    PG Bowl
    Davidson M.

My absolute go-to spot for Poke! I used to frequent the Toronto location, but was pleasant to know they had a location in Vaughan. The food is fresh and amazing. I usually go for leafy greens as a base since I feel like it ends up being pretty heavy when I order with rice. Though, I believe if you ask for half greens half rice, they'll easily oblige! I opt for getting either the Cali bowl or PGs bowl as both are great options. I always leave feeling happy and satisfied. I love coming here and will continue bringing friends and family here for some good ol' Poke.

This review is similar to my Yelp experience. I bought an additional poke bowl. I was hesitant dropping by this new store in Vaughan. This past July, I had a horrible experience at Poke Guys in Markham. I had been a regular customer and vowed to not return to this location. Would management and staff at Poke Guys apply those lessons learned at their new location in Vaughan? I had to check it out. The reduction of a star is for the lack of clear signage. I am all for usability and I am a good candidate to determine whether I can find anything, including a business. On Saturday, I headed westbound on Highway 7 and turned right into the plaza. Poke Guys was on the left. Due to a lack of signage, no unit number displayed on their door or window, along with a frosted logo on the window that blended with the nondescript store, I missed this store until I did an entire car tour of this plaza and saw the logo when parked. It's not good making any end user's experience start off with a scavenger hunt. A simple, visible sign with Poke Guys on it would have made it easier to spot. After my little car excursion, I parked. There was plenty of parking. There were pay stations scattered around the lot. I didn't bother paying, as I was worn out from finding this place already. The main entrance faces east. It helped that a staff member was leaving the store, which helped me out. Once inside, I was happy. The interior looked so nice and modern. Their Toronto and Markham locations look shabby now in comparison! Washrooms were on the right with wooden doors. The poke prep area looked enticing. I was greeted by a lovely male staffer who stepped me through the process to build my own bowl. I also took advantage of the 15% off an additional bowl thanks to Yelp and Poke Guys. Yay! I got the following regular-sized bowls: - Spicy shoyu salmon, and sweet and spicy shrimp, with corn, edamame, crab meat slaw, watermelon radishes, miso sesame, nori, and green onions on kale greens - Cali bowl (classic shoyu tuna and salmon, crab meat slaw, avocado, green onions, watermelon radishes, green onion, sesame seeds, classic shoyu yuzu, nori, and corn on kale greens) This man was so helpful assembling my bowls with care and detail, and answering my questions as we went along. I got cutlery because I needed to have a late lunch at 3 pm. I paid with a credit card. I added a tip. Everything was seamless. I was the only person in the eatery on a rainy afternoon. I felt safe. There were two hand sanitizer dispensers. It was a decent change from my Markham experience. I thanked the man and left with my food. I ate my lunch in my car, as I had a drink there and I'm used to dining in my vehicle! I had the Cali bowl first because I didn't want the avocado to brown. It was night and day between my experience at the Markham location and Vaughan. The ingredients were fresh. The flavours blended so well. The crab slaw was yummy and how I remembered it to be. I thoroughly enjoyed having what was go-to poke bowl. I had my build-your-own bowl for dinner. I loved the sweet and spicy shrimp. I've never had it before. Each shrimp was perfect. Not rubbery at all. I got the spicy shoyu salmon, which had the perfect amount of heat. I love corn and edamame. I was so happy with this bowl creation. I had an excellent experience, despite conducting a search to find this place. I now know where it is! When I'm in the area and am craving poke, I'd be fine dropping by here for more good eats. Location: Vaughan, on the main floor of a condo. Tricky to find first visit. You need to actually continue through to the Riviera event space and park there. The entrance is along Highway 7. Parking: There's a giant parking lot for the ballroom, park there . Not free. The Space: Tiny. Its definitely a take out place. I think there's just 4 seats The goods: It's poke bowls! 1. You pick a base, either rice or salad, I'm get half rice/ half salad 2. Then your protein- spicy shoyu salmon and honey ginger shoyu salmon. Are my faves. They have Shrimp and tofu of you want cooked or are vegan. 3. Choose your toppings, I like corn edamame, seaweed salad and mango 4. Pick your extra topping, I like watermelon radish, crispy onions, tempura bits and nori 5. Sauces- they are non dairy. There are endless combinations to choose from. You can go everyday and never eat the same bowl!! The staff: Really nice Will I be back? Of course!!

Location is slightly hard to find because its located within a plaza and isnt necessarily eye catching but it does have a lot of parking within walking distance. Location is bright and open which I love! Bowls are offered in 2 sizes and of the poke bowl places ive tried they have the most options for the base.. love their sauce/toppings and garnish options.. wide range that can accommodate all taste preferences... My go to is their soba noodles (not offered anywhere else to my knowledge) Protein and ingredients very fresh and tasty!

Nice new spot in vaughan for poke guys. The servers were really nice but compare to other poke competitors the food/price isnt as worth it. For their scoop of protein they dont give you a full scoop of salmon/tuna there's cucumber inside the scoop so you don't actually get the full scoop. Each topping cost and extra $1 where as other competitors are free to add toppings. This can add up really quick if you enjoy adding all the toppings to a poke bowl. Overall, taste wise is good but the amount of portion and price isnt as worth as other poke places.

Food and service were great! Staff were super friendly and the food was absolutely delicious, would highly recommend!

