Nonetheless, we walked in and the female owner was meeting with someone else, but greeted us, and we sat down immediately. The waitress was fairly nice. She gave her recommendations after we inquired. I drank water, but my friend had a a drink. She said it was good. My one con is that they didn't have any diet soda products, so water was my only option. Food: samosas as appetizers were okay 7/10, o. soup and pounded yam were 10/10. Very delicious. My friend had fried chicken and jollof rice (I had a bite). The rice was 8/10. Very smokey flavor, but good. The chicken was fried VERY HARD, tough and difficult to eat 1/10. The food didn't match the images on the menu. Review the pictures... The atmosphere was okay 7/10 (see pics) but the place was a bit small. However, the music was good (Afrobeats) with the music videos playing on the huge screens. The bathroom was clean. Overall, since the food I had was so good, I would recommend it. Tried out the new Nigerian/Ghanian restaurant in Laurel. Yaye, Laurel for all the new food spots to try! The inside was decorated nicely, a little small but very intimate feel. Service was pretty efficient and quick. I was not a fan of what I ordered, although I am still learning the basics when it comes to African food. I went with the "fried chicken" and Jollof Rice. The fried chicken was HIGHLY disappointing.. I would encourage to remove from the menu entirely. They were cut into pieces so your essentially paying more for less and extremely dry, like it was fried repeatedly. The Jollof rice was not bad but it did have a smoky flavor that I just personally am not a fan of but I wouldn't rule out the Jollof! My friend a certified Nigerian enjoyed her food thoroughly so that's a great reason to check them out! read more

Meat pies were excellent, drinks were nice and strong, everything seemed clean and the Afrobeats music videos playing on a big screen were a fun touch. I definitely recommend on checking this place out! When I first arrived I wasn't sure what to except and contemplated on coming in. SO HAPPY I did though! FOOD WAS AMAZING !! The dining table and space wasn't to bad, low lighting and great music not too loud. Service was great. I ordered oxtail stew, egusi soup, and chicken, tripe and beef. The portions are not very shareable considering the food is so good. I definitely didn't want to share any of it but I did. Overall I am really happy to say I went home with a full happy belly. Bathroom wasn't to bad although I did get stuck with soap on my hands because I couldn't figure out how to use the handle LOLL embarrassing moment. Thank you so much for the great food ! read more

The vibe is afrobeats mixed with a homestyle eat with comfort setting. We tried goat stew, egusi soup with fufu, cowskin stew, samosas and peanut butter soup. But we paid $80 for a half of bowl of okra soup, and oxtails stew with only FOUR OXTAILS and handful of suya. If you want a good hearty meal for your family and don't plan on eating alone, well this is NOT your place. They're very stingy With portions and an expensive. I dined at this venue for a private group brunch event in March 2025 and had an absolutely horrible experience. The service was poor and the owner / manager was very rude to me and other guests dining during this event. Whenever I asked the owner questions about the food and drink options at the buffet, she responded in rude and defensive manner. The other few staff members were fairly pleasant, however, they were confused and clearly not on the same page with the owner / manager. Among the many issues our group had, one of the biggest issues I had was that guests in our group dining for the event were not given drinking water on the tables at the beginning of the reservation. This is standard protocol at any normal restaurant. Halfway through the reservation an elderly woman who was a part of our group asked me to help her get water. So I went to the bar area, and requested for it on her behalf from the staff. It was only after that point that they gave her water to drink. I then went back a second time to request for water to be served at every table since many people were asking for it. When I made this request, the staff at the bar were confused and were trying to explain the issue to me. I was shocked that this was such a problem for them. I told them I don't need bottled water, just simple cups of drinking water at the tables. They then said something about not having enough glasses, and only having plastic cups. I said while I prefer glasses, the plastic cups are fine. As long as the guests are able to have some water to drink. The fact that this was such a problem, let me know just how unprofessional of a restaurant this is. I was highly disappointed having to pay the amount of money I did for bad food & drinks, poor service, and rude / unprofessional treatment. I would not recommend anyone dine here. read more

