I recently moved into a new apartment and decided to use POD services for what I expected would be a straightforward move. I booked my POD delivery about a month in advance. Initially, I wanted to rent a 12-foot pod and received an order confirmation for that size, but the only available units for rental were actually 16-foot sizes. My price was adjusted accordingly based on my initial confirmation. I had hired movers to help me and needed the pod to arrive beforehand. The schedule that I received from PODS stated the pod would arrive anywhere from 12:15 and 3:15 PM, which perfectly aligned with the time I scheduled my movers. However, as the afternoon progressed, the estimated arrival window was pushed back to 1:45 to 4:45 PM, with the POD ultimately arriving near 4 pm. During an already stressful time, I expected the estimates provided by PODS to be accurate and trustworthy. When I called the numbers listed on their website for assistance, an automated message explained that while these timelines are estimates, they can and likely will change. The POD arrived about 30 minutes after my movers, and it was picked up a few days later. Karl was the driver and was friendly and courteous. While using the POD itself was easy and helpful for my move, the logistics of ordering and receiving the POD significantly detracted from my overall experience. read more

1 million percent no. DO NOT USE PODS, use ANYTHING else. They held onto our pod in another state and refused to move it AFTER they already confirmed 3 separate times they could move it to that exact location. They held our pod in a different state and FORCED us to come pick it up there. And they held onto it for 3 weeks before they would initially start the move. They will find a way to get their money and the bank won't let you dispute it. I was charged almost double what I was originally told and charged to my card getting more charges. They are impossible to deal with and customer service manager was the most grotesque attitude. Do yourself a favor and Just rent Penske because we have never had an issue and they are always ready to answer questions. I received professional service with attentive contact agents all through my move from rural Indiana to Crestwood, MO. The pick-up and delivery of the POD was on time. I was able to load the POD immediately upon arrival, and unload my contents from the POD within two days. In St Louis, Marquis took extra effort to position the POD in my condo complex parking lot so that I had easy access from the POD door to my entry door. Moving is very stressful for me, but PODS made the process predictable. I liked that PODS had the tech so that I could follow my POD on its move. It was reassuring to me. read more

Absolute trash! They have delayed my delivery 3 times to point where they were arriving 2 days before I have to be out of my house. Then they show up and just leave because there was a moving truck in my driveway. I told them when they rescheduled for that particular day that there would be other activities happening around this move and we may have to move things around a bit when they got here. So far so good. From Vegas to Saint Louis. Got the pod delivered to my home in Vegas so we filled it and off to Saintlouis with it. Once it arrived in Saintlouis we the husband and I took a little trip to visit our pod. Everything is actually ok. I trust this company they give excellent customer service and I enjoy the kindness and support that the staff offer. I will recommend that anyone use this service when moving from state to state. I requested a POD to my prior residence to move to my new home. I was disappointed with the service. The driver did not come back to pick up the POD which caused me to order a U-Haul to complete my move. I was still charged for the service that I did not receive from PODS. I was inconvenienced and would have been without furnture for 5 days had I waited until May 2, 2023, when the POD was picked up, to move my furniture to my new Home. This is an unprofessional and business and I would never do business with them again or recommend them to anyone. -400 STARS because that's what theyre charging me for this horrible and emotional draining service. They said when you book they'll charge your card the day before drop off. They tried to charge me two days before delivery dinging my account and said they'd cancel my drop off. This was extremely frustrating and I had to make 3 different calls to resolve it. I also found out I needed a permit to park a pod where I live and was not given these details by the website or the reps when I called to confirm my delivery time When they threatened cancellation. Fast forward to today, delivery day. I live very close to this POD storage location and was to have my POD dropped off at 7:30 AM-10:30 AM. I called at 9:30 AM to confirm pick up and they said a driver would call 30 minutes before they arrive, it was all very vague. I called when I returned home from work at 6:30PM and there was no POD. I called and spoke to Customer Service Rep 1 at 6:35PM. She was very excited to say someone changed the delivery time to 2:30-5:30... it was 6:35 PM Uhhh? I