    Poke Bowl (Large)

Rating: 4.0 Have been here few times but decided to review today. It's a poke bowl restaurant chain that has been open in Providence Thayer street for a while. Recently they have been adding more options such as spam musubi and some sides. Parking is only street parking. Usually the place is not too busy and there are plenty of seatings available. I usually get 2 or 3 protein poke bowl with spicy salmon and shrimp with toppings. Food is pretty consistent and its pretty good. I can't say it's out of the ordinary though. Service is usually pretty good. Overall the place is good. Definitely a one of the better poke bowl option around the area. They also have app/royalty program that offer points that can be used for rewards

I was starving after a 7 mile run and this place hit the spot. I got the spicy ahi bowl which is the most popular bowl and it was delicious. Fresh ingredients. Free avocado scoop because it was late. Nice little searing area and great people watching spot at the corner of waterman. Get in here, you won't be let down.

Pokeworks is one of the few, easily accessible Poke places in Providence. This time, I got spicy salmon and tuna, with spicy aioli sauce. The fish was decently fresh and they put the right amount of sauce on, but it was quite spicier than I expected, even considering that my spice tolerance is relatively high. I would stop by here if you're craving poke and want to get it quickly, but would otherwise think about ordering somewhere else for better poke!

ordered in person for takeaway. servers were kind and generous with toppings. establishment is clean and has been every time i have come in. the fish is reliable here. i have not had a bad experience with the freshness. it's a consistent college town poke spot. nothing extravagant or to write home about but always there when you need it.

Pokeworks is a great spot to stop by and load up on some healthy ishh! I am definitely a regular and have a meal or two here almost every week. My preference is to get the salad bowl, load it up with lots of veggies, sauces and don't forget that avocado with some crunchy toppings like the crispy garlic, onions and wontons. You also have your options of proteins, whether it be 2 or 3 and I normally go for the tofu and shrimp. All the ingredients smell and taste fresh! The staff are always pleasant and helpful. The only downside to the restaurant may be the location on a busy day. Thayer street can be pretty packed at times and you may have to take a few loops around the block before finding a spot. The bowls I get are usually around $17 which isn't exactly cheap, but it's also not breaking the bank and it's so loaded with delicious food! Try this spot out and let me know what you think :-) -ODL Connect with me! IG & YouTube: @AOEAT

Very fresh. My only complaint is I would like to see a smaller bowl at a more reasonable cost. It was like 35.00 for two for lunch .The kids options don't allow for any variety. But it was super tasty

Solid poke spot! Really refreshing and fulfills my poke cravings. I usually get the brown rice base with ahi tuna and spicy salmon. The brown rice tastes a lot like white rice, unlike many other places, and goes well with the fish. I love the siracha aioli sauce, which is basically siracha mayo. I like the seaweed salad as a topping, as well as edamame, wonton crisps, cucumber, and masago. This place makes me feel somewhat healthy with the veggies in my bowl, so that's always nice. Seating is limited but it's never too crowded. Really yummy and does not disappoint!

Get your poke fix at Pokeworks: Imagine deconstructed sushi in a bowl. Or as a salad. Maybe with noodles? How about burrito form? Yes, nachos - definitely nachos. The choices are endless and the protein options are fresh. Sad for others, but I'm fortunate to say this location guarantees quality poke. I created my own sushi bowl consisting of sushi rice and two proteins - tuna and salmon. Mix-ins featured are edamame, jalapeños, cucumber, and diced mango. For my flavor, I went with the sweet chili gochujang sauce. Caution, it's spicy! I topped the bowl with avocado (for additional cost), sesame seeds, wonton crisps, shredded nori, masago, seaweed salad, and pickled ginger. As you can tell, I love to max out my poke game! Gotta catch em' all. It was my first time trying out the poke nachos. The same drill - choose your proteins, mix-ins, etc. This time, I went for shrimp, tuna, cucumber, mango, jalapeño, and avocado in the Pokeworks classic sauce. The crab salad was good! The Providence location on Thayer St is small but clean. You'll be in and out before you know it. Parking can be difficult, but it's of walking distance from neighboring restaurants, shops, and cafes near Brown University. Although on the pricier side, it's worth the visit and experience - especially for your first (or returning) visit for poke!

Ramen noodles in a poke bowl -- our first but it was soo good!!!

We entered and walked up to a counter backed with a small crowd of young staff faces staring at us and many of them looked stunned with every word we said (whether it was a simple question or simply our requesting ingredients for our poke bowl). Ah sweet awkward youth! That being said, often times, one young gentleman (who seemed to be the only one capable of good communication) would regularly save the awkward situations and reply back with common sense and we were able to get through our order. Once we got our food, it was super delicious. The ingredients were all fresh and pure perfection! Highly recommend bringing a little patience thru the blank stares and awkward ordering process!

The first time I came, it was a rainy weekday and this time it was a sunny weekend, so I was expecting an even larger crowd; and my prediction was correct. The line was just out the door but because of their awesome staff, the line was moving very quickly. While we waited in line, we could watch them making pastries through the glass, a couple feet in front of us. I admired that level of transparency. When we were third in line, the kindest lady asked us whether we'd be eating in or taking out and she took down our name to help us find a table when it came time. She did the same for the rest of the people in line. She also gave us some recommendations, including the cinnamon bun - apparently they're so good kids cry when they sell out. I didn't intend to order anything with my drink, but I couldn't get the cinnamon bun out of my head so I ordered it along with my iced spiced chai latte. The hen (I think it's their logo) on the aprons of the employees are super cute. We did secure a table. The tables are close together to maximize the number of people who can sit down but I didn't mind. I love their art all around, mostly of birds which I am obsessed with. I love that they have a lot of natural lighting coming through their tall windows. I also like the navy blue and white theme they have going on. The chai latte was perfect. It was the right color (a dark tan), meaning the ratio of tea and milk was good and I could taste a lot of the spices. The cinnamon bun blew my expectations away. The second my teeth made. contact with the icing, it was a magical feeling. I couldn't quite put my finger on what it tasted like, but the closest I got was dulce de leche. It is truly unlike any other cinnamon bun I have ever had. The dough is soft and there is a good amount of cinnamon. It's also $4 which is not bad. I had a bite of their canelé, which apparently requires a lot of work to make. It was very moist, with a great caramelized finish. I am super excited to try their new weekend dinner menu, but also more of their all day menu items.

That lasted about 30 seconds…read more The owner (adorable, by the way) was walking around checking on tables and making sure