I couldn't figure what I wanted so he had me describe what I had in mind and helped me order. My salad was fresh and delicious. My chicken skewers were so juicy. The chicken was cooked on the grill--which I love--because it really brings out the flavor in jerk chicken. I also requested my jerk sauce on the side since I prefer a dry rub style over a saucy one. The only drawback was the small bone pieces in the chicken and rice. That's something to be cautious about, especially if a child is eating the meal. The plantains were also inconsistent--some pieces were hard, while others were mushy. On the bright side, the coco bread was perfect and the Jamaican rum cake was phenomenal. Whoever baked that cake clearly took their time soaking it in rum. It reminded me of the way my grandmother used to make it--absolutely delicious. I would definitely order the rum cake again.

Perhaps since we arrived near lunch closing, service was winding down, but we got what we needed. I enjoyed the food here and would come again. Everything that we had was not only super tasty, but also reasonably priced. There's also plenty of parking in the shopping center.

Pleroma Cuisine seriously lacks good customer service. When I ordered food over the phone, they quoted one price for a specific soup, but when I checked DoorDash, it was a bit more, which was fine. However, things went downhill when I called back 10 minutes after placing the order to change the soup. The person I spoke to became incredibly rude, insisting they'd have to trash the food. I knew the soup couldn't have been prepared in that short time. Feeling uncomfortable, I canceled the DoorDash order. Despite that, they insisted the second order, initially promised in 15 minutes, now took 45. This place needs to step up its customer service game or consider shutting down, as the way they treat customers outweighs any positives about their food. read more

And when I was in the new event space that owner came n told me Bolu only paid for up to 1am. I was so furious because I had to pay $150 extra to have my event to 2am. And when I spoke to him about it after my event he cusses me out and called me names. I went to tito spice haven to speak to the owner, his parents and no one was there. The business is CLOSED. Thats when I realized that they didn't have the business anymore in laurel. And instead of telling me that, he rebooted my event somewhere else 31 min away, I lived 7 min for tito spice haven. This is only my 23rd 1-star review and crazy the 2nd business in this shopping center! See my 1-star review of Tropical Smoothie Cafe written last week (updated from my 2023 2-star review) of them. Maybe 1-2 years ago I ordered my food, and then asked for a cup of water. The guy said we have bottled water for sale, and I said no, just a free cup of water with my meal. He said we don't do that here, and told him I'm not giving any money and to cancel my order. I suggested to him that they should start giving courtesy cups of water with meal. A few months ago I was over there, and I wanted to test if Naz's changed a year later. They still didn't. The cashier said that all the Naz's don't offer the courtesy cup except for Columbia location as they had taken over the Halal Guys, which the set up of the restaurant was different for the coke machine. I've considered to try the Columbia location once, but I'm skeptical because it's still Naz's company policy to not offer courtesy cup of water to a paying food customer. It's not just that the Burtonsville only location are being jerks; it's Naz's as a whole. On Sunday, July 13, as a hail mary after the 1-star Burtonsville Tropical Smoothie Cafe right next door (see my recent review) was going to charge me $1.35 per cup of water even though we would've been paying customers. I said to my girlfriend, I'm sure Naz's will deny the water too, but let's test them, and I asked do you give a free cup of water with meal, which cashier once again said no. So, we ended up at ISAAC's across the street. I'll get around to a 5-star review of them in the future. My girlfriend said this shopping center sucks! Only Tropical Smoothie to not give courtesy cup + Naz's right next door. Also, it's the worst Roy Rogers location even though in March 2019, I see I wrote a 4-star review; various more recent experiences warrant 2-star for them if I ever get around to it. And the worst Greene Turtle I've been to; see my 3-star of the Burtonsville location. For good restaurants, go across the street to ISAAC's, Playa Bowl, or even freakin' Chipotle!

When I asked for extra sauce--an unassuming request in the long march of existence--it arrived without charge, carried with a quiet kindness that softened the sterile tiles and the stained ceiling panels above. Behind the counter, life continues with relentless economy: the cook bending over his station, the plastic cutlery waiting in their bins, the hum of an exhaust fan. There is no grand theater here, only sustenance dispensed in Styrofoam coffins, sealed and bagged, to be carried out into the night. Yet within this cycle, there is warmth, and a recognition of the human need to be fed well and treated decently, however fleeting the encounter may be. It is a small comfort, but a true one: the dumplings were good, and the service was kind.