called again Rep 2 says he don't know the drivers info but it's going to be delivered today. he woudnt forward me to Operations. He said it would arrive by 8 PM. He said he sent the pods location an email. Rep 3 said she called Dispatch 3 times and wouldn't connect. She sent an email to them to find out who the driver was. She said I wouldn't talk to a supervisor because they dont have answers but I insisted they had to know a direct person to get some kind of answers. She kept putting me on hold and then said I would talk to a supervisor and I sat on hold for 30 minutes and was hung up on. Rep 4 said she would submit a case ticket due to missed delivery and connected me to the marketing directors phone inbox. He had a email address in the voicemail and the inbox was full. Rep 5 was full of excuses. She said "it looks like they ran out of driving hours and that's why they cannot delivery today." it was suppose to arrive at 7:30AM to 10:30AM!? she then said "they deliver until 10 PM it will come tonight." what am I suppose to believe anymore... I asked for a supervisor and she said they were all busy, then said there was no one in her office, then she said she was messaging a male supervisor who was available but then she said he wasn't. my head was spinning.... Rep 6 said he was sending emails to his supervisor to connect me and said the prior rep had rescheduled delivery for tomorrow and I was told on the phone. I was not. he wouldn't provide the window of drop off and kept saying he didn't know. All this time there is no proof of changes coming through to my email to confirm changes. Rep 7 said no notes were on my profile aside from one note saying "missed delivery" the delivery change notes were not even present. I felt like I was in the Twlight Zone. She said she tried to call this storage place but no answer and she said they were open, she also emailed them. she submitted a help desk ticket to get me a part refund. I had to ask multiple times for details such as: her caller ID, the ticket number and email confirmation ID. She said that the POD place would call me to get me in if someone canceled. I should be prioritized as it was not delivered twice now. I asked for the direct email and number for the pod place and she said it was "confidential" but she gave me the address and manager name. Everyone had a different story. Everyone was rude. Everyone changed their story over and over again sometimes within moments. Stating it will be delivered today to oh it's coming tomorrow. They lied about actually seeking help or updating my account and I had to ask multiple times for my details and my POD wasn't delivered. I had to miss work to be here for the first drop off. I had to reschedule movers since it wasn't there when I got home. This is truly unacceptable. read more

LIED TO. Had them deliver a POD-they hit my gutter. I get it, accidents happen. I was told by the driver that a report was filed and I didn't need to do anything and they would reach out, never did. I called by phone multiple times and every time they said they had the report and they would reach out with how they would fix it. Finally I filed a report with the BBB, and they said because I waited 60 days to file a written report they wouldn't fix it after being told MULTIPLE times that a report had already been filed. I personally would not hire anyone that unprofessional and rude to scrape dog feces off the sidewalk. My neighbors hired pods because they clearly have to move. I work nights, and when I asked the driver how much longer he would be he deliberately turned his back and started playing in his phone. When I called to him again he told me he would be done when he was done. I will not repeat the other things said, because clearly it got heated. Do not use PODs, horrible customer service and they screwed me over badly. My credit card was charged the 9th of each month for the rental fee. Knowing this, when I was ready to bring my stuff back, I scheduled the delivery for the 3rd and pick-up on the 6th two weeks in advance. I received a confirmation email on the 1st, so far, so good. On the day of delivery, they notify me that THEY rescheduled my delivery for the 7th and pick-up on the 18th. I had movers coming on the 4th so I lost that $200 deposit for canceling with the movers and here's the kicker, PODS is still going to charge me another months rental on the 9th because I'll still have their stupid POD. I emailed them on 6/9/2022- was informed that my account was passed on to their senior customer resolution team for review. As of today 6/20/2022, I have emailed on 4 difference occasions. We still have not heard anything from their resolution team. We also have more issues than the original review. This is by far, the WORST customer service I have EVER received. Do NOT ever use PODS to store your belongings. We were paying customers for 15 months and paid ever month with auto pay and never heard anything from them. We scheduled our belongings to be moved 12 days in advance (keep in mind we were on hold for 20 minutes in order to do this because you cannot do this online). A week before we were scheduled to move, they cancelled our POD.. This caused a delay of 6days to get our belongings, so we could not move into our new home and had no where to live at that point. Their website it not intuitive and they will just cancel your shipment without a care in the world for the customer. DO NOT EVER USE. Terrible company and I will never be using them again. read more

