I highly recommend Hernandez Truck Repair for one stop for all repairs…read more Within a year, I had taken our truck to... 3 KW repair shops. 4 alignment truck repair shops. 1 mom's pap's truck repair shop. 3 steers tires. 8 drives. 7 alignments. Replaced; Tie rod. King pins. U-bolts. Shocks. Bushings/ ball joins. Steer tires wheels. Wheel seals. Different size tires. Several tires were balanced. 1 set of leaf springs. Rear shocks and bushings. X bar/wish bones. Drive shaft. Oil pan seal replaced. 3 DOT inspections. I called Hernandez Truck Repair and explained the symptoms and the history of previous repairs. Symptoms were: Odd break feeling on the break pedal. Odd shake that no one had figured out. Odd wear and tear of the tires, especially the steers. The truck felt like all tires were fighting each other. Oil leak that is noticeable after the oil pan seal was replaced and the engine was washed. The mechanic started diagnosing the truck around 11 am. By 11:45, Jorge showed me the drive shaft had loose/play, which consequently could be the cause of the odd shaking and odd wear and tear of the tires. Upon further diagnosis, they discovered the fly wheel seal needed to be replaced. During the repairs, I was called back and was shown that the kingpin on the driver side was damaged. Furthermore, the oil pan had metal particles, which is known for engine pistons wear and tear. Jorge took the time to explain the repairs needed. He also mentioned that engines with metal shavings are known for pistons coming apart, causing major breakdowns. We were concerned on down time. Jorge gave us an ETA on repairs to be completed by Friday. We approved all repairs. Eduardo, the main mechanic that worked on all repairs, only took a 30 min break. 2 more mechanics came to assist around 15:30. By 18:00, the front end and engine had been taken apart. All parts were presented to us to show us other broken/ damaged parts... Driver side Kingpin, front wheels, and front brakes showed evidence of damage due to the damaged drive shaft that needed to be replaced. Engine overhaul, including all repairs, was completed by Thursday night. Mechanics would start working around 7:00 AM. Several mechanics worked together and stayed overtime to complete the repairs and get us back on the road. All the mechanics were friendly and respectful to our equipment. All parts were hand cleaned, washed, and painted. They went above and beyond our expectations. They cleaned everything they touched, including the windshield and tires, before releasing the truck. Once all repairs were completed, I asked them to check the trailer breaks and replaced them if needed. Little did I know, one of the breaks had seized, and one of the sensors had been damaged. During conversations with the mechanics, I understand several have been raised by their parents in the trucking repair business. Luke, Jorge's wife, was a general manager at Flying-J for many yrs, her father worked 20 yrs at Blue Beacon. He is also part of the team. All support each other on their tasks to complete repairs in a timely manner. All go home together. All made sure we had what we needed. By Friday, during their lunch break, we celebrated a birthday together by cutting a cake. As I mentioned before, they went above and beyond my expectations. I will post this review on several web pages as it is the least I can do to show my appreciation. Thank you, Lupe, Jorge, Eduardo, Jose, Gerardo, Jesus, Ernesto, and Cesar, for the excellent and customer service!!!

The only towing company that was open at the time suggested I have it towed it to Alpha Auto Repair since it was close to their offices. When I spoke to the manager on the phone, he informed me that the engine had thrown two rods and would need a complete rebuild at a cost of over $9000. After reading some of the online reviews and finding the business has an F rating from the BBB, I found Pro Tech Diesel, which has very good reviews, and called back to have it towed there. I had told the manager at Pro Tech, Ritchie, that I needed a rebuilt engine installed, and he worked with me to get an an order ready for one from Jasper Engines. However, when his guys inspected the motor, they realized that it only needed a new distributor cap, rotor, and wires, and they completed the repair for much less than a rebuild would have cost. I therefore concluded that the Alpha Auto Repair manager was lying to scam me out of $9000, and Ritchie could have scammed me for even more by simply going along with what I'd told him and keeping his mouth shut. But he didn't. He told me the truth. If I ever again need repair work in El Paso on my RV, Pro Tech Diesel is the place.
