I don't really understand all of the negative reviews of this service department. I went for the first time today for my 5000 mile check up on my 4runner TRD. The staff and the service writer could not have been more accommodating and helpful. I was told the wait time would be about one hour and 45 minutes. So I settled in the customer lounge and had a cup of coffee and was offered donuts. After Only an hour the service writer came looking for me to tell me that the work had been completed. Everyone I encountered from the service technician to the lobby hostess to the cashier were very friendly and helpful. I would have no qualms in recommending Dick Poe Toyota. read more

So there we were, hubby and I, driving from California to Texas when our car, a Toyota Highlander, that was pulling a small trailer suddenly and completely broke down at around 7 pm right outside tiny Van Horn, TX. We stood by the side of I10 waiting for the local tow truck to come and rescue us and wondering what the next few days would be like. We spent the night in Van Horn and the next morning we decided to have the car towed to the nearest city which was El Paso - 120 miles away!!! We chose to take the car to Dick Poe Toyota and we are so glad we did. By the time we arrived at Dick Poe we had no idea how long it would take to get the car fixed and the unknowns were causing us to be quite tense. We were met by Albert who was so kind and agreed to take a look at the car as soon as they could despite that fact that it was Saturday morning and there were many people there getting their cars serviced. We waited for about an hour and a half and then Albert gave us the wonderful news that the problem was a faulty fuse that was installed by the trailer company. He replaced the fuse without charging us for it or their time and soon we were back on our journey. Based on our experience, we highly recommend Dick Poe Toyota and we commend Albert highly for his professionalism and for his kindness. He helped make a stressful situation much easier. read more

I took my Toyota Prius in to get a new battery. I first received a diagnosis with a list of over ten items that needed to be replaced from wipers to a battery. I chose to get the battery replaced along with a couple of other items totally around $520.00. When I picked up the car the display no longer functioned. I returned the car and no one would take responsibility. I talked to the employee in charge of my car and he said he did not notice the display was not working. I then talked to the manager and no one would take responsibility. I was assured the technician working on the car did not damage my car. I was then told the new bill would be over 2000 dollars to replace the screen. The display was not listed on the original list of items to be replaced. From the cashier that I paid to the employee who handled my car to the manager and the young man you had his mask down below his nose driving my car, the whole experience was poor. I do not recommend Dick Poe to anyone and I will never take my car back to this establishment. There was not one bit of service or good will from the service department. read more

I leased a car 3 years ago and it was the greatest experience, I raved to everyone they should get their car here. Hassle free and I felt like I was well taken care of. Fast forward to the Poe Toyota today and I wouldn't recommend this place to my worst enemy. I received letters and calls from Toyota saying my car was in high demand so if I turn my lease in early I can likely lower my payments. I set up an appointment to just go see what my options were. Long story short: I walked out with a newly leased car paying more than my old my lease after being told i needed to make a decision right then and there. I was told to take this deal or turn in my lease and take the bus. I stated I had medical bills so money was tight and was told to cut back on going out to eat for lunch (??). I was also told that because they were paying off my old lease early that my next payment wouldn't be for 2 months. Well come 2 months later I get a call from the finance company saying I've missed 2 payments - you may wonder how i missed that...turns out Poe Toyota had mistyped my address so I never received the bills. I know its on me for not getting up and walking out but I was put on the spot and in the moment I felt like I had no other options. This happened months ago and I never felt compelled to write a review until i found out I was straight up lied to. I knew nothing about leases but I had read you can turn in your leased car to a different dealership. When i had felt backed into a corner with the salesman I said my car has no scratches or dents and it has half the milage that it should so I would like to take it elsewhere to see if I could get a better deal. He asked why i thought I could do that and when I said I read it online he said it's true but it varies state by state and Texas doesn't allow it. I had no reason to doubt that so I let it go. In my absolute hatred of my car (newer tech but the rest of the car feels cheap) and hatred of Poe Toyota I went to Charlie Clark Nissan to pipe dream about getting a new car when my lease is up in 2 and half years. Guess what I found out? I can take my leased car to them and not ever have to deal with Toyota again. read more

