Fantastic experience with the PODS delivery person named Rod! He was careful, friendly, and professional. He asked where I wanted the containers placed, checked to make sure it was right, and did everything he could to accommodate my requests. Really appreciated their positive attitude and attention to detail -- it made the whole delivery process easy and stress-free. Tiffany who followed Rod on the same day delivery also did a great job. She was careful with the placement, took time to check that it lined up exactly where I wanted, and was easy to talk to. She didn't rush and genuinely wanted to get it right. She knew I was concerned about not taking over the parking lot in my apartment complex and being "that" neighbor who doesn't show consideration for others and was very patient. I booked a pod for one month that should have been dropped off on May 24. Due to a scheduling conflict on their part, they couldn't drop it off until the 25th which would have sent us into the next months billing cycle. Which would have cost us another $460. Pods agreed to waive this fee due to it being their discrepancy and inability to accommodate the dates agreed-upon. We have still not received our refund of $460 and every time we call customer service we get the runaround saying it's in review. I find it very suspicious that this website shy's away from any email correspondence. Guess they don't want to leave a definite paper trail exposing exactly what they're doing, which is robbing us of $460 because THEY were a day late picking up our pod. This is absolutely disgusting and I wouldn't recommend them to anyone. The actual workers were great and this has nothing to do with them. I honestly feel bad for the HR department and the customer service representatives who have to deal with such shady practices and try to make them seem OK it's really messed up that they force these people to give us the runaround when it's obviously coming from higher up and if it was so easy to take out the $460 it should be just as easy to put it back. I would love an email from the company as to why this is still going on and why we're still getting the runaround about our refund being in a "review process", especially after admitting it was their fault and agreeing to a full refund. Irregardless of how much money anyone has it's totally messed up to take advantage of a customer when they're already moving between states, and spending a load of money by charging them for a full month because you the company were late a day. read more

One Star is Too Generous - Avoid PODS Summerville at All Costs If I could give zero stars, I would. PODS Summerville has been an absolute nightmare to deal with. They cancelled on us TWICE the day of service--leaving my family of four completely stranded, stressed, and sitting around waiting for hours for a container that never arrived. The first cancellation came with a completely false excuse: they claimed the street wasn't wide enough for delivery. Funny, because we had a PODS container successfully delivered to the exact same address two years ago with zero issues. Total lie. The second cancellation? Even worse. We received a notice at 11PM the night before delivery--a last-minute bombshell that wrecked our moving plans entirely. When I called to get answers, the customer service was rude, unhelpful, and borderline dismissive. I asked to speak with the manager of the storage center, and was told he "doesn't like his phone given out." Excuse me? This is a business that has completely failed its customers and refuses to be held accountable. This kind of disrespectful and dishonest service is inexcusable. PODS Summerville wasted our time, ruined our moving timeline, and then had the audacity to dodge responsibility. Save yourself the stress and go with a company that actually shows up--and tells the truth. read more

If you use PODS, buy their insurance. They advertise their PODS are kept in controlled environments with no rodents and rain. Well, some of our items were clearly destroyed by water that entered the POD. They had it for 4.5 years. We asked to be reimbursed and they said, it was not their fault, you should have bought the insurance! Very disappointed in this company. I guess they think we loaded them that way? By the way, they were loaded by professionals. Be careful and buy the insurance, we will never use them again. I would give them 0 Stars if I could. Also, they are not cheap. Delivery of the 16' container was fantastic. There was a bit of confusion between the corporate office and local provider about what type of container was needed. The first container delivered was not capable of shipment to Hawaii, and they drove a significant distance to swap it out immediately. This is my second time working with PODS and this experience was extremely wonderful compared to my last one! Roy (the driver) was friendly, courteous and very accommodating. The first time I worked with PODS was when they dropped off my POD and picked it up @700 miles away. Dealing with Roy was a dream compared to the other drivers I delt with. He called with an ETA as promised, was on time and put the POD exactly were I needed it. Then he made sure the door would open, understanding that things shift in movement. He was great and I sincerely appreciate working with him after all of the other stresses associated with moving! read more