Horrible experience--would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. The owner was consistently rude to me and my guests throughout the entire event. Her aggression stemmed from the fact that she agreed to certain aspects of the event that she ultimately didn't want to do--most of which I never even requested. However, instead of addressing this professionally, she took it out on me and my guests. There was absolutely no justification for the way she yelled at us, nor for the harassment and threats I received afterward--including posting my personal information online after I shared my experience on Instagram. She has since spread misinformation about what led to her aggression, completely misrepresenting the situation. Her actions ultimately ruined my birthday. The way she handled this situation only reinforces how unprofessional she is. Reviews about her attitude are accurate, and her behavior is extremely concerning. No one was aggressive toward her, and multiple witnesses can confirm that her claims are false. read more

My pregnant fiancée had a random craving for African cuisine. Since it was so late, finding a place was very difficult, so we went out on a whim and chose to drive an hour and a half to this restaurant. According to the website, they close at midnight on Sundays, so with that in mind, we placed our order and arrived 20 minutes before midnight. After pulling up to the front of the building, we noticed that it looked very dark, as if it was closed. I called the number and asked about our order, and the person who answered seemed very frustrated and rude. She explained to me that she had called multiple times, sent texts, and even emailed me about closing early. Then I realized I had made a mistake when I placed the order - my saved card info had an old number. I explained the situation to them, and initially, they seemed upset because they had already left. However, they were nice enough to come back to the establishment and give us the food. Overall, I'd give the service 4 out of 5 stars. I didn't appreciate the initial tone used when I was spoken to, but I understand how frustrating the situation must have been, especially considering they didn't know how far we'd traveled. As for the food, I'd rate it 3 out of 5 stars. The flavor was lacking, and the portion size was outrageous, the containers were small. Although the containers were decent quality, our order lacked utensils and napkins. We've been to multiple establishments in and around the Philadelphia area and compared to them this establishment is lacking in customer service, quality, food portions, and price. I saw a video review of this restaurant on Instagram that made me want to check it out. When we walked in there weren't any other customers there at the time. We we greeted by a gentleman and given our choice of Tables. He walked away and didn't come back until we called for him. He didn't ask us anything like was this our first time there or went over the Menu or how to even access the Menu (there was a little sign on the Table with a QR CODE to use to pull up the Menu). So we ordered drinks. But again, he never came back to see if we we needed anything. With that WE KNEW IT WASN'T A GOOD IDEA TO STAY THERE TO BE FURTHER DISAPPOINTED. I've had this location twice not realizing it and each time it was a disappointment. My most recent order was a ground nut stew with chicken. My chicken looked like boiled party wings and neither was the soup or chicken was seasoned, it also didn't have much soup mostly chicken and oil. I expected my soup to spicy and it was very sweet. This place is a hole in the wall... not the good kind. I came here to dine in on a Saturday evening around 7pm, normal rush hour for a restaurant. When I walked in, there were only 3 tables being served. Normally I don't judge a restaurant by the amount of people dining in, but perhaps I should've taken the hint. It was also silent in there. Most restaurants would have some background music, elevator music... SOMETHING.. but nope, I was hearing the other 3 tables' conversations. Eventually they put music on a YouTube playlist, but kept changing it every 2 songs. Again, something small and maybe unnoticeable, but I should've taken the hint. I ordered a water to drink, which the waiter forgot to bring and had to be reminded. For appetizers, I ordered spring rolls, mac and cheese, and samosas, but was told they ran out of samosas... fine. They said the Mac and cheese takes a while to prepare, and said they'd bring it out with my entree. Also, not the biggest deal to me at the time. When the spring rolls come out, they don't have any appetizer plates but rather come to my table with a bag of napkins and have me take one out... as if I'm at a cookout. The spring rolls tasted like they were bought frozen from the store and cooked up. No authentic flavors at all. A short time later, the Mac and cheese comes out, although I was expecting it with the entree. Mac and cheese left a lot to be desired... again no flavors. I'm ready to order my entree, and settle on the salmon. I was told they ran out of salmon. My second option was the lamb chops, which I'm told they also ran out of. How does a restaurant run out of this much food at 7pm? At this point, I just ask for the check and Guess what...The waiter tells me their receipt printer is broken and I have to follow him to the bar to see the receipt on their computer. To make matters worse, they tried to overcharge me for the Mac and cheese. The menu said $6.50 but they were trying to charge me almost $11 for it, and when I brought it to his attention, he said I was wrong and that it was $11. I had to pull up the menu again for him and that's when he said "sorry, we enter in the prices off memory and I THOUGHT it was $11." What the hell?!?
