Kalua Pork

I would give this place a 4-4.5 star rating. We came in on a Saturday night for ladies night. The decor of the restaurant was decorated so well in Hawaiian theme. The show is $50 per adult and you get a 3 course dinner included. They also have tons of tropical drinks you can order along with appetizers that cost extra. One of my friends ordered some appetizers for the table...... pot stickers (were just ok), traditional poke tuna (I would have opted for the California way just because the tomatoes that were mixed in was a weird choice for me), and the short ribs (these were phenomenal!!!! If I lived down here I would come here and just order those to go for dinner). You were also able to choose one option for dinner. Half of us chose the pork and half chose the salmon. Both were very good. The show was decent. Also had some audience participation. Would have liked to see some male performers but at the end of the show she did say there are different "acts" that rotate nights. If there is anyone looking to celebrate a birthday or just looking for something different to do I would definitely point them down that way!

This place is so cute!! The tiki vibe is amazing, it is a little small but even when it was busy we could still have conversations and not hear the other tables. The food is fantastic!! Everyone loved their meals. The cocktails were delicious!! The show is fun, I loved every minute! Can't wait to go back!

From the moment you step in, the ambiance transports you out of the suburbs of Chicago and into a Polynesian land, with every detail carefully curated to make you feel like you've discovered a hidden gem. It's the kind of place that makes you want to linger, and soak in the atmosphere! The food was excellent across the board - fresh, well-prepared, and thoughtfully presented. You can tell there's real care behind the menu. Every dish we tried had its own personality, with great flavor and attention to detail. What really stands out, though, is how unique the overall experience is. Tilki Terrace doesn't feel like just another restaurant - it offers something different and something you will remember. It's the kind of place you'll want to tell your friends about! Recommend if you want to try something new! We feel like we learned things about a beautiful culture and got to be personally immersed - they like to call people up to the stage who are celebrating events. But that's pretty special, when else can you get first hand immersion like that. I do think there's some opportunity to expand on the show to make it better, but comparatively I haven't come across another place like this so a great find for the area.

Such a cute vibe in there! It's like you're at a Hawaiian resort- so cute. There was a ukulele group performing that also helped set the mood. The food was so good, I recommend the garlic shrimp! The taro chips were interesting as well but I loved the mango salsa it came with. Our waiter was very nice! Overall good service. Would totally come back soon

View from the hot table

Really disappointing experience. The service was poor -- my first drink was undrinkable, and even though the waitress offered to replace it, I was charged for both drinks. Also I emailed the restaurant about the drinks and failed to get a response. The group we were with asked for a second drink that didn't come until the end of dinner- The room looks much larger online, but it's actually small and uncomfortably hot. It felt like the air was barely on as our group wiped sweat off our foreheads half the night. For three people, the bill came to over $300, which made the whole experience even worse. We each had "1" drink, two apps and the set menu you are to choose from. If you enjoy sweating through your night while watching an average show and drinking overpriced, mediocre cocktails, this might be your place. Otherwise, I'd skip it.

I was very blown away from entering this tiny cute restaurant. I was expecting mediocre decor etc BUT no! It is full on Hawaiin decor. It's so nice and cute! Our bartender/server Jessica, was so sweet and made really good drinks. The pineapple drink is so cool, I really liked it. My coconut shrimp was delicious, very coconutty. The egg rolls were too good and they give you a lot! The loco moco with spam was very very tasty! Would come back, it's really good.

I reserved an early Saturday night dinner and show with my family. According to their website, it is recommended to arrive between 3:30 and 4:30 so that you get a chance to drink and eat before the show. We arrived at 4:15 and our table was right in the front, middle by the stage. Its $50 per adult and $23 per kid. That includes a salad, main course, dessert, and the show. Of we had to get drinks on top of that. Costs about $14 each for my Pina Colada and my husband's Mai Tai but they make it look so pretty! We also had an appetizer of Bora Bora Eggrolls, which is also an extra $12. They were crispy and tasty. The salad was delightful and fresh with the perfect dressing. My husband and I shared two meals: The Kalua Pork and Coconut Chicken. They were both delicious but I really enjoyed the Kalua Pork: so juicy & tender(as advertised on the menu) and that Guava BBQ sauce was yummy. The coconut chicken was well fried &.scrumptous. My almost 7 yr old ordered the kids cheeseburger with fries. That, too, was completely demolished. The show started around 5:20pm. This beautiful lady walks on stage blowing a horn and two other beautiful ladies walk on stage. The first lady was the main emcee and dancer herself while the other two were dancers. They all performed so well and kept us entertained. Mid show the Emcee announced all the birthday celebrants and anniversary celebrant. It was nice they were all acknowledged and I wish I had said on the reservation that I was celebrating something but I wasn't, and so I didn't. Near the end they called up some male volunteers on stage to follow and dance. A little audience participation is always fun. Although on the pricey side, overall it was a great experience. A place to take a friend or relative to celebrate a special occasion or like me, just to celebrate summer.