We sold a house and needed 2 units to move. Pods has a good email notification service that provides you with a pick up window. We received an email the night before moving day with a pick up window between 8 am-11am. An attempt to pick up the units was made in the morning but there was a car in the way (not our car.) The Pods driver attempted to call us, but he called a work number and never tried the cell phone number. He claimed it was our fault because we were unreachable. He was abrupt and rude when asked why he never tried the cell number. Later that same day, we received a second email saying our units would be picked up between 4-7 pm. Pods did not come to pick up our units as promised and when we called them, they blamed us. The new owners were not happy and called Pods about the units. Without any research into the situation, Pods told the new owners that they could start the process of repossessing abandoned Pods. This was literally one day after Pods failed to pick up the units per the email we received promising a pm pickup. It is inappropriate for Pods to speak with any person who calls customer service about units that person did not rent. They engaged with this new owner in an inappropriate and unprofessional way. They told her we were out of communication with the company, which was untrue. They told her we were lying about the 4-7 pm pick up window, which was untrue. As a result of this inappropriate communication, the new owners believed we purposely left the units in the driveway. They threatened us with legal action. Thankfully, Pods has a good email notification service so we were able to use the email promising the 4-7 pm pickup to prove that we were not liars. Our experience with Pods was they are expensive, they are not necessarily reliable, and they lack communication skills. They also blame the customer for legitimate complaints about their services. We were nearly sued because of Pods. I wonder if their response to this review will be to blame me for that. read more

The pod was delivered behind my garage bay where I cannot get my vehicle out of the garage...there is ample room in the driveway, so I'm not sure why this was done. I have a baby and cannot get my vehicle out of the garage to leave my home. I have no other transportation. No one knocked on the door to ask where to drop the pod. I called customer service and gave up after 45 min wait on the phone. I then messaged online chat, and explained the situation. I explained: I have a baby and cannot leave my home I'm case of emergency, and I cannot drive to work. The chat Team member said the earliest they can move the pod is 3 days from now. Really wish their was a zero star review. The Pods facility in Summerville and the National customer service center SUCK! They didn't provide the service promised and paid for. When we tried to get customer service on the phone they refused to have the driver do what was promised Or provide a credit to compensate us for having to transport our goods to a different location to be loaded. When we asked for a manager, they said we could not speak to a manager but could have one call us back but it would be 48-72 hours before the manager would contact us and the manager would give the exact same answer. They then hung up on us. We are renting a garage apartment in a subdivision with an HOA prohibiting Pods from being left on the main road. We made a point to advise them of that when we called and they assured us that the Pod could be placed in the driveway with no issue. We set up our shipment to have Pods delivered to our driveway (off a one lane road) and they pulled up the location on Google earth to verify everything. Everything was scheduled with drop off on 6/11 and pick up on 6/15. We are moving to Hawaii and all of our other moving plans have been scheduled around this move date with Pods. All other travel arrangements were scheduled and paid for as non refundable. My husband has a construction business with lots of heavy tool boxes, etc. We spent time and money moving items from our storage facility to the garage for the move. They processed payment for over $9200 and a hold on over $500 before they even arrived to the house. When they showed up at the property, they refused to bring the pod to the driveway because they "can't go down an ally; only a road over 12' wide." We took measurements while the driver was there and the street was about 14' wide. He said it didn't matter because he wasn't going to bring it down that street because he considered it an ally. We contacted the customer service line while the driver was onsite and they confirmed that there is no policy prohibiting transport down an ally or one lane road. The customer service rep spoke with the driver and the driver claimed that the local store made up this policy for themselves. Despite being on the phone with the corporate customer service representative who said that the refusal to take the Pod to the promised drop location was against the company policy, the driver continued to refuse. The customer service rep said that there was nothing she could do to make him drop the Pod where it had been contracted to be delivered. They went on to say our only option would be for him to drop it on the main road or we could load it at their facility in Summerville. When we told him that we can't have a Pod on the main road, he went to his vehicle and left. We spent hours on the phone trying to resolve the matter with absolutely no solution. We were left with no money, no Pod, no viable backup plan to get our belongings shipped to Hawaii and NO help from Pods whatsoever to fix the situation. DO NOT USE PODS. They will take all your money, not deliver the services, and then when you try to get your money back they will lie to you or hang up on you. When we ask for the money back they say they have processed a refund 6/13 for part of the money and they are "investigating" the refund of the rest of the money, but it typically takes up to 7 days for the credit to process leaving us screwed on shipping our items when they were supposed to go on 6/15. This means that we will lose many of our travel expenses that we have already paid out for our move to Hawaii. Months of careful planning is out the window and they put us in a position where we may have to consider selling, gifting or trashing our belongings that we now have no way to ship They also deleted all of our records off of our account so we have no proof of the amount billed. PODS as a company is a bunch of scammers and liars. DO NOT USE PODS!!!!! I have filed a complaint with the BBB as well! read more

