I recently tried my first Poké bowl restaurant January in a different state, and I fell in love. Back home to the Region I found this little gem. My biggest thing on new places is consistency since that will make or break a place next to customer service and price. Everyone working is nice, pleasant and very thankful. I was a bit sad at the portions they were using a 2 ounce scoop maybe?? Could be haven't hit their stride being new. I would suggest going in to order to maybe nudge them for a little more of this and that. Over all I've been super happy with all of my choices....till this evening. My Husband ran in for me for a "to go." When we got home I was looking for the big hole in my bowl as on visit four the portions shrunk!!! I will add more pictures for you to see. Now if I love a place I'll make the drive to go eat since it is in Schererville and I live in North Hammond. I however will not if this skimping continues. Yes prices are up (as is everywhere) and maybe the concept is not ready for these times, I do not know. You can pay for extra proteins and other items such as avocado, Masego, and mango to name a few. Also the sauces are named differently on the to go menu, and on line...eel sauce is called sweet sauce, spicy mayo has a different name as well. Again, I suggest going in and watching them. On one of my visits the kind man put too much sauce on, but I don't count that as a negative. I will definitely go back for my fifth visit to see if they were just having "a day!" For those of you that will not try/eat raw tuna or salmon no worries, they make bowls with shrimp or chicken but why order that @a Poke place? P.S. They have a "punch card" 10 visits one free bowl. Also check the paper menu inside for a 10% off coupon. Enjoy

Great fresh meal. Picked up to go meals and they were in nice bowls with tight lids that won't accidentally open. Great flavor

It was so silky, smooth, and utterly delicious. My wife and I agreed that it was the best hummus we've ever had and we've been eating hummus for decades. For a main course, we had the mixed grill we upgraded to shrimp instead of a coughed up and had steak and chicken . Everything came out piping hot and it was the juiciest chicken and steak and shrimp. It was simply amazing for the food on the plate. Also came with the yellow rice and a red rice. Both were good although I did like the yellow butter. It also included pickled vegetables which tasted out of this world. The meal also came with a salad, consisting of cucumbers and tomatoes and lettuce and herbs. It was quite good. I appreciated it and it's coming home with me. It's a very cute little place on the inside quiet with nice decor and the food is simply amazing. You'll definitely be back. I cannot recommend this higher overall I give it in 9.4. Upon arrival we were immediately seated at a high top in the bar area. They had several big screen TVs on playing both sports and news. We came hungry and ordered a good variety of menu items including a few of their seasonal drinks as well as several shared appetizers. My favorite was the chicken eggs rolls. They really stuff them up and there's so much flavor. The dipping sauce is tasty as well. The lobster Rangoon was an accidental order, I asked the waitress how they were and next thing you know they were brought out to the table. I agreed to keep them and did enjoy them. They were a little pricey at $24 but I understand lobster isn't cheap. The bbq chicken pizza was ok but didn't have the bbq sauce flavor I was looking for. Good while hot but nothing I would order again. The side salad was literally just a bowl of lettuce so I wouldn't do that again either. I felt the menu had a lot of good options and choosing what to order was hard. Our server was great and the busser was attentive and helpful as well. I'm excited to have a place like this in the area. The vibey ambience, good service and overall yummy food makes me want to come back again and try more. Tip: they accept inKind which is a plus because I was able to save a little $ on the bill.

Morgan was the bartender and she was great. She has an amazing personality. I ordered the broccoli cheddar soup and fried tomatoes. Yes I read the description but aesthetically the food looked inedible and the tomatoes weren't ripped. I don't even know why they are on the menu. They need to be revamped just crab, sauce, and avocado. Perhaps the jam on the side. I ended up order the bang bang shrimp and they didn't disappoint. They were light and weren't too saucy. The flavor was perfect. We also had the lobster rangoon. Those did not disappoint either. It taster fresh. My friend ordered the lobster roll and the lobster was fresh as well and had a good flavor. I had no issue with the burger, but for me personally I would add caramelized onions and jalapenos next time.

As always, the restaurant was clean and well maintained. We were seated in the coffee shop area, which was about half full. Our server greeted us immediately with a warm smile and welcoming personality. She promptly took our drink orders and returned shortly after to take our meal selections. We started with an order of chicken livers. There was a bit of confusion because on a previous visit I had ordered a half portion of the appetizer. I asked for that again, but the server seemed unsure. When the bill arrived, we were charged the full $16 appetizer price. After checking with the manager, she informed us that half portions are no longer offered. Had that been clearly explained upfront, I likely would not have ordered them. That said, the livers were outstanding -- possibly the best I've ever had. I requested the onions well done, and they came out perfect. The livers were tender, buttery, and beautifully seasoned. Honestly, they were hearty enough to be a meal on their own. My wife ordered the boned breaded perch lunch portion. We've had it several times before and it has always been excellent. The light breading allows the tender, flaky perch to shine. One small disappointment: there is now a $2 charge (noted on the menu) for melted butter to accompany the perch. I ordered the breaded frog legs, which we've also enjoyed in the past. They were delicious again. The same $2 charge applies if you want melted butter with the frog legs. Lunch portions include a side -- mashed potatoes with gravy, the daily vegetable (green beans), and a choice of four slices of marinated beets or coleslaw. Unfortunately, the green beans were served at room temperature. Aside from the misunderstanding regarding the appetizer portion, the service was excellent. We will definitely be back.

On my second visit a year later, I decided to give it another shot--this time opting for the traditional version instead of the smoked one. It was better, but still only average at best. It was also served warm, and the ice melted quickly, suggesting the glass or drink wasn't properly chilled. The martini was also underwhelming--it tasted mostly like juice, with little to no noticeable alcohol. As for the food, the starters were definitely the highlight. The French onion soup was actually very good. However, the main courses didn't live up to expectations. I ordered the steak medium rare, but it came out closer to medium well--overcooked and under-seasoned. The chicken Vesuvio was also disappointing; the sauce tasted like it came from a jar, and neither it nor the rice stood out in any meaningful way. On a positive note, the ambiance was very nice. The lighting created a pleasant atmosphere, and the staff was friendly and attentive throughout the meal. Overall, while the setting and service were enjoyable, the food and drinks didn't justify a return visit.