DO NOT BUY FROM THIS DEALERSHIP!!!! Let me save you the hassle all they want is your money once the deal is done, the papers are signed, and they have your money they DO NOT care about you, the vehicle or anything else....we bought a used vehicle and not even three months later (we had not even made our first payment) the check engine light came on. We called the dealership and we were told that they would fix it however once they found out the engine was bad and it was going to be over $4,000 for them to fix it they told us that because we did not buy the extended warranty they were not going to fix it... If I would have known that they did not do there job in the first place in doing a inspection before the vehicle was even sold and that they were going to sell me a lemon that was going to need a lot of work then yeah I would have purchased the extended warranty but no I trusted these people and this dealership not to screw me and they did now my family and I are out of a vehicle and making $400 payments on a vehicle that has a bad engine and can break down at any moment...so if you want to be screwed over and left stranded on the side of the road then purchase your next vehicle at Poe Toyota. If you value your money and want respect and want to be taken care of as a good consumer then DO NOT purchase your next vehicle from Poe Toyota this place DOES NOT care about there customers. read more

I informed the dealer that my name had changed and to change their records. They did not. Also I changed the Licence plates on my car the previous year. They have not updated their records and now My service history does not show up in their system or CarFax. Furthermore they charged me for an oil change that does not show up on my service history...I hope they actually did it! read more

The service department is terrible. I had to threaten to show up in person because my service manager couldn't find 5 minutes to call me back in a 4 hour time span. My 2019 highlander had a failed fuel pump, related to a safety recall earlier this year for which there was no fix before now. So they tell me it'll be 5 days to get the part in - which is today. I call over and over again to get the status on my car, finally getting through after threatening to show up. They tell me they accidentally had the part shipped to the other Toyota service department in town, and they don't have time to get the part AND fix it today. If they called me back promptly I would have sent my husband to get them the part and I'd have my car back today. They don't care that they don't get work done in a timely fashion, they don't care that they are dishonest with customers, and they simply don't care about their customers. Go somewhere else and save yourself the trouble of their incompetence/laziness/apathy. read more

Every time I come here I've been greeted immediately and they have always been amazing at answering any questions, no matter how silly I sound, very throughly. Avoid Dick Poe Toyota of El Paso. His commercials may salute the military with flags waving in the background but the reality is different. I bought a vehicle while deployed to Afg and returned to El Paso only to be treated with the worst customer service ever. I didnt expect a parade but I did expect some respect as a veteran and as a customer. No, this was not the case. Poor customer service, unwarranted attitudes, made to wait with no communication, confusion in getting my car delivered, never congratulated in purchasing my vehicle and test driving it, never shown the features. It felt like because they were not going to make their ridiculous profit, they couldnt give me any of their time. I spoke to a fellow Soldier about my experience and they only laughed. Similar experience of Dick Poe. They are over charging the Soldiers and theyll do it with a smile on their face. Shaking hands and thanking us for our service then telling us that they are prior service as well as they rip Soldiers off. I hate that. Feels dishonest. My son just bought a truck this past month and has been in shop twice for high temperature and hesitation and still not fixed. Now it has front end shake. They sold truck with bad tires. My son works in law enforcement and doesn't make much money and now he has to put his hard earned money into a lemon. If they cared about their customers they would have put new tires on for him. I don't care if they are big and expensive. They get them for cost and it would have made for a happier customer. Now he needs his truck fixed which they have failed to do and new tires and hasn't made his first payment of over $700 yet. It's all about them making and saving money and not selling good vehicles and satisfied customers. read more

HORRID DEALERSHIP!!! My husband purchased a 2017 RAM Rebel less than one week ago; the detail 'men' scratched and damaged the right mirror cap. He contacted the dealer to have it fixed, which took persuading. He waits there to have it changed, finishes, and then drives home- less than 5 miles. Pulls in the garage, sees a very nice DENT with large creases in his NEW tailgate. Dick Poe GM refuses to fix it because 'his best guy in the body shop wouldn't have done that'! Worthless dealership, sadly we have spent our money there where we obviously should have shopped elsewhere. Do not worry with a dealer that just wants you in the new seat of a car/ truck and out of their hair. Customer service is NOT there business as we know now. SHAME ON YOU DICK POE! read more

