First things first, I didn't believe in energy work until I stepped into Carolyn's office. I went to Carolyn to try out "ear candling" for the first time, after hearing very positive feedback from several friends who had tried it out, and I can honestly say that it was a really cool experience! I've been seeing Carolyn the last few months, and I must say she is the best muscle therapist / body works practitioner that I've ever been to! And I've seen probably 20+ massage therapists all over the bay area and other places around the world. I came in because I've had chronic muscle tension, fatigue, stress/anxiety, and over the years I had been trying many different therapies to find relief. Since I've started seeing Carolyn my plantar fasciitis, sciatic, and forearm/hand RSI pain have all gone away. My other issues are improving and I'm re-learning how to breathe properly and take time out to relax/meditate, which has also helped improve my energy levels and poor sleep. Carolyn is incredibly kind, caring, and down-to-Earth. She listens to what's going on in your life, and makes you aware how it affects how you feel emotionally and physically. You can tell her what areas of your body are causing you pain/tension and she'll address them. She's so intuitive and such an expert in muscular dysfunction that she can find muscle tension and other areas of your muscles you didn't even know were tense, and in some cases the root cause of the tension you were feeling. She'll also work areas that most therapists won't such as jaw (TMJ) and the front/sides of neck, psoas, intercostal, diaphragm muscles that help make breathing easier. After sessions I'll feel so much more calm and relaxed, and ready to enjoy the day. Carolyn will also offer self-massage, meditation, and breathing exercises you can do at home to release muscular tension, stay calm, and improve sleep. I was referred to Carolyn by my physician to repair a serious back injury from playing tennis. I lead an active lifestyle and have been a competitive athlete all of my life, playing tennis on many competitive teams. I pulled/tore my QL muscle in my back. I couldn't move without serious pain for a few months. I couldn't walk, sit, lift, drive or do anything, but lay in bed. Once I got to Carolyn, she talked to me to see how this injury all happened.