We had used PODS multiple times but this last time WILL be our last because they were so unresponsive and uncaring, promising a refund that never happened, promising a call back that never came. My scheduled delivery date was changed and they never notified me. The delivery driver (When it finally arrived) could not park the POD where I requested, despite having a POD delivered there before! The contents of this last POD included a moth infestation, several moldy boxes with evidence of water stains that looked like it had been manifested from out of nowhere, and other weird stains on boxes. We started thinking that maybe our POD was broken into or had roof damage that was then repaired and several of our items were moved around. My movers told me that this facility DOES NOT store the PODS in a controlled environment. I've moved in just about every way imaginable. Roping in friends and family to load all my stuff into a crude caravan of pickups and minivans and trailers? Check. Loading everything into the back of a rented truck and driving it across country? Check. Having the wild good fortune of letting professional movers handle the loading and shipment? Check. They all have their drawbacks--and none are exactly pleasant. But, compared to PODS Moving & Storage, they all feel like a trip to the spa. PODS Moving & Storage has been, by far--by a blazing country mile, in fact--the worst moving experience of my life. They are expensive, inconvenient, destructive, unresponsive, and borderline dishonest. Dealing with them has been absolutely burdensome, beginning to end. Really, the only scenario in which PODS might look like a viable moving option would be if you had to haul all your stuff to your new place on your back, one item at a time. Even then, I'd recommend just abandoning all your belongings and living the rest of your life as a lonesome, free-wheeling hobo. Horrible, horrible company. Our two pods were scheduled to be picked up two days ago. PODS emailed us after our pickup window to reschedule (we did not receive a call or text) due to "ice," even though I drove on surface streets and highways and they were completely passable at 7am (the darkest and coldest time of the day). They gave us an automatic new date without consulting us, which was two weeks after our original delivery date. Customer service was very unprofessional and said (originally) that they rescheduled the pod pickup because my husband sent them an email request. When I said that wasn't true, the agent admitted that it was PODS' decision to cancel the pickup. She was dishonest again and said she could reschedule the pick up for the next day. When I spoke with her supervisor, the supervisor admitted that the first available pick up day was 4 days after the original pick up day--and we would still get our things more than two weeks after our original drop off date. I asked for a refund and they said the customer service team would reach back out in 7-10 business days (after we would have to be out money for a hotel for the delayed pod arrival). They also said they would upload documentation of the conversation on my online account which they have not done. There is no recording or copy of my complaints that I'm able to see--from the reviews online, it looks like these sorts of complaints regularly go unanswered and unaddressed for weeks and months. My case has been "escalated" to two different agents who say they need time to review the file because when I "escalated" my complaints to social media (the only way to email PODS directly at socialmedia@pods.com), they have to use a different protocol supposedly. I called again today and an agent again lied, saying no one could pick up our PODS because St. Louis is shut down due to ice (which isn't true). The amount of lying that goes on with customer service is particularly distressing. It seems as if they are trained to be dishonest so that they can try to avoid liability (e.g., if we say the city is shut down, then we can push off picking up the pods a few more days). I do not recommend this service at all. Companies make mistakes, but a company's true colors come out in how they address those mistakes. From the thousands of negative online reviews, PODS seems to be dishonest and try to place blame on everyone but themselves, while telling customers they need endless amounts of time to address an issue (likely in the hopes that people will give up trying to get their money back). **In the owner's response below they say they've been in touch with me. They have not. All I've heard is that they are "looking into it" and cannot help me for 7-10 business days. They have also told me if my items get stolen, that's ok bc they are insured up to 10k. Because family heirlooms are easily replaceable. ** as a new update, they said they investigated