Do not go to this Toyota dealership unless you want to get ripped off. They will tell you your car is in urgent need of service and ask you to pay ridiculous sums of money for that service. At my most recent experience, they asked me to pay over $4,000 worth of changes to my car at my service appointment. They said over $3,000 of that was urgent and needed to be taken care of that day. After going home (and refusing to pay that), I verified with my home toyota dealership through their computer system, that the things they said were urgent to change had been changed very recently and had over 60,000 miles to go, before I even needed to think about urgently changing them. When I told the service advisor that there was no way I was going to be able to pay for that, and I asked him which item on his long list was the MOST urgent to change, he simply chose the item that was most expensive. Even I knew that it was not the most urgent thing on the list, and I don't know much when it comes to cars. After taking my vehicle back to my home toyota dealership, they explained to me that almost everything Dick Poe told me needed to be change, in fact, was not in need of changing at all. And to top it off, as they were so concerned about finding things to rip me off with, they completely overlooked a part in my car that needed to be replaced immediately; however in their inspection, was checked off as green or in good condition. This is not the first time I have had a bad experience at this location. They are constantly trying to get me to change my air filter for $50 (something any handy man can do themselves for way cheaper and which definitely does not need changing every 6 months, even in el paso). They want me to change my wipers every time (a $70 cost at their location, which can be changed out on your own for under $12.) Save your money and energy by not going to this location. I would even drive to New Mexico just to avoid having to go here. read more

I went to this dealership to take care of two recalls on my car. I made my appointment with Jeffery for Thursday morning. He estimated the repair would take two hours and offered to shuttle me to where I needed to go. I arrived ten minutes early and was greeted at the door. The waiting area and show room were clean, comfortable, and pleasant. The service was completed at exactly two hours, and they sent my car through the wash without my asking. I am very impressed by their service. Definitely will return for future service and purchase. read more

Make sure you research everything on the vehicle you are interested in, including the possible incentives and rebates offered for that vehicle. I am somewhat lucky I did, because according to the salesman and manager at Dick Poe, there weren't any for the vehicle I wanted (there were actually two rebates). They barely budged on the asking price and we were duped on the financing. The worst part was how arrogant the manager acted during the entire negotiation process. My husband and I were very picky and probably a pain in the butt, but Andrew was very patient and helpful In the car buying process. We got everything we wanted in our car and it remained in our budget. I purchased 2019 Toyota Camry Hybrid from Dick Poe Toyota and notice a clunking sound from the left front, being I live on the far east of El Paso I took it to Hoy Fox Toyota, being in the Auto Service business for over 33 years and ASE Certified I knew it was either the front left strut of strut mount, I left it their on a Wednesday was called about an hour later by my Service Advisor and he told me they did not even need to take the car out of the lot to hear the noise it was very evident, he asked me if I could leave it overnight and I said yes, Thursday came around no update, then Friday at around 4pm I get a call telling me they checked everything could not find the source of the noise and they needed to open a task ticket so that they could have an engineer that comes around every two weeks to look at it and that he was not sure if the car was designed to make that noise , Really?? I picked up my car on Saturday asked the female advisor if I could speak to the Service Manager and with no concern said he is off today, I then told her I am really upset that I left my car for 3 days and it's leaving the same way I left it, and she said and I quote "I'm not your Advisor" I then took my car to Dick Poe Wednesday 2/27/2019 Was greeted outside by Service Advisor Jeffery explained my issue, he then called Joe Contreras the Shop Foreman and we took a test ride and immediately said, " that's your strut mount", he told me to leave the car , he put me in a rental and told me he would update me once his tech validated the issue, I received 2 updates each day from Jeffery and Joe confirming what I knew was the issue, they ordered the part and I picked up my car today and it was washed , Again greeted outside by Jeffery and Joe, this type of customer Service is outstanding, I spoke to the Service Manager to tell him how elated I was, Being a Regional Director for a Auto Service company it is refreshing to see this type of Customer Service, I am glad I did not purchase the car at Hoy Fox and will travel across town for the Service Joe and Jeff game me, Thanks Dick Poe read more

On July 22nd I took my Sion to get it annual service. After they was done they told me and my Husband to walk in the service area to the window that you sign paperwork and pick your keys. While walking though the area there was a water on the floor and I slip and fell. There was three guys that work there, not one came and help me up but one ran and got the mop. There was no Caution Floor Wet sign. My husband had to help me up. I hurt my knee when I feel on it but not to bad that I could not walk on it. I went inside and ask for a Manager. I got asst Manager Named Joe Contreras, he took my information down and told me I should hear from the Manager that was not in that day. He also ask me if I needed to go to the hospital. At the time I did not feel that I needed too. The next day my knee swollen up and put ice on it. I figure I would go to the ER and have it check out. No one from Dick Poe call me to check on how I was. So I took upon myself to call the GM Don Awtel is what I was told his name was. I left a message. It been a week and I have not heard one word from the GM or no one that work there. I work for customer service for over 25 yrs and I never seen a place that do not follow thur on their customers. I worked for Medical and it sad when people get hurt on their property no one care because they think they will get sued. I am strongly thinking about getting a lawyer. read more

