered a crispy chicken salad and was pretty disappointed at the quality. I abhor cheese shavings on salad (they don't belong on salads!) and there was just mounds of very processed looking cheese. There was not enough chicken pieces for the price, too many croutons, no onion or enough tomato; just cheap lettuce. They don't serve regular glasses of water here. It was all crushed ice! We suspected they were just pre-wine slushies! This was really odd. There's not real wait service but since we sat upstairs, people needed to bring stuff up so I did tip a usual amount. I wanted to experience more of a country, made from scratch type of setting so was not too happy with the very Chilis/Applebee quality and presentation of their food.
