If you're looking to just relax this may not be the best place. I was looking for a local spot to try since the gem I found in Palo Alto was kinda far, so I stumbled on this place after a quick google search. They are very courteous people, but I just wanted to relax and enjoy the massage and calming sounds they put on. Nope, constantly asking questions I felt like it was more of an interrogation. It was questions about my personal life and work. I do not want to talk about that as this is my time . And I don't know how you tell someone that nicely, so I just rolled with it. I do not like to share certain personal things with people I do not know. I tried to be short in my answers in hopes he would figure out that I didn't want to talk, but nope it kept coming. And it is hard to talk with those covers they have on the pillow you rest your face on. The overall massage was okay. I didn't care for it .i think I would've had a better massage at Massage Envy. The mobility movements were good. But I didn't leave feeling like wow I feel so good and relaxed...that's how I felt when I left the Palo Alto spot, so I guess the hunt for a local spot continues. read more

I've been to Pleasanton Massage and bodywork a couple of times and have had a great experience both times. Thai is the owner of the place and does a great job caring for his clients. The massage studio is clean, beautiful calm and serene. Thai even provides water and some snacks for his clients. the massage itself is relaxing and therapeutic. Thai does a great job focusing on the knots and aches to really relieve the tension in tight muscles. He puts a lot of energy into understanding and catering to each client. I definitely felt better and much more relaxed after coming out of the massage. After the massage, Thai took some time to recommend some exercises and stretches to continue to practice at home to help alleviate the muscle tension and tightness. It was appreciated for his recommendations. The locations is a bit hard to find and is a unit within the Phoenix Salon. You'd need to text Thai when you get there and he will open the doors and let you in. He takes his job very seriously and is committed to delivering a great massage and catering it to each customer. I messaged for an appointment and Thai replied quickly. He is professional and courteous. We couldn't work out dates for a couple massage but he was available to see me on short notice. Thai asked great questions about any aches and pains or any sensitive areas. I told him about my neck and shoulder, and about my plantar fasciitis. He took the time to listen and explain patiently, before the massage. The massage was not only relaxing but also therapeutic. He spent time on my troubled areas and any other parts that I didn't know about (my lower back). He asked about the pressure and observed my reactions and adjusted accordingly. (Wow!!!) I have gone to Thai twice. Once with a frozen neck from sleeping wrong and once with a strained trap from working out. Each time I have left with increased mobility and a significantly lower level of discomfort. The thing I love most about Thai versus other massage therapist is that when you tell him what is bugging you, he actually only works on that and related muscle groups and is committed to help you feel better. I'm not even sure if I can accurately describe in words how superb my experience with Jaye was this morning, but let me try. I called last Thursday to schedule The Individual with Jaye (thank you to Thai for all you did to arrange it for me!). I guess they are not normally open on Mondays, but Jaye generously spent the morning of her day off working on me. Even though this was my first time there, she made me feel like such an important customer. After I completed the questionnaire, she spent time going over everything I noted to make sure she understood what my issues were, and she described her game plan for tackling each one. She had wonderful technique and hit all these muscles I'd never had work on before, which I believe is why I felt so good after the massage. Jaye also gave me explanations for my pain and tension and gave me tips on relief I can do at home. She remembered everything we had discussed in during the consult and addressed every probably area. The most amazing part is the amount of extra time Jaye generously gave me because she truly cares about my well-being. Now, I feel like I'm on a cloud, a feeling that I have heard other people describe but have only felt myself once. If I could afford to get massages on a regular basis, I would see Jaye every month. tl;dr - whether it's a relaxing massage or muscle/nerve recovery, Thai is the best masseuse in the Bay Area. Thai has done what 2 physical therapists, other masseuses, and a doctor haven't been able to do - he's saved my entire body from a variety of physical issues. When I first came to him, I was desperate for some relief from my sciatica and cubital tunnel from years of lousy posture and not taking care of myself. I opted for "The Individual" massage with Thai - he confirmed it nearly immediately. The studio (in Phenix Salons) is very calming, extremely clean, and has a perfect ambiance. It's nothing like the sketchy / run down places in South Bay. Thai first has you fill out a professional medical questionnaire, and afterwards asked questions to really ensure that he knows that type of massage is best for you, how much pressure, and what pain areas to focus on. However, there were a few points I didn't touch upon and he even, through the massage, was able to identify that I had nerve damage and muscle knots, and helped calm them greatly. After the massage, he gave me some helpful follow-up advice for posture, as I'm a software engineer and can easily develop a sore back and neck through bad posture. I've gone back 5 or 6 times now since June, and he's consistently been the best masseuse I've ever had. Even after tip, his massages are also a far better deal than the other spas in the area -- I now regularly go to Thai instead of PTs and have felt considerable improvement in my body after every massage session. :) read more

Thai is great! Cares about his clients. I came in with the worst stiff neck, I have ever had yesterday that had been getting worse for 4 days. I requested he focus on my neck and supporting muscles. Unlike most places thats all he focused on and at the end of the hour he asked how it was doing and spent a few extra minutes working on the areas that still bugged be most.
