Nice little market for the area which was really convenient when we were staying at the nearby Hilton Buffalo Thunder.

I recently discovered the amazing variety of breads offered in their bakery. When I shop at Whole…read moreFoods, I crave everything they have to offer, not really settling on one item. Realize that choosing bread is even more difficult since it's only inches away from the delicious and calorie-laden pastries. My eyes slowly glance over but my brain stops me from making a decision that I will regret. (Often I nly after I sink my teeth into a sweetness. ) BUT I do have control and ask for a loaf of my favorite breads, Olive Loaf and Forbidden Rice Sourdough. Now I have a purpose and I can go straight to the bakery without getting sidetracked (sometimes!) The bakers oblige me with thinly sliced fresh bread. Besides the difficult traffic and parking, I patiently and slowly find a parking spot less than too far to begin my Whole Food addiction.

First I have to say WTF. And I've probably been going to Whole Foods since before most of the staff…read morewere born. So will start with them. The staff I dealt with were all super nice. Guy at bakery, checkout and bagger. Wonderful. But the store is really run down. Reminds me of the "old" Carlisle location. Now I feel really happy to be in Albuquerque and have the nice Carlisle location. I'm shocked this location hasn't been updated. The staff all need raises because the customers are a taco short of a combo plate. Almost run over parking (handicapped parking) and people just walked right in front and behind car. Again handicapped. Whole Foods get it together and update the store and parking. It's so sad as if I would have known would have gone to the Albuquerque location. It also might be nice to set up numbers for bakery and deli as customers are so rude. Again woman with a cane getting run over and pushed in front of. As a native Californian and New Mexican since 2019 it's just sad.

This Trader Joe's in Santa Fe is the closest to me - a five-hour drive!…read more I should have stocked up on more of my favorites the last time I was here in spring of 2024. The produce looked real good. I'm not big into frozen stuff, but they always seem to have interesting items. Love their coffees and teas. Cheeses and wines. Sometimes they have craft beers that are decent. I miss shopping here often because they sell items that are hard to find or different. Like all the TJ's I have been to, this one stays busy; however, the crew keeps it fairly clean and organized. The cashiers moved quickly and the man that checked us out was amicable and chatty. The only major pitfall I remember was the super tight parking spots and a few ultra grumpy locals.

Joes is Joes, can't fix that, but the layout of the Cordova store is dreadful. They keep messing…read morewith the checkout lanes, insisting on "end caps" which have now been moved to center between the cashier space. That space is TWICE the width of what is left for the paying customers (us). It gets worse every year. And also contemptuously, Joes continues the impulse junk like we're idiots. I can understand Smiths doing it, but Joes should be different and better. It is very inconvenient to get through the customer lane if anyone else is there and we're not sure we really want to be that familiar with strangers. The clerk today couldn't have cared less when I mentioned that the New Narrower For You! lanes were too close. They need to remove a couple checkout lanes. The Cordova store should send a delegation to San Francisco, where we recently shopped at the Fulton & Laguna intersection store. ONE LINE! Brilliant! And the line feeds into a fairly open area with about 10-16 spots, not lanes, where the cashiers hang out. Is there any hope that the Cordova Joes management will wake up and make the checkout experience at least tolerable? (nope i don't think so either). And please corral the obstructive flower shop at the entry! Convene a Board of Customers to go through the store with an attentive professional management team and fix this place.

It helps so there isn't as much crowding while you're trying to go through. I have been to farmers markets in multiple states, but I have never seen one with a gift shop! That was very interesting to see. The market itself had a nice array of fresh produce, food, and artists' work. It was cool getting to see them roasting fresh chile and the band that played was soo much fun! The best booth for us was Dancing Turtle Studio. Absolutely stunning pieces of art and my guy bought me one of the hot air balloon pieces to commemorate our 1st anniversary. It honestly couldn't have been more perfect! The artist herself was incredibly sweet and wonderful to talk with. It was amazing getting to hear about her process as well!