If it were possible to give a rating of 0/5 I would. I was in dire need of a quality job because during the 8 months following the service date, I would be traveling all across the country doing rotations at different hospitals and I did not want to be stranded on the road. a price tag of nearly $2,000 seemed quite hefty, but I figured that that price would guarantee a quality job. Boy was I wrong in that. Quite possible the worst experience I have had at a "STEALERSHIP". Last August, I took my vehicle to the service department in order to have an alignment performed and have all four wheel bearings replaced in my 01 Tacoma. When I drove the truck home, I noticed quite a few things wrong with the truck--the steering wheel was markedly off-center, my rear differential housing was bathed in brake fluid, the CV boots clamps were cheap aftermarket ones (even though I had asked for OEM ones and was charged for OEM ones) and one of my wheels was scuffed. The dealership was closed so I had to wait until the next day to take it back. I tried cleaning off the brake fluid as quickly as possible, as brake fluid is very corrosive. By the time I got to it, the spilled brake fluid had already stripped off some of the coating from the differential housing and backing plates. Any amateur mechanic knows to wipe off brake fluid the moment it spills. So the negligence, as you can imagine, angered me. I took the truck back and they denied they scuffed the wheel, which I know they did. The wheels were new. The alignment was "redone" and still ended up being off center. I had to then leave town for school and then traveled all across the country for rotations and interviews for residency. Fast forward to today, it is evident that the alignment I had performed there was horribly done. My tires have worn poorly--they are showing marked inner toe or negative camber wear which is a function of the alignment. I needed new tires sooner than anticipated because the inside tread wore more quickly than the outside. My truck had been making a horrible rotational, grinding sound when I drove it. I replaced my carrier bearing, thinking it was that. It turns out my passenger side wheel bearing is bad and there is a lot of play in that CV axle (where it inserts into the hub). Also, as I hunted this down noise I pulled the cap to the manual hubs. It turns out they were never greased. I couldn't find any evidence of grease anywhere. This is a part they serviced during my wheel bearing replacement at Dick Poe. Moreover, as I continued my inspection, I noticed that two bolts that hold the lower ball joint were missing!!!! 2 out of the 4!!! This is another part that was serviced or at least touched during the job by their technicians. This is scary because the lower ball joints are notoriously known as the weak point of these trucks and with only two bolts holding the weight of the front end, my they could have easily failed and caused a lot in front end damages. I went ahead and checked the other bolts while replacing the missing bolts. None of the bolts had been threaded with Loctite or a thread locker, which is against what should be done. These bolts require a thread locking compound given that there hold is paramount to the structural integrity of the IFS in these trucks. As if that wasn't enough, my rear axle is leaking a lot diff oil--a tell tale sign of bad bearings. I check the bearing and there is definitely play in both rear bearing. That means my front passenger and both rear bearing are going bad and it hasn't even been a year since all 4 wheel bearing were replaced at Dick Poe. It's ridiculous. This has honestly been one of the worst experiences I have had in my life. It's shame that I cannot do anything because, due to all of the driving I did for my rotations, I am past the warranty mileage. I didn't have a chance to bring it in, because I was not anywhere near El Paso before I met the mileage warranty. All in all, Dick Poe Toyota screwed me. read more

STAY AWAY FROM DICK POE!!! Very bad experience from salesman and manager in general. Went to check a Tacoma TRD 4x4 Off Road everything seemed to be fine until we had to run some numbers, the trade in value they offered for my current vehicle was abysmal so I was losing a lot already, of course this wasn't working for me so I just told the salesman. He got mad and shouted at me because I didn't want to take his super $500 dlls "deal". This will be the last time I stop at this dealer, no one will yell at me for not making a deal where I will lose more than $8K. Besides he told me there are no discounts or specials for Tacomas ever, really? Liar! I just checked Vescovo Toyota in Las Cruces and they offer some discounts for the same truck I was looking, I will make my business there instead your loss my gain. Please stay away from this dealer unless you want rude people try to rip you off then yell at you if you don't take their "deals".
