I had lunch on Sunday afternoon, 9311 Calumet Avenue, Munster, IN, November 30, 2025 @ noon. The restaurant was clean, hostess seated me immediately! My waitress was Shanetra something like that, anyway she did not disappoint. Very pleasant and accommodating. Offered suggestions on the menu etc. when my food came.... OMG is all I can say! It was so damn good. Every morsel. I hadn't gone to a red lobster in years and I will definitely go back to this location and will request the same waitress. If you're thinking about going to this place, please run and beat the door down to get in because she won't be disappointed.. if I could give 10 stars I would.

Red lobster has been declining in my opinion. Trying new things on the menu has been a gamble for me. At first I ordered the crispy flounder, theme they brought it out it was 4 fillets of fried fish. I was off put because from what I remember the crispy flounder was one fillet over a bed of couscous with two sides. The manager came over and took that plate away and asked me what I would like to replace it with. I ordered what I would usually get which is the trio of shrimp. I seen pictured the shrimp was good. My friend got the lobster and shrimp Alfredo. They said it tasted decent. It lacked flavor, but it was a good amount. Two people could share that. The lobster flatbread was decent. My favorite part of it was the crust and the edges. The main part of the flatbread was flavorless. Red lobster needs to bring back what they were doing in the 2000s. The food was just better back in the day. The biscuits were somewhat decent. Some of the biscuits will be flavored and the others would be bland and dry. I'm not really a fan of red lobster. I've heard a lot of mixed reviews about the seafood boil, it is pretty expensive for the amount that you get along with what comes in the boil. It's just mostly shrimp and sausage. I was happy that I was accommodated properly for my meal. The ambience of red lobster is the same very chill and lots of boat decorations. This establishment was clean.

I've dined here only about three times - each time by either CARRYOUT or DELIVERY...never dined inside. Although the food quality and speed of service haven't been consistent - it's not terrible. In fact, the most recent order was probably the BEST and FRESHEST I've had yet. I won't say it's perfect, and there is a LOT of packaging when you get carryout or delivery...but it was at least hot and edible.

I was in the neighborhood after a doctors appointment and was hungry as usual. Decided to go to Red Lobster, I love this place; service is Always Good crowed or not. I just wish the lighting was a bit Brighter because it's my Mom's Favorite spot but some lose of her sight makes her want to order & eat at home. I ordered a drink for starters (can't recall the name) but every bit of Delicious. I ordered an appetizer...seafood stuffed mushrooms; then for lunch I got 1 of the feast. It comprised of Shrimp scampi, popcorn shrimp and fried Flounder. DELICIOUS. Due to the fact that I am a rewards member...I got Free dessert. The chocolate cake to go.

The Lobster Tail and Shrimp was great.

We visited this Red Lobster located in Munster, Indiana and was absolutely amazed. This restaurant was clean beyond expectations, it smelled beautifully (like a seafood restaurant is supposed to) and the service was AWESOME! Like I said, I was amazed. My wife ordered a bacon cheeseburger (not much of a seafood fan) and my son I both ordered the Lobster Tail & Shrimp entree. It was perfect. It was complete Heaven. Thank you.

It's been a while since I've been to this location. Food and drinks were good and fresh. Service was very friendly and welcoming. Would recommend.

Biscuits are always good. Roasted Brussel sprouts no. Cook did not trim them so were they even washed? Tough to eat with core still on them

I came here for lunch because I was craving some seafood. I came around 12pm and there weren't too many people eating there yet. It took awhile for my server to arrive since they were short staffed. By the time my waiter (Victor) arrived, I was ready to order. Victor brought out my drink, the cheddar bay biscuits, and then the Caesar salad. I just started the salad when my order came out. Drink: raspberry iced tea. Light and refreshing. Not overly sweet and had a good raspberry flavor. Victor even brought me a to-go cup filled with the tea. Entree: lobster topped stuffed flounder. The flounder was cooked perfectly, was flakey/buttery, and cut nicely. A nice buttery beurre blanc sauce was drizzled on top. There was a generous amount of the lobster. The stuffing was under the flounder. I didn't really care for the stuffing. I think the drink would have been fine without it. I also has quinoa rice, which was cooked nicely and there was a generous amount.

Hair found on plate of shrimp.