My favourite Poke spot just opened in Vaughan. Congratulations Poke Guys! This new location is nice, clean, and a perfect spot for a quick grab & go poke bowls! Specializing in fresh Hawaiian style poke, they marinated their proteins with shoyu, scallions, sesame oil, white onions, and cucumber, which gave them umami-flavoured taste. You can build your own bowl or try their signature ones. I love to build my own bowl since you can add your favourite toppings that suited your own preference. But this time, I tried their signature bowls: Mauna Loa - Mixed of sushi rice and vegetables, Spicy shoyu salmon, edamame, spicy cucumbers, spicy seaweed salad, masago, unlimited sauces and garnishes. I love that you can feel the heat, balanced out with the fresh salmon, and topped it off with wasabi mayo, creamy togarashi, classic shoyu yuzu sauces, with nori, pickled red ginger, and togarashi to finish off. Explosion of flavours! Cali Bowl (Large) - Brown and white rice, layered with Classic shoyu salmon & tuna, avocado, crab meat slaw, masago, drizzled with variety of sauces, such as Unagi, shoyu yuzu, wasabi mayo, and miso sesame. Finished off with crispy onion, nori, green onions, and b&w sesame seeds. So what are you waiting for, go grab your poke bowl and experience Hawaii!

I was able to try Liko's BBQ recently at Alohafest at Mel Lastman Square, located in North York. In terms of food items, during the event they were offering 3 items: - Aloha plate lunch (includes Kalua pork, BBQ chicken, beef short-ribs, white rice, and mac salad) - Loco moco - Spam musubi (2 pieces per order) My partner and I opted to get 2 Aloha plate lunches and a spam musubi order. The plate lunch was $18 but boy oh boy...the amount of food that you get in one order definitely made the money worth it. I was not able to finish my portion as well and had to save some for the next day. In terms of the individual items in the plate lunch, everything was cooked well. The marinades on the chicken and short ribs were unique. I probably liked the chicken the best. The Kalua pork was tender where it was delicious with rice. The mac salad had some potato in it and was good as well. The spam musubi was delicious as well. I mean...obviously can't go wrong with spam unless you aren't a fan of it. Overall, a great snack portion. LIko's Hawaiian BBQ was a treat! Hope to be able to purchase food from them again in other events they attend.

Two Saturdays ago, I was in the Malvern area of Scarborough and had just spent some time running errands. I needed to grab some dinner. I looked at my DoorDash app. I saw a BOGO deal on a Boardwalk classic burger combo. Perfect! The combo details are as follows: - Two Boardwalk classic burgers - Two 8-ounce fries - Two fountain Diet Coke drinks I saw a Dubai chocolate brownie on the menu. I had to get it. I got an estimated time to pick up my order. I casually drove over to pick up my food. This eatery is located in a plaza. I drove southbound along Morningside Avenue and did a left turn onto Kingston Road. I then did a right into the plaza and backed into a parking spot. I walked into the eatery. There's a door to enter and a door to exit. It reminded me of Salisbury House in Winnipeg. The eatery was cheerful and spacious. I was the only person here at nearly 4 pm. I got a helpful woman who came out of the kitchen. I let her know that I had a DoorDash order. She took out my tray with my drinks and my paper bag of food. I thanked her and took everything over to my car. My food went into an insulated bag. I secured my drinks. Both drinks had the X on the lid sealed with tape. The problem with this approach is that the carbonation had no place to escape, except under the lid. Yep, I had Diet Coke leak out of one of my drinks. I ended up cleaning the mess after I removed the tape off both drinks to release the bottled-up carbonation. I drank one of them as I headed home. It tasted yummy and crisp. It was icy cold. I liked that the straws have a red diagonal stripe. They are paper and durable. Being a person who is curious about an eatery's backstory, I went on Boardwalk Canada's site to check out OUr History. It wasn't helpful with the birthplace right off the bat. It says that Dave and Fran DiFerdinando founded Boardwalk and they wanted to bring the "taste of Boardwalk fries" to Canada. Which boardwalk? It should be mentioned in the same sentence. When I think of boardwalk, it's the Beaches area of Toronto. Second? The boardwalk shopping area in Kitchener. The third? The boardwalk in Atlantic City. I don't recall any Boardwalk burger joint in any of these locations. When you read the Boardwalk Canada's story, the third paragraph says Ocean City's Boardwalk. Geez, thanks for burying this detail. As Canadians, are we supposed to know where Ocean City is? Looking at the Boardwalk US site, all my questions were answered in the tagline under the title of this History page. It's Ocean City, Maryland. Why not cut to the chase on the Canadian site with this detail?! One word: Ugh! Let's get to the food. I frankly didn't think the fries were to write home about. They are apparently cooked multiple times. I didn't taste it. They tasted like once-fried fries that were lightly seasoned. I saw tater tots on the menu. I'd rather get them than fries. I hope they are yummy. I will need to get an order and find out. The burger was delicious. The brioche bun was delightful. It was soft. Yet, it held everything together. It felt fancy and it was a nice change from a bun with sesame seeds. The seasoned beef patty was juicy and flavourful. It's halal, too. I loved the lettuce, tomatoes, cheddar cheese, and secret sauce. They tasted fresh and were the perfect toppings. I had the Dubai chocolate brownie for dessert. OMG! It was stellar. It had the best semi-sweet chocolate. There was pistachio cream on top mixed crunchy kataifi bits. I'd get this dessert again in a heartbeat. I had a wonderful experience here. The burgers do run on the expensive side at roughly $10 and higher. It's excellent, though. I'd splurge getting one, along with the Dubai chocolate brownie. (368)
