I contacted Joseph Rose plumbing in Durham, North Carolina about three plumbing problems I was…read morehaving. They scheduled to come by my house at 1 PM on Monday. By about 1:45 they had not arrived. I called the company, but no one answered. I left a phone message. I was called back in a couple of hours and, and the secretary/scheduler informed me that the job they were on was taking longer than expected. She then asked me if they could reschedule for tomorrow. I stated that that was not convenient for me. I finally relented and agreed to meet them on Tuesday. If I recall, the one technician was about 30-45 minutes late. She informed me that she had not been told about fixing the lack of shower hot water or about cleaning the mold out of our faucets but had only been told about cleaning the water heater! She arrived and started to flush the water heater. She then informed me that her new water pump that she needed for that job was defective and kept tripping the circuit breaker. She asked me if she could come back the next day at 8:30 AM! This was early for me in terms of usually sleeping longer, but I agreed in order to get the ordeal finished. She came with a young helper, and they completed the work. Rose appeared to be competent and, furthermore, she communicated well with me which was an appreciated change from her handler/scheduler. She and I talked about the benefit of the whole house water filter. She stated that she would get some information and send a proposal. That never happened. As you can gather, there are two significant problems with Joseph Rose plumbing, according to my experience with them. One is the absence of adequate and efficient communication, and the other is a lack of follow-up on what they say they will do.

Had inspection done for what I thought might be termite damage of my porch steps. He found no termite activity and said the stair damage was from wood rot/water damage. I really appreciate the time he spent inspecting the house and explaining what he found, especially since he didn't charge anything for the inspection. What really impressed me was that he didn't try to push me into buying a treatment or maintenance program. He gave me some options for preventative treatment, if I so desired, but didn't push me to have anything done. Just said to let him know if later I decided I was interested in doing something.