This, combined with the fact that a long-time favorite (Smoked Salmon Pasta in a Lemon Cream Sauce) was removed years ago, has been most disappointing and the restaurant no longer is of much interest to me. On the plus side, there are still some good appetizers and entrees and the portions are very generous, a major plus since I was able to take my entree home, add some additional vegetables and cheese, and season it w/ a variety of fresh herbs. We ordered the Black Bullet party pack which comes with two pounds of brisket and two large sides. We went with fries and beans, and also added ribs, mac and cheese, and buns to the order. The brisket is still the star of the show. The spice rub on it is perfect, and it's so tender that it's unreal. The fries are exactly the kind of battered fries I like which was a pleasant surprise because I feel like not many places do them that way. The beans were okay... a little sweeter than I personally prefer, but they had huge chunks of pork in them that I definitely appreciated. We also added two slabs of ribs, and they fell right off the bone. I'm usually not a huge ribs person, but these were well cooked and flavorful. Mom loved them, and that's what really matters. We did have a few small issues with the order. We realized that our mac and cheese was unfortunately missing when we got home. They also ran out of pretzel buns midway through packing things up, so we ended up with a mix of pretzel and brioche buns instead. Honestly, we didn't mind that one too much because it gave us a chance to try both (I'd pick pretzel if I were you). When we picked up the order the place was absolutely packed, so it was hard to be upset over an honest mistake. They were clearly incredibly busy. I still don't really care for the sweeter sauce that tastes heavily like peppers to me, but their vinegar-based sauce (which I think is their original?) was much better than I remember. I'm glad to see this place is still around and still holds up after all this time. More importantly, the brisket is every bit as good as I remembered.

The wine list covers most regions, though noticeably missing any Zinfandels. Service was good overall, but substitutions are clearly discouraged, which may be a drawback for some diners. They also offer rotating egg rolls; we tried the gyros version, which was flavorful but on the pricey side. The main menu isn't extensive, yet every major category is represented. Our fillets were cooked as ordered, and the baked potatoes were standard. However, the presentation was underwhelming--the filet looked quite bare on a large plate, with watery meat juice that didn't add much appeal. Desserts include a wide variety of cakes and cream‑cheese‑based options, though there's no crème brûlée or key lime pie for those who prefer classics. All in all, the experience and pricing were reminiscent of the now‑closed Gino's, though it doesn't quite reach the same level of execution. It was also served warm, and the ice melted quickly, suggesting the glass or drink wasn't properly chilled. The martini was also underwhelming--it tasted mostly like juice, with little to no noticeable alcohol. As for the food, the starters were definitely the highlight. The French onion soup was actually very good. However, the main courses didn't live up to expectations. I chose the…read morehighest tier catering package for $16 a person and ordered Chicken fajitas, carnitas, and tamales. The order was supposed to be ready at 11:40 AM and it wasn't ready until closer to 12 PM. When we unpackaged the contents, we realized that there were no tortillas included in the order. There was a small tray of Mexican rice, beans, lettuce, tomato, cheese, carnitas and the chicken fajitas. The chips came in a large ziplock bag with 1 quart of salsa. Order came with serving spoons, but did not include 25 plates OR 25 napkins and we were short. When I called the restaurant to inquire about the missing tortillas, I was transferred to a manager who did not believe us that we were shorted the tortillas. She put us on a brief hold and returned to the line to state that the staff packaging the order is "90% certain" they included the tortillas in one of the aluminum trays. She asked us a few times to check the cardboard box. We informed her multiple times that the box is empty and that there are no tortillas in this order. It is very hard to enjoy a fajita bar without tortillas. She then decided to inform us that if we wanted, we can come back to the restaurant to pick up "MORE" Tortillas. I explained again that we do not have ANY tortillas and picking up MORE tortillas at this point in the lunch was not worth it since the order was already late and people had already started eating. The part that bothered me the most is that there was no acknowledgement or apology for the missing item in the order and an unbelieving attitude as if I was lying. I told her that there is no reason for me to lie and say I am missing tortillas. There's no value in me trying to secretly get extra tortillas if there are not even enough proteins to supplement those tortillas. All in all, we paid $500 for this catering order and the amount of food that we received felt like closer to a $200 order. The trays for the rice, beans, and proteins were mini trays and I found it very hard to believe that they expected that to feed 25 people. Additionally 1 quart of salsa is NOT enough for such a large number of people. And if I'm paying for a catering order that is supposed to be 25 people why wouldn't you double check there's enough plates and napkins??? As for the taste of food, my colleagues remarked that the food lacked flavor and tasted very bland. The tamales were very stringy inside and not able to cut through the inside without using a knife. If we had had enough salsa, that may have helped. All in all we will NOT be ordering from El Salto ever again. If you want decent Mexican food for a large crowd, honestly QDOBA is better and cheaper.