the issue and it is resolved and closed. If I could give pods zero stars I would. My husband and I scheduled and paid for a pod to be shipped from St. Louis MO to Twentynine Palms CA and they were not only a WEEK late dropping it off in St. Louis but they are going to be over a week late dropping it off at our new house in Twentynine Palms. And keep in mind we are moving because my husband is in the military! They are an extremely unreliable business to work with, and we paid over $3,000 to have them move all of our stuff and they have not helped us once on knowing when it will be dropped off or picked up! They told us that the pod would be dropped of in Twentynine Palms on July 27th, we got an email saying that the date got moved to the 30th, and then we got another email saying that it won't get there until August 3rd now because they said, "We only drop off pods in that area on Wednesdays and your pod wasn't in CA on the 27th." Now it would be a little different if they had just picked it up from MO a couple days before hand but they picked up this pod on July 12th, they have had over TWO WEEKS to get it out to CA! I will never be using this company or recommending it to anyone! If you are thinking about using them, don't!! Use Uhaul or Budget Trucks for not only a cheaper price but you'll know when you'll get all of your stuff! read more

I have never been so disgusted and angered overall with a paid service in which I paid so much to use . Hours before my day of confirmed delivery I am told there's a need to reschedule my two pods. I have movers scheduled as well s additional paid helpers in which are now paid for a service in which may likely not be able to be completed .After multiple calls back in forth to different reps , I was told one of my two PODS will arrive today and the other more than likely first thing in the morning , however she was not sure. This is so emotionally draining and the lack of empathy and due diligence is truly alarming to a company as large and all known as PODS... This has been a horrible experience and will all the back in forth and just misleading information paying more to use a traditional moving company would have been more ideal . read more

My experience with Pods was terrific. Needed 1 call to customer service to get the Pod ordered, as their website isn't as "self-service" as they think it is. But once the Pod was ordered, all went smoothly. Pod delivered on time, and driver placed it exactly where on driveway we wanted it. We packed our stuff in it for 6 months during house remodel, and the Pod and our contents stayed dry and unaffected by outside weather. Took about a week to unload our contents back in our house, then called for pickup. Driver came and picked it up one day while I was at work, all good. Will use the Pods service next time I have the need to store stuff I don't have room for in my house! read more

Nothing but trouble. Pod was suppose to be delivered six feet from house. It was dropped off at very end of driveway at least 50 feet from house blocking all access to driveway. Have to drive across lawn to get to house. Called for pickup and they are 11 days out in schedule even though call waiting says to give them seven days notice. Customer service is non-existent. We were recommended to use PODS in our recent move and initially paid $450 for a container to be dropped off and taken to their storage facility and to be dropped off a month later. This was an absolute mistake. When we requested to have the POD dropped off at our new house, they missed the drop off window by several hours AND charged us an additional $120. When we reached out to customer service, we were told they cannot give us a time when our belongings will be returned to us. We were also told they do not offer refunds for late returns and that returning our belongings is a "courtesy". A service paid $500+ for in which our belongings are essentially held as collateral is not a courtesy, it's a debt owed to the customer which PODS is clearly unwilling to pay and will also make excuses with no remedy or incentive to recommend to others or use again in the future. I understand things happen that can cause a delivery window to be missed, but PODS offered no help, no remedy, and no explanation as well as no call informing us of a delay, and no apology whatsoever from 2 separate customer service representatives. This is my 2nd Yelp review ever because I typically have an open mind and understand when a business's promise of service cannot be fulfilled, but this was handled so poorly that I will actively encourage my friends to avoid PODS and I will most assuredly never request services in the future. read more