Ambiance was full with lots of details and it felt as if you were in Hawaii. The food was alright. I've had better. I wouldn't go for the food again. It lacked seasoning and was just okay. I would go for the show again. The show was very interactive, authentic, and funny! Service was okay. Wish there was just an option to watch the show and have drinks. In order to watch the show, you must purchase a dinner and show package (50 dollars each person) I didn't think the food was worth it unfortunately.

There's always good vibes in the tropics Went to Tiki Terrace to celebrate our 9 year anniversary and it was so amazing! Right when you walk in to see the tiki bar and feel those tropical vibes! Everyone gets a dinner menu with the show that goes on and it's so much to choose from and the drinks were fantastic! We chose the coconut chicken and the pork and it came with two sides rice and macaroni salad! And of course we had pina coladas and a mango colada The hula performance is incredible and they speak to the crowd and tell us all about the history of the dances they do! Overall-- we had an amazing time it's definitely a place to check out if you want to feel like you're in Hawaii

Fun? Sure. Different? Sure thing. Could it be better? Way! The whole thing is just "long in the tooth."Thats it. Needs a fresh reworking. WHERES THE FIRE? (Last time I remember fire dancers.) Considering the price-The show should offer MORE. Production values are WEAK. Having said that- I had a ball. Or right next to it. Its a strip-mall after-all. Cocktails are haphazardly made not crafted - but w/ lovely flowers adorning them. Food is cafeteria level. All the same I am glad this place exists.

A year and a half later, here's my second review on this Tiki place. While vacationing from Honolulu back in my home town, I called to make a reservation for 6 adults, I took the regular $49.50 per person package, hoping this place had changed for the better ( hell nah ! ) that's why I 'm only giving it 1 star again, just so I can get my review in. I spoke to real nice lady who wasn't that bright, I asked her; " I took the regular package of $49.50 per person, that comes up to about $ 297, as I understand it, taxes are included" she stated; " It'll probably go up ", I asked her; " Each one ? How much ?", she stated; " I don't know ", I asked her ; " Why is it going to go up ?", , she stated; ": " I don't know ". I told her; You don't know too much do you, why are you answering the phone ?, Listen Honey, I'm 69 years old, throw that bone to someone else, Mahalo ". I mean I understand that if I order anything outside of what is included in the package, it will be xtra, as it is, the food that is served in the package taste like trash , you have to order outside of what your package deal includes, to get the real good tasty food, like coconut shrimps , ice cream, and believe me, they are not cheap. As far as the ambiance , they have no fire dancers, if they did, then they could really call themselves a realistic trip to the Hawaiian islands. Can't wait to get back to the real thing. If you got money to burn, don't mind throwing it into the garbage, watching a cheap show, I guess is ok, but I would not recommend this place, mahalo for reading my 2nd review on The Tiki Terrace.

I sincerely have no idea how this plays, but have anything but four or five stars for their business because this is one of the best restaurants I've been to in quite a long time. Now keep in mind I've never had authentic Hawaiian food, but the taste, and the quality and the portions all seem so legit to me that whether or not in its place it's the mark for being truly authentic I may be able to speak to but can say it doesn't even matter because it's just that good. The hospitality, the service, the wait times, the performance, coconut, shrimp, pork, and really everything that this place has to offer is exceptional. I cannot wait to go again. The piña colada's were also very yummy. We went here for an epic holiday event one that will always be remembered. They turned the main floor into a dance floor and it was a blast.

