Let me get straight to the point--Pavel and his crew are ALL-STARS! My wife and I were looking for someone to renew our deck. When we bought our home in 2018, the previous owners had gone to great lengths to hide significant defects in the deck. After a few seasons of heavy rain and heat, those issues became glaringly obvious. Pavel was the third contractor we got a quote from. While his estimate was on the higher side of the three, we felt completely confident in his expertise and approach. He didn't just offer a quick fix--he provided thoughtful solutions I would have never considered. For example, instead of replacing all the worn deck boards on the FRONT deck, he repurposed some by cutting them down for use on the REAR deck that didn't require full-length boards. He also flipped others to expose the unused surface, minimizing waste and saving us money. We also had a sagging fence due to rot, and I had no idea how it could be properly repaired. Another contractor suggested installing an additional 4x4 post as a brace, but that sounded like an eyesore and a lazy fix. Pavel took the time to thoroughly assess the issue, diagnosed the root cause, and replaced only the necessary parts--now the fence is likely sturdier than when it was brand new! Throughout the project, I observed his team working and was blown away by their attention to detail and craftsmanship. It's obvious that Pavel and his crew take great pride in their work, treating each project as if it were their own home. There were two areas of the project that were accidentally left out of the initial quote, and when I brought it up, Pavel completed them anyway--no hesitation, no extra charge. For example, part of there rear deck required access to the septic and in the past it required unscrewing deck boards but he built a door with handles thats super easy / convenient and sturdy. It was also great to learn that Pavel has an artistic / creative background, which reassured me that he holds himself to the highest standards for ascetics. In the past, hiring a contractor has often felt like a leap of faith, but let me save you some time--Pavel is the real deal. Malovany Paintbrush painted the exterior of my 2300 sq ft split level home 3 yrs ago upon the recommendation of a friend and am I glad I trusted them to do the job!!! I got 3 quotes and he was the middle quote. The condition of the exterior walls was terrible with paint peeling off in sheets! His crew scrapped off every inch of the peeling, sanded, primed, and 2 coats of quality paint later, voila, a beautiful job that still looks like it was done yesterday!! I have used Pavel for many years, he has painted the exterior and most of the interior of our house. His quality and workmanship is outstanding. One major benefit that Pavel provides is that in addition to painting, he also has replaced and installed door casing, baseboard and crown molding in the house, and done minor Sheetrock repair. These are items most painters don't do, requiring finding another contractor for this type of work which can be difficult and expensive. His prices are very reasonable and competitive.
