I recently hired this plumbing company, and unfortunately, my experience was extremely disappointing. Amanda quoted me $100/hour for labor, along with a travel fee since my home is 31 minutes from their office. She also mentioned that the plumber might bring an apprentice, but assured me there would be no additional charge for that--only to later deny this claim. If the owner (Greg?) records phone calls, I highly recommend he reviews them. On the day of the service, the lead plumber, Gary, and his apprentice, Jeff, arrived at 9:37 am and finished the work by 11:20 am--under two hours. Afterward, they spent 20 minutes preparing the bill, which totaled a staggering $814. The breakdown was confusing and did not align with the original quote. It included a $150 travel fee, $200 for Gary's labor, inflated charges for materials ($133 + $25), and a surprise $125 fee for the apprentice, directly contradicting Amanda's assurance that there would be no extra charge. Even with the unexpected apprentice fee, the total should have been about $687, including tax. I pointed out the discrepancies to Gary, especially regarding the apprentice charge and the inflated total. However, Gary refused to listen and became increasingly aggressive. When I contacted Amanda for clarification, she denied her previous statements and insisted the apprentice rate was $50/hour (which also contradicts the $125 charge on the bill). In an attempt to resolve the situation, I offered to pay $100 extra just to settle the matter, but Gary insisted he had undercharged me and claimed he should bill me for 2.5 hours instead (including his time spent preparing the bill, and rounding up!). He threatened to undo the work unless I paid on the spot. When I called Amanda again, the situation escalated, and I had to contact 911. Gary then threatened to put a lien on my property, at which point I told him I was prepared to take the matter to court. Only after this confrontation did Gary agree to settle the bill for $645--still about $100 more than what I should have paid. I suspect the issue stemmed from Amanda's rough estimate of $1,245 for the job, which may have been passed on to Gary despite our agreement on an hourly rate. It appeared as though Gary was fixated on meeting that higher estimate (I suspect he might be working on commission). As a minority, I also sensed there might have been some bias involved. Gary seemed to think the threat of legal action would pressure me into submission. (To be clear, most people in this community have been welcoming and kind, so this was an isolated experience.) A final comment.. the "head plumber" Gary had a consistently negative attitude throughout the entire job. He wore a sour expression, as though I was inconveniencing him by simply being a customer. His demeanor was unprofessional, and he appeared to fix the problems begrudgingly as I pointed them out. I have seen reviews describing him as helpful, so it is possible he was having a bad day, but that is no excuse to bring such negativity into a customer interaction. read more

Consumer beware. I had a pipe bust due to cold weather. I was in emergency and trying to find anyone who can get to my place and repair. I did contact Plumb Line and they were friendly. It was end of day Friday and they couldn't see me until Monday afternoon. I had other calls out and one responded that could be to my place Saturday morning. I had them stop by and they fixed the issue. I called Plumb Line that Monday morning to cancel our appointment since it had already been resolved and they stated that they were still going to charge me $145 dollars regardless to cancel the appointment. They were closed over the weekend and had no other opportunity to talk to anyone to cancel. I'm sure they're great at repairs but the billing side for a cancellation is uncalled for. Just be certain you want to use them or you could receive a substantial fee for cancellation. read more

I had an emergency earlier this week. I have used Plumb Line before, so they were the first I thought to phone. Though fully booked for the day, they were able to squeeze me in and take care of the problem the same day. read more

I called and was told that the cost was $145 for the first hour and $100/hr thereafter. The serviceman was at my house for just under an hour so i was expecting a $145 before tax bill. the bill i was given was $170 before tax and i asked why it wasn't $145. The initial reply was that they were here for more than an hour. i pulled up my cameras and showed them walking down my driveway and coming to my door at 11:49 am. Serviceman left my house to walk to his truck to get the bill at 12:39 am (50 min of work) and then came back from his truck at 12:46 pm. They kept saying they were still here at my house to charge for. i have no idea why a customer should be charged for time questioning an incorrect bill especially when i had the camera proof to support my questions nor why i should be responsible for the 7 minutes it takes them in their trunk to write up my bill. They wouldn't budge so i paid the extra $25 plus tax. I'm thankful for the service and always want to pay the fair wage deserved and quoted but was treated like they could just add on the extra charge and i wouldn't be any the wiser. No matter if it is an extra $1 charge or $100, be fair to your customers and we would rave about your good service to others and use you again and again. This experience completely overshadowed the service and i cannot in good faith call you again to use your services nor share positive feedback with friends, family and neighbors. read more

We have hired Plumb Line about 5 times now. I originally found them for my senior mom who had a clogged kitchen sink. We called Roto Rooter first and they tried to take her to the bank. Called Plumb Line and they sent Gary. Really nice guy, great jobs done and reasonable prices. They even gave my momma senior discounts. Great company!! read more