Let's get the logistics out of the way. Plenty of parking. Entrance is in the back (more on that). Dress is casual, but dressing up like 1920's gangsters would add to the fun. This place is great for groups or large families. Plan on spending about 3 hours for dinner and the show. Recommendation: Get there a little before 6:00 and line up at the back door (that is where the entrance is). At 6:00, use the big, brass knocker and knock on the door. Then, when Gloves comes to the door, whisper "I am here to make a deposit." "Gloves" is super fun, so play this up. No other spoilers so you can enjoy the show. Food. We had the steak, and it was delish! Perfectly done at medium rare and full of flavor. Loved the mixed vegetables and baked potato, too. The rolls and salad were average. Cocktails. Great selection of fun, themed cocktails. Look for "Al's Favorite" on the chalk board at the bar and on the top of the cocktail menu. All four drinks we had were great. Mugsy makes some good giggle juice. Service. EXCELLENT. The team is talented, and they work hard to serve you while putting on the show. They stayed in character the whole time, and the jokes were FANtastic! Finally. RELAX and ENJOY the show. I have not smiled and laughed that much since the Nate Betgatze show at Bridgestone at Christmas. Vito and his team are simply FABULOUS and FUN! This gets a MUST DO if in the Chicago area. After my wife nearly fainted (LOL), the party kicked off right away. All the characters are played by people you choose, which made for a ton of participation--and luckily, my friends and family are all a little nuts, so they totally went for it. The 1920s theme was super fun, and the folks I picked to be the "victims" really hammed it up. The company provided scripts for the key players and gave great direction to keep things moving. This is surely one of Chicago's best-kept dining and entertainment secrets (it's in a rather…read moreobscure location). It's basically a cabaret - a combination of fine dining and interactive Cirque Du Soleil-style entertainment in an intimate setting. The elaborate décor will blow your mind. It's absolutely gorgeous. The quality of the food far surpassed typical dinner theatre fare. Each of the four courses was artfully plated, served at the proper temperature, and downright delicious. The goat cheese bell pepper scones app was more of an amuse bouche than a true course and no other bread was served (unless you order Parkerhouse rolls, an à la carte add-on that costs $16. Indeed!). After that, though, portions were ample. The bourbon peached glazed salmon entrée, plated with inventive side dishes, was perfection. Other à la carte dishes and entrée upgrades are available but no one in our party felt the need to order those. The service was impeccable. Variety acts were interspersed between courses - singers, dancers, a juggler, a comedian, an aerialist, and more. There was a lot of talent but it was comic actor Joe who stole the show, portraying several roles. Totally enjoyable and well worth the ticket price.

I bought tickets to the 1:30 pm show on Mother's Day. Tickets were $76.95 each, but I was able to get 15% off directly from their website for Mother's Day so I actually paid $65.41 each. I also decided to upgrade to their Queen's package which is an additional $30 per ticket. So overall, I paid around $190 for my mother and I. The doors open at noon- which is around the time we got there. For check in- this is where you are assigned a knight to root for. We got the black and white knight. We also got our VIP lanyards and our package came with taking 2 photos! They didn't open the doors to the arena until approximately 1:00 pm. They have an area just outside of the arena where you can order drinks from the bar, buy souvenirs, watch the horses eat, etc. Once the arena opened we were seated in table number 3 (which is actually the first row). For food we had a tomato basil soup, garlic bread, a very large chicken, and corn on the Cobb. With the Queen package you also get a slice of cake. The food surpassed my expectations, it was really really really good! Everything was. There was not one mediocre dish on my plate- everything was tasty and I wasn't expecting that. My piece of chicken was humongous. The whole meal was super filling. Side-note: we had to eat everything with our hands, because this is medieval times! So, there will be no silverware for you. And of course, my knight won! So that was a plus. Overall, this is a great event for all ages. Me and my party had tons of fun, and we're all grown. I took home a crown, a glass (I got to keep from ordering from the bar), I took home my lanyard, my little flag I was waving around, and I took home our pictures that was included in the package. So, you definitely do not leave empty handed. I really enjoyed this experience! I thought it was super fun!

We didn't really try the food but there is a two drink minimum or an order of food so we just did two drinks it's a bit pricey so just need to expect that. The service was great the our server was always there checking up on us and asking what we needed so that's also a good thing. Will definitely come back and see more shows here. Happy watching!

Went to see Shular King Sunday night and it was a treat! The MC and opening comedians were awesome…read moreand hilarious! They warmed up the crowd for Shular indeed! Shular was fantastic! Great time, he was hilarious and we definitely need to laugh more! We enjoyed our first time here! It's a 2 item minimum (drinks OR food) which is cool. We aren't drinkers all the time and we drove 45 minutes so we didn't wanna drink. We ordered food and it was good! We had a Caesar salad, seasoned fries, cheeseburger eggrolls and a brownie sundae. All tasted great! Looking forward to catching another show soon!