The customer service representatives are completely incompetent, and they constantly blame delivery problems on the storage locations; each storage location is an independently owned and operated PODS contractor, completely incompetent on both ends. Customer service reps work from home, and I can hear them doing dishes, yawning, making coffee and all the while sounding completely disinterested in helping you. Rudeness permeates every single interaction with these horrible company. CONSTANT BILLING ISSUES!! I am only one month into my POD contract (which is supposed to cost $210 per month) and I've already been charged over $450. When I call to ask why, no one is able to help me or provide me with an answer. I am writing this review while sitting on the phone for over an hour, getting transferred between billing and customer service... each group is just as incompetent and unhelpful as the last. BUYER BEWARE...GO WITH ANYONE ELSE. I am FUMING. If I could give ZERO stars, I would. I arranged for a Pod to be delivered on August 29th to load my belongings. When arranging for pickup, I said that I needed the Pod to be picked up on the 30th of August. The customer service representative advised against that, and against my better judgement, I agreed to an August 31st pickup. I informed the customer service representative that I was nervous about this since I would not be at the location on the 31st. I was assured that it would not be a problem. On the 31st, they were unable to pickup the Pod and I was told to reschedule. I called Clear Water to reschedule a pickup for September 2nd. On 9/2, a driver said that he could not pick up the Pod because there were cars around the Pod that made impossible for him to pick it up. He told me to reschedule for a pickup after the Labor Day holiday. That is what I did. I called Clearwater AGAIN. On this phone call, I was informed that the Pod had been picked up. I asked if they were sure because no one in St. Louis had informed me of a pickup. I was told that THEIR RECORDS SHOWED THE POD HAD BEEN PICKED UP. I asked if we could make sure. The Clearwater representative put me on hold and called the St. Louis location. I was on hold for a long time. The representative came back on the line and said that he was unable to get anyone at the St. Louis location but he left a long message with my information so that the St. Louis Location could call me. He also tried to reassure me that their records said the pickup was completed. After a day or two, I had not heard from the St. Louis location. I had tried to place calls with the drivers' numbers that had called, to no avail. I called Clearwater again, they said they would contact the St. Louis location AGAIN, but their records showed it had been picked up. I asked if I could call back again to make sure that it had been picked up if I had not heard from the St. Louis location. They said that that would be fine. I held off for days calling the Clearwater home office due to the hurricane that tore through Florida. Fast forward to today, October 19, 2017, when I received a call from a customer service representative from Clearwater, Florida, informing me that my pod had not been picked up and asking ME what I wanted to do about the Pod because there was some city official demanding the Pod be picked up. I saw red. I told her everything I have written here. She had the nerve to ask me if there was anything valuable in the Pod. I have many things that are of sentimental value and that was fair. I also told her I needed to be compensated for the nearly two months that I was under the impression that my Pod was in a secured, temperature controlled location. She said that she could not do that. I said that I will be placing a review on Yelp, and she said the she could apply $75 refund. $75!!!!!! For the last couple of months, my checking account has been charged automatically, after I was assured that it was at the St. Louis location...safe and in a temperature controlled facility, and it's been on the street ALL THAT TIME...and all I got was $75. THAT WAS NOT WHAT I PAID FOR. I PAID FOR THE ACTUAL POD AND STORAGE. THEY DID NOT FULFILL THEIR END OF THE CONTRACT...THEY LIED...AND SHE TRIED TO BLAME ME. Can't talk to the local people. You will be sold on services from the 800 number that the local operator can refuse to honor without explanation. You can't talk to the people locally by any means -- if you call the 800 number, they will call them and ask the question and report what the local person says. DO NOT USE THIS LOCATION!!! One of THE WORST customer service experiences I've ever had. I had some old furniture in a POD in St. Louis. I live in Atlanta. I rented a van to pick the furniture up, and I forgot to call 24 hrs ahead to schedule my pick up (my mistake). Drove 9 hours to get there, called the PODS 1-800 number, and I explained my situation (and mistake), and was told "Too bad, nothing we can do" before they hung up. No effort to help me AT ALL. I called back and asked if I could talk to the location manager, they said "no." I was at the Earth City location while this was happening, and a couple PODS drivers pulled in. I explained my situation (and my mistake) to the drivers, who were glad to help. They said they would get my POD for me, but needed to speak to the manager to get the POD location inside (there's about 2,000). They called him, but he still wouldn't help them (by providing my POD location). The drivers apologized to me and said "He (the manager) could help you if he wanted to, but it sounds like he just doesn't feel like it." Earth City location manager is a TOTAL JERK!!! read more
