This was my first visit to their Mass Ave shop. The clerks were welcoming and attentive. There were cake plates and cases filled with fresh cookies and bars. Guests sipped coffee and visited in three small booths on the side. The shop is cute inside. We selected a bourbon blondie bar and a chocolate coconut meringue cookie. The bourbon bar was really good, but I couldn't really taste the bourbon. The chocolate bottom on the coconut cookie was a perfect touch. There is metered street parking early in the day, but spaces grow sparse during noon time. P&TY is a good stop on Mass Ave. read more

Please, Please and Thank You: Add some designated parking spaces in front of your store. Thank you! It's taken me years to visit you, because parking on Mass Ave can be a mess, and I'm not paying for parking just to buy a cookie. I happened to be in the Bottleworks District today, and I was already paying for parking anyway, so I thought it was the perfect day to finally visit Please and Thank You. Upon consideration after tasting the cookies, it might be worth it to pay for parking just to get cookies! The cookies are that good. I guess there's a reason why they are considered the best cookies by USA TODAY 10Best Readers' Choice Awards for the state of Kentucky. Kentucky is where the original Please and Thank You shop is from. We got a few different cookies: a peanut butter sandwich cookie, a chocolate chip cookie, a frosted sugar cookie and a macaroon. All of our cookies were great, but the chocolate chip cookie is transcendent! That might be why they sell tubs of their chocolate chip cookie dough to take home and bake yourself. The cookie that I chose was a macaroon, which I haven't had in years, but it looked so tasty with its chocolate bottom and toasted coconut. It tasted almost marshmallowy because of the toastedness, but it was chewy and moist in the middle. I always forget what wonderful things macaroons are. There are a few other treats besides cookies: a blondie bar, a brownie (gluten-free and regular), a Rice Krispie treat and slices of quick bread. Mostly, though, this is a cookie shop. It's also a coffee shop, but if you're a black-coffee drinker, I would not recommend the house drip coffee. It's very bitter tasted burnt! Not good. It has been a rough winter for this wheelchair user. While I've done fairly decent with reviews, it's been a struggle and I'm really looking forward to seeing those temperatures go up. Today, I needed to visit my downtown office and decided to spend a couple hours on Mass Avenue before heading in. I honestly wasn't aware of Please & Thank You, however, for those of us who are Yelp Elites you simply can't resist a new establishment. Please & Thank You is a bit of a unique chain specializing in both acclaimed coffee and acclaimed cookies. As I don't tend to be a fan of a lot of the other national cookie chains, I was a little resistant here but decided to go for it. If I understand their history correctly, they started in Kentucky and can now be found in Indiana and Kentucky. They also have a kiosk at Gainbridge Fieldhouse and a growing retail presence. You can even get some of their items on Amazon. I parked down the street at a disabled parking meter with an appropriate curb cut. It's not too far of a wheel, though be aware that Mass Avenue is two-lane and you will need to be careful unless you choose to park in either a nearby parking garage or the lot at The Garage Food Hall. Please & Thank You has a definitely vibe to it. It's fairly loud and possesses a slightly naughty snark (for example, there's a bumper sticker for sale that reads "Squeeze and Spank You." If I have a slight beef, and it's probably more with Yelp, it's that the Yelp page indicates Please & Thank You is wheelchair accessible. That's a HUGE stretch. Could I function? Kind of. Sort of. It's a very small space. As you enter, the order counter is right there. To the right, there's a narrow aisle with a couple seats at a counter (probably the closest thing to an accessible area, but definitely not an accessible area). To the left, you have an aisle of small tables - again, definitely not accessible. If there's a crowd, as is often the case on Mass Avenue, accessibility is definitely an issue. Now then, the positives. Employees? Very friendly and helpful. I had a chocolate chip cookie - sublime and not overly excessive. I ordered a large iced coffee and it was wonderful. I paid just over $8 for the two. Loud is intentional and I can't imagine anyone actually working here. There's even a jukebox toward the back. They have some retail options and some cool shirts and bumper stickers. This definitely fits Mass Avenue, however, I can't say this felt like a destination stop for me. If I'm on Mass Avenue, I'll stop in. However, between the parking difficulty and the accessibility issues I'd be hesitant to stop in without having another Mass Avenue agenda. I do also have to say that even the customers were friendly. So, there's definitely a positive culture here. They made sure I could get around and also get out. That doesn't always happen and it's a huge plus. Overall, this was a good experience and I'd sure return when in the area. read more