This has got to be the worst company by far. Pods has my container that they picked up in NY on August 22. First, they didn't know they picked up the pod, then we had 3 different delivery dates, no one showed,no pod. Spoke with a James for about one week, totally useless. Now we're working with Tia, spoke with her once, haven't heard from her since. It has been 42 days since I've seen my pod with all my belongings on it. Delivery and pick up went well. That is local control. Billing is centralized at main office in Florida if memory serves. There is the problem. Billing is a absolutely terrible experience. Quote charged was next day delivery, not regular delivery. Called and was assured it would be fixed. Not fixed. Called again and again was assured it would be fixed. I did receive a correct invoice. All OK? NOT AT ALL. Still charging credit card for higher invoice they did in error for next day delivery and not the corrected one for regular delivery. Now they are billing me for the difference in the two invoices. And also now looks like they want to charge me for a second month even though returned the POD before the first month as agreed. I hope that will not happen. A big issue is you have to deal with main office and not local. Talking to the billing rep you think it will be fixed. They seem to understand; however, after that nothing improves, in fact gets worse. I have challenged this all with my credit card company including sending the correct invoice as proof. Also told PODS that I will consider it fraudulent activity if they use my card again. Absolutely mess of a billing experience. Not recommended. read more

We sold our home and chose to use PODS because of the previous good experience that we had with them. Never again. The buyers used PODS as well and, despite detailed delivery instructions, the driver placed the buyers' PODS in front of our PODS so that our PODS could not be picked up on their scheduled moving date. Despite PODS owning all of the PODS involved, the driver refused to move the new homeowners' PODS. As a result we could not move and had to return to work out of state the following week forcing us to eventually put the PODS into storage when the new owners finally emptied theirs. To add insult to our not being able to move into our new home, PODS charged us additional rent and storage fees of $1,244 for the extra time that they forced on us. We disputed the charge in September and did not receive a response until December! We then learned that they were only going to refund $200 as a "courtesy." I looked through the invoices tonight and their recordkeeping of the entire incident is atrocious. I have spent hours of my life on phone and chat to resolve all of this in a friendly and patient way--understanding that people are just human and have been met with nothing but inhumanity at every step of along the way. I simply expected them to take responsibility for their mistake and refund the additional rent. It shouldn't be rocket science. They screwed up. Their complete lack of service and timeliness in addressing an issue that is entirely of their own doing is unbelievable and utterly disappointing. Update: I emailed my resolution specialist again per the business manager's request below and have received no reply. read more

Horrible experience. PODS negligently dropped our container from the third tier, hitting two other containers before crashing to the ground. Now, we find out that they will not replace our contents. They offer depreciated value only and, amazingly, also charge a deductible! Even though they admit it was their fault. They should replace all the shattered, broken and demolished goods with something at equal value rather than simply depreciating everything to zero. read more
