I visited the Pojoaque Supermarket when I was staying a couple exits away at the casino. They have a surprisingly good mix of grocery items. Prices are pretty decent and there are a few items that are stocked that are gluten-free, which is great if you're a celiac like me. The deli counter closes really early and there was a sign that the fresh salsas were located in a specific area after hours. I probably did 5 laps and couldn't find it. My hotel room didn't have a microwave and the deli closing so early meant I was out of luck for something a little more filling. Overall, pretty decent for where you're at. Nice little market for the area which was really convenient when we were staying at the nearby Hilton Buffalo Thunder. The prices were surprisingly good for a smaller grocery store and everything appeared clean and well-stocked. Would recommend if you need groceries while in the neighborhood. read more

If you are driving from Albuquerque to southern Colorado skip Santa Fe and give this great market your business. The best is their bakery and baked goods. Really great. And staff is very nice and parking is easy. No it's not "Kroeger" but I prefer to support this smaller market. read more

I wanted to leave a fair review because I thought the previous ones were pretty rotten. I live in California and was traveling, so it's not like I rely on this as my home grocery. Having said that, I thought it was fine. Maybe low on produce, but had everything I could think of, and prices were totally fair, which is impressive because they really could gouge, being the only game in town. I didn't notice an emphasis on sugary or junk foods any more than any supermarket anywhere. Was laid out exactly like most I've been to. Same with alcohol.. they have it but it didn't feel "in your face". Most importantly, I thought the employees were friendly and helpful. read more

This is a small local market. It has to be one of the cleanest, well organized, and friendly places to shop. It has mostly the basics. The hot bar at the deli counter has delicious food. The staff is helpful and kind. If I lived here full time I'd shop here frequently. Previous reviews of one star, in my opinion, are baseless. read more

This is the best and most convenient little market. Everyone is friendly and helpful. Prices are more reasonable than WalMart and larger supermarkets chains. There is a great selection of produce, organic and otherwise. I love this little market. You will too. read more

This update unfortunately finds little improvement at this store. The very worst in customer service, and the very worst in community service. It is 7:45 on a Monday morning, and the number of employees in the store number is more than the seven of us in line. Apparently there is only one employee assigned as a cashier, along with one young man who is bagging. The cashier is texting while she waits for the credit cards process. Once done with my transaction, this young lady does not thank me for my business, but quickly returns to her smartphone. The manager is up in the booth behind the not quite one-way glass, sharing a laugh with one of the senior clerks. I have seen at least four other of the on duty clerks run the registers previously, but this morning they kinda wander around, poking vaguely at various tasks. An older gentleman comes to the line, and immediately the young man who has been bagging opens another register. The rest of the customers are, as they say, chopped liver. Besides the worst individual customer service, one might wonder how this Pueblo owned business serves its Native population. It makes plenty of money as the only grocery store for twenty miles around. But how much of that comes from point-of-purchase sales of tobacco, sugar and lottery tickets to a poor people plagued by diabetes, cancer and other diseases. Clearly, victims who have internalized the colonizer. The struggle continues. read more

Barely there. It's fine for the basics, I guess, but the produce leaves much to be desired, and the bread selection is enough to drive one to despair. The only reason this place is still in business is that it's the only supermarket in the area. read more

The fruit and vegetable trays from the deli are awesome. The fruit is very fresh and sweet and the prices are reasonable. I had to get a medium size fruit and veggie tray for a funeral and it was only a total of $65. The two trays fed ~15 people with plenty of leftovers. read more

I was looking for a cell phone charger, and let's just say this store is bigger than it looked from the outside. An employee saw the confused look on my face, she helped me look for the item and we found it together. I was very stressed out that i couldn't find a charger in this small town, i'm very thankful this little store sells them. i landed up buying some other stuff and overall i had a great experience. i'm used to fast paced no smiles shopping in the city, this was a good change of pace. read more

A-OK. Much better than a gas station quickie-mart. The Pojoaque Supermarket is an old-school independent store. Lots of great choices of unique salty snacks, like Mango with chili from Thailand, pistachio nuts with either red chili or green chili. And, the locally roasted almonds were very tasty. Busy for a Saturday mid-morning. But, the check out was fast & efficient. And, all the staff seemed to have a smile on their faces. read more

I shop here because it is way more pleasant than shopping at Walmart. Their produce is decent and they usually have good cheeses and dairy products. Staff is friendly and I like supporting a local merchant rather than a corporate giant any day. read more

This is a "better than nothing" supermarket. It's ok at best, they have all the essentials that you NEED, but limited options in terms of organic, gluten free, etc. and sometimes the fruit and veggies are old and not very fresh. I can actually look past all that.. what really irks me about this supermarket is the staff. About half the staff are horribly rude - most of them have this woe is me attitude. No nutritional food here. All veggies and fruit are GMO laden. The so-called 'Bakery' carries bread containing HFCS. And then we wonder why obesity doubled or more over the last 3 decades. Some people friendly but inattentive. read more

I read a review that gave little credit to the market for the good they do so I decided to write how great they are. Keep in mind this is not a chain supermarket. it is a little smaller and may not have all the things you find in a big store. But they have a good dairy dept, frozen, bakery and grocery dept. The meat dept is OK. The produce dept was recently upgraded and is really nice now. They even have an organic section. In addition I have found cool things in the store like blue corn pancake mix, non GMO cheeses, local chile fresh in season and powder. They have a nice floral dept with really nice reasonably priced greeting cards by the company Leanin' Tree. You can get a cup of fresh pinon coffee and a tasty breakfast burrito while picking up your newspaper. They have paper products, hardware and school supplies. Yes, they sell alcohol and it is great when you need a bottle of wine or whatever you want. It's not as if people are hanging around consuming alcohol. The staff is fine. They do the job well and they are friendly enough. They provide paper bags, not plastic and they will take them back to recycle. I don't think you could get a better small town market. Some towns only have a convenience store. We are fortunate to have Pojoaque market. It's a blessing! read more
