The Pella Impervia fiberglass replacement windows appear to be a superior product and they were a top contender for our rewindow project but they did not have a garden window option so we went with another company. read more

needed to replace a front window due to failed seals. we found sales support fine, understood our needs and directed us to the right product. offered discounts without asking. came out and measured. about a month later the windows arrived. the installers, a third party, did a great install except all thru the quality control process of manufacturing, in the pella store no one notices one of the windows had the seal going across glass and not in the frame. so a defective window had to be installed. we had to wait month plus for another window to be built. while it was all under warranty, no one called, no one expedited, no one cared, not even a sorry. for a so called superior window clearly the product, the manufacturing process, inspection process and the people are not. read more

My boyfriend and I recently bought a 140-year-old historic home and had some rotting wood, single-pane windows and a door that needed replacing. I got a few quotes from window manufacturers and Pella was less than another company. I was surprised by this since as an architect, I know that Pella has a good reputation and high quality. The sales person was knowledgeable and was not pushy or tried to sell us something we didn't want. Pella had a lot of good options for both the door and windows that could match the style of our home. Because of the pandemic, the manufacturing of the windows took longer than expected but understandable with all the material sourcing issues. Once they were completed, the installation process was quick. The installer arrived to our house on time each day and was efficient removing the old windows and installing the new ones. He was also very clean, removing any debris and vacuuming up afterwards. The new windows look great and simple to operate. Since they are vinyl, the upkeep is minimal and the tilt in feature makes it effortless to clean the outside. The windows came with screens as well which is something we didn't have with the old windows. The process working with the people at Pella was easy, the price was good, and the quality is great. I'm not going to suggest whether you try to work with this particular company or not. But I will post some pictures representative of the lack of thoroughness and skill of the installation team that you can expect from pella windows and doors of Chesterfield MO. I'll also add that the installation team is only half of the pella people you will work with. The other half consist of the salesmen and office staff you will have to interface with (if you are lucky to interface with them at all). You decide whether it is worth the risk or not. Our particular issues are with their unwillingness to communicate directly with us, correct sloppy or incorrect installation issues and finally just complete the job. My Pella sliding back door although not the cheapest door of my choices has worked perfectly for 22 years. Last night....not so. In fact, I sleep with it open all night. No problem I have 100 pound dog who doesn't like anybody and several other means of changes an intruder's mind. This morning I spoke with Karen who was so polite, knew her job and promised she would work on resolving my problem promptly. Let's fast forward - technician has come and gone, door fixed on this holiday weekend....he too knew his job fixed it in a hurry - and assured me I should be good for 22 more years. Great windows. Salesman showed up for quote appointment on time. Made all sorts of promises as to all of the great customer service we would receive...he would be our point of contact, he would keep us updated during the process, he might be here for install, customer service in addition to quality windows are the reason to buy directly through Pella. Lies. Had to hound salesman to find out install date. Never showed up during install. No follow up in any way. He simply disappeared after he got our down payment. No follow up from anyone else either. Install guys were nice but we had to wash our new windows inside and out after install. I thought that should be included...leave a newly installed product looking it's best...ha, didn't happen. Windows are the same Pella windows sold at countless places in town. Customer service given when buying direct from Pella doesn't even come close to the promises offered. read more

Because of the expense, I have staggered my window and door purchases over three phases and about 5-7 years. I have to say the sales person, Glen, was great, and the first two rounds of installs were great. But this third one, windows over a garage, were not great. they left multiple hand prints on the windows that were just annoying, but when the wrapped the exterior of the window with coil, as they have done every other window, the left a 1-1.5 inch gap between the coil and the siding. it looks terrible. I thought a painter could fix it, but he said he cant in good conscious caulk a gap that large because it would look so bad. So I call the sales person, he agrees, needs to be fixed. I call Customer Service, send them pictures. They do not even have on file that they installed the windows just 8 months ago. Argued with me about it, says the last windows they installed were two years ago. So... How about my money back then so I can get new windows installed from a company that knows I exist. read more

Had nine windows replaced last August 2018. As soon as the weather turned cold, I detected air coming in from several windows. Customer service sent a guy out and he agreed and said the weather stops along the bottom sash should be longer. Also the installers didn't caulk between the window frame and original frame on the inside where we also detected air flow. I paid $1,000 more for Pella to do the install, could have gotten same windows from Lowe's for same price. Installers also ran thick beads of white caulk along outside of windows which is now showing dirt and requires scrubbing to clean. Previous aluminum covers looked good but they destroyed them when putting in the replacement windows. I'm very displeased with Pella. Not the company it once was. read more

Pella Windows refereed me to OEM to get replacement blinds made. I would go anywhere but to OEM again. OEM took 3x as long as they said to make the blinds and send them to me, even with me calling every week. Then they got 40% of my order incorrect. They said they would issue refund after four weeks nothing, so I called again. This time I spoke with Kurt. Kurt started yelling at me from the beginning of our call, he was insulting and rude to an unbelievable level. At one point he said, "You can't teach stupid, you've got to go through me for a refund." in additional cuss words - emphasis added. Long story short I told Kurt I would forget about the refund, $100s of dollars, and figure out another solution than working with him and OEM. I implore you, do not give this company business. You will end up having to talk with Kurt and wish you went anywhere else. I plan on going directly to Pella to let them know about my experience as well because I have two homes full of Pella windows and being associated with OEM drastically devalues their brand. read more

This is the worst company to work with. Service is terrible. We have waited over 4 months for windows and still have not yet received them. They said we would get them in 10-12 weeks and it is past that. Now they say they do not guarantee delivery dates. They are always pushing it back. They give you the run around within the company and a million excuses. I have put in some Pella windows a month ago and the quality control is not very good. Go with Anderson windows or another brand of windows. Avoid Pella at all cost and avoid Pella of St. Louis. They are expensive and make you wait forever and the quality is subpar. read more
