How can I give Rene and his teams 6 stars? Rene and his team are the definition of professional. We found Rene after three previous attempts to get house painted. Rene's team is clean, careful, expert, great communication, and the highest quality of work and attention to detail. This is by far the best experience I have ever had with a contractor. This is your guy!

Great work by Rene Mora and Raul. The quote was competitive and m detailed on what to expect. The team is small and they pay attention to detail when they work. The job took around 5 days from power washing to final touch ups . They came in a timely manner and were professional throughout the job being done. When they found the walls were chalky, they put a sealer on there to make it so the paint would adhere better. When one of my front columns showed termite damage, I cleaned that rot out and they put bondo there to make the column look like new. That was great. Would recommend them to others looking to get their home painted.

Mora Painting should be the only call you make when choosing a painter in Santa Cruz. I called several companies and each of them came when they said they would, provided estimates, and were generally nice folks. Rene Mora came over and gave me an incredibly detailed estimate and priced it so competitively the choice was obvious. I added some extra stuff to do and he just took care of everything with a smile and a "Sure, I'll take care of that for you.". The added cost was minimal compared to the work he did and I was super grateful. Let me tell you, I used to be a painter. This is an incredibly detailed job when done right. Prep is SOOOOOOO important. Choosing the correct products for the surfaces and multiple coats to get good coverage. This guy is a pro and it shows. I am genuinely impressed!!! There was SOOOOO much to do in this house. Look at all the trim, crown molding, baseboard, built-in, etc... He even removed carpet I forgot to remove before he came and didn't even mention it. Rene will be my first call every time!!!

I've been watching a lot of Youtube and the secret to a great job is the prep before the painting days. This is where Rene from Mora Painting really shines. We did do our research and got bids from 3 other companies. However, Rene was the only contractor that I trusted to spend a lot of attention to the details. The house was in bad shape before and needed a lot of weather sealing and prep-work. Rene assured me that he would seal and prime all the trouble areas and he spent a lot of time prepping the house so that the painting would be smooth and look great. He was able to fade the stucco cracks so that you can't even see them with fresh paint. Further, Rene is old school and does a proper two coats of paint. The outside was looking great so we expanded our contract and had him take care of a lot of issues inside the house. The doors and the touch-ups made the home feel like new. I think the best part of Rene is his communication with clients and his crews were always on time. If we need anything else done, we will for sure use Rene again.

I needed to have my large, two-story, 1929 Mission-style home painted this year since it had been 20+ years since it was last painted. I'm fairly knowledgeable about painting and also very particular about the products and process used as well as the overall quality of the job. I chose five painting companies to submit bids based upon the quantity and rating of their on-line reviews and Mora Painting was one of those bidders. In order to be able to directly compare the bids, I had put together a detailed spec/statement of work defining what paints (brands, product level, sheen ) I wanted, as well as the individual prep, priming and painting steps I expected. Before submitting their bids, each company did a walk-through of the job site with me, and had a chance to ask questions and describe their plans, products, process and estimated timeline. At the end of each walk-through, I gave each company a copy of my spec/SOW and reviewed it with them. Based on those walk-throughs alone, and before receiving any bids, I already was leaning toward Mora Painting to do the job and hoped for a competitive bid. At the walk-through, Mario's description of their proposed painting products and process nearly exactly matched my spec/SOW even before he had seen it. That told me a lot about Mora Painting's business philosophy. When I received the five bids back in a few days, I can't say that Mora Painting was the lowest bidder, but their bid was clearly the most responsive to what I had specified, and their knowledge, experience and professionalism came across clearly in my discussions with Rene (owner) and Mario (his brother). The total job took about five weeks (including two weeks of very detail prep) with one to three painters working at any given time, and the final result is amazing. Many of the neighbors have commented on how great the house looks with its new, traditional color scheme, and I agree, but I mostly appreciate that the job was done right, by painters who really care about the quality of their work. If you want the best price, there are plenty of painters who will bid low with inferior products and quicker processes, but if you want the best, high quality paint job at a reasonable price, just call Mora Painting.

Rene and team is great to work with. He actually treated my house as his and recommended the right materials and I love the results. What I liked the most is they were ok to stretch but made sure they did a good job. Overall I highly recommend these guys for any kind of interior exterior paint jobs. I could not take a lot of pics.. but I am super happy for my space looking super new after the job

Very happy with the work of Rene and his team, Raul and Marcos. Great guys and very patient with their work and it's worth it! They gave us suggestions for color schemes and we are very happy with it!

Mora painting did an excellent job and accommodated our requests such as individual door colors!

Mora Painting really came through for our HOA complex when it came time to repaint. For a 7 unit complex with balconies and lots of trim work he was amazingly affordable. He promised an attention to detail and really delivered. He did not just slap new paint on the old but spent a lot of time sanding and resurfacing all areas of the buildings. The result is a clean look that makes our early 80s buildings look almost new. I can't recommend him enough!

After looking at bids to paint my home I decided to go with Mora Painting Inc. Rene and his crew did a great job and I very happy with the results. Rene was easy to ask questions through text and would always respond. Other than the weather they would show up and do a full day's work. I love my newly painted home and would definitely recommend Rene's company and would use them again in the future. Thanks Rene

Josê and his team did a beautiful job of painting seven items, including a large bureau, two mirrors, and a desk with many nooks. They quoted a very reasonable price compared to others, and did not charge a "Palo Alto premium" as many do. José is a good communicator and he has a skillful and friendly team. I could not be more pleased. They gave the dark furniture several coats of Benjamin Moore white dove. Along with lighter walls and carpet, the room has been transformed in such a magical way that I can hardly bear to leave it. They did magnifient work and were not overpriced. Such a pleasure to find such true and honest artisans in this area.

They were 25 year old custom cabinets so the cases were good but we asked Ian to redo all the drawer boxes to make them soft close. Everything was accurate and quality materials. We restained one bathroom and Ian did a great job of creating a color that worked with the existing flooring. He brought samples and was willing to tweak to get it just right. We couldn't get a stain color either of us liked for the primary bath, so he made all new fronts in addition to the drawer boxes. We had a new walnut kitchen and he selected a very nice walnut sheet and grain matched everything. I wanted flush mount tab hardware that had to be routed in which isn't simple, but it worked perfectly. He did several rounds of varnish so we could get the color to match the kitchen. Throughout the entire process isn't was flexible and committed to doing everything right. The installation was easy--they came and removed all the fronts and drawers and after the work was completed, they sanded and stained the cases and installed the cabinet doors and drawers. One door was a little off kilter and Ian returned quickly to adjust it. His installation team was very good and careful about masking off the mirrors, counter, and floor so everything was protected and they cleaned up when done. Overall a really top notch job (we had a referral from a neighbor whose refinished cabinets were beautifully done by Ian and his team) and I would highly recommend their work and would absolutely hire them again for another job.