STAY AWAY! Even though the plumber did a great job. The receptionist was unprofessional and caused my family a lot of harm by sabotaging our insurance claim, accusing me of fraud, not relying paperwork we needed and being overall unprofessional and clueless about working with insurance. This lead to insurance closing our claim and refusing to pay. We had extensive water damage and even though the plumber wasn't covered, they just needed a cause of damage and this woman was the worst to work with. read more

It's official. Greg Fox is the most skilled, most honest, and most efficient plumber (that, and so much more, skilled in electrical systems, carpentry, building a home from the ground up, you name it) that I could have ever hoped to hire. A job that was estimated to take over 3 weeks by another local plumber took Greg Fox barely a day and a half. He and his crew worked hard, worked fast, cleaned up, and left the remodeling looking exactly how I had imagined in my mind's eye, and I am admittedly a little hard to please! After my first experience with Greg, I would never go to any other plumber, electrician, or handyman for that matter. He's just hands down the best. Not to mention, probably one of the nicest guys you'd ever meet. Support local Olympia businesses! This is a good one! read more

Our home warranty company hired them. We'd bought a new house, and within weeks our shower drain was leaking into the downstairs ceiling. They cut into the ceiling and "fixed" the leak the first time, and we waited three days for it to set. As soon as we turned the water on it leaked like they hadn't done anything. They "fixed" it a second time, and we waited several more days. This time it held for about two months before leaking again. Now the home warranty company is hiring someone else to fix it. But we have to pay the deductible again. And pay to get the ceiling fixed again. So this has been fun. And they say Congress is bad at their jobs... read more

I keep forgetting to review these guys, EXCELLENT business!!!!! Our kitchen sink was stopped. I mean would not even drain slowly. It was still water. My husband is very handy and has a close friend who is a plumber and he had gone on plenty of jobs with him way back when. We did NOT want to hire anyone, were pretty broke at the time so tried everything before calling. We bought gallons of stuff at Lowe's that was supposed to clear the pipes (spent at least $100 on various chemicals), bought a second snake, bought attachment to second snake, etc. The clog was so bad it messed up both snakes and after DAYS trying to clear it (he was in basement for 4 days all day long) my husband called Plumb line. We had been washing dishes in our bathtub for a week!!!! Enter first guy. I think he might have been an apprentice. When my husband had spoken to Greg on the phone he explained what he had already tried and what didn't work. We were a little upset we were going to be charged hourly when this guy was doing what we'd already tried. He was here for over four hours and all we could see were dollar signs. Well, he finally called Greg and he showed up. I think Greg was here for two hours. Turned out former owners of our home owned a fried carnival ELEPHANT EAR business. We think they poured grease out in sinks here from the vats used to fry the elephant ears when they lived here. Greg said he hadn't seen pipes this terrible except for restaurants. He Jimmied his snake up somehow....almost ruined his I think but did his magic and our pipes were clear...CLEAR!!!!!! Water goes down so fast now. Best part was he did not charge us for the other guy being here doing the same my husband had tried first four hours. Our final bill? $200. I was thrilled. Greg is honest and fair and I will only call him from now on and would recommend him to everyone. It's been 1-1/2 years (can't believe I forgot to review) and our pipes are perfect. Best. Plumber. Ever. read more

Today Gary came out and fixed my toilets and was a wealth of knowledge answering all of my questions. Plumb Line has been out to my house on two separate occasions for diffrent issues. Every time they come out they are very nice and professional. They are reasonably priced compared to other plumbers in the area as well. I recommend using this business for all of your plumbing needs. Thank you Plumb Line!!! read more

I'll agree that Greg Fox was skilled, efficient and honest. But my experience was different.A job that was estimated to take a week took almost a month.I had to wait weeks for flooring, and he brought the wrong toilet. He still hasn't been back to seal the toilet and it's been 30 days since I called and asked.Hasn't provided the lien releases I've asked for either. read more

I recieved a service call from Plumb Line under my home warranty after reporting I had issues with my garbage disposal. I was so happy with the service I recieved, they took the time to really investigate the problem although it seemed like it was an easy fix. The thorough investigation resulted in finding another issue that would have eventually led to another call. They could have just left when things seemed to be working. The fact that they took the time to just be sure really payed off. I also recieved some great pointers to help prevent future calls. I will request them in the future. They are focused on quality and good service. I highly recommend them. Owning my second home, I have been through many plumbers and know this kind of service is hard to find! read more

Very poor follow up after initial inspection of our project. We had to beg to get information from Greg.

I took 1/2 day off from work to have these guys come in and install a shower, sink and toilet. Two hours later, they show up. Not even a phone call to let me know they would be late. I was so disgusted with their lame excuse, I dismissed them! If you can't even provide a courtesy phone call, then you're not worthy of my time. read more