It's been over a year since my initial review, so I thought it was a perfect time to revisit! I opted for an iced matcha latte for a lighter caffeine boost. First thought- I appreciated that they use a proper matcha whisk and don't use a pre-made matcha mix - the matcha flavor was definitely authentic! I also appreciated that the latte wasn't overly sweet or ice heavy. However, I knocked a star off since the entire bottom of my drink had powder chunks. Yum yum yum! We stopped in Please & Thank You to grab a couple cookies before a concert and were immediately welcomed by the staff. Since we'd never been there before, they were happy to give suggestions and recommendations. I got a rainbow chip cookie and my brother in law had the classic chocolate chip and the oatmeal cream pie. I saw that Please & Thank You was coming to Indy via LinkedIn and then I went on a deep dive. I wasn't sure what day they opened but by some chance I visited on the exact day they opened. I would say I probably wouldn't spend too much time in the store because the set up is not one that is great for hanging out. If you have sensory issues than I would recommend preparing yourself for how loud it is in there. There are small booths and a couple bar seats, if you are interested in hanging out. GREAT new coffee place on Mass Ave. They have really good coffee and espresso. So far I've tried just the black coffee and americano. Both amazing. They have all the standard iced coffee and espresso drinks. What sets them aside is their cookies. Their cookies are amazing. I have had the chocolate chip, the peanut butter cream pie, and the oatmeal cream pie. All delicious. It's at a great walkable location right at the end of mass Ave. Close to bottle works and the Monon trail. The inside is very cosy and has a 1950's diner aesthetic. The staff is super friendly. Stopped in here while strolling down Mass Ave on a Saturday afternoon. I honestly had no idea it was there. When walking in it felt warm and welcoming. There were 3 people working and they all said hello when I walked in. They have a variety of upscale cookies to choose from and a really nice variety of coffee and tea options. There were also other pastries. The name Please & Thank You is very cute and they have lots of items you can purchase with that on it such as sweatshirts, lunch boxes and more. Mass Ave's newest coffee shop is certainly worth the walk away from the bulk of the avenue! Though the location itself isn't super close to the main stretch of shops, it's certainly worth including on the walking loop. It's a smaller shop, so there's not a ton of seating available but the storefront is very clean and bright. Here's what I got: Ganache latte ($4.50, 8 oz): a coffee drink lightly sweetened with chocolate and a marshmallow melting in your drink. I wish the marshmallow were replaced with mini ones as they melt in better. 4.5/5 stars - the big marshmallow can stick to the drink spout of the lid Brownie ($4.25): don't be fooled, it is a rather large brownie for the price and very much worth it. It's very moist with a fudge-like quality and a little salty as well to balance the sweetness. 5/5 stars I appreciate the size range of beverages being as small as 8 oz as that gives you that flexibility of not having to get an enormous beverage. Their menu has a wide variety of specialty flavor types for their coffee as well as non-coffee drinks. They do advertise as not having decaf coffee, so the non-coffee drinks are a plus! There's also a good range of sweets as well, but nothing was a non-sweet type of food item at a glance. Would love to possibly see some more savory items in the future potentially! read more

I've been to the Louisville locations several times and always enjoy it. I was happy to see them come to Indy! I can attest that the cookies are the same and as delicious! Ours even came fresh out of the oven and were warm, hard to beat that! The inside is a bit smaller than the other locations I've been in but it has a small coffee bar area and what looked to be a few other sitting areas/booths for 1 or 2 folks.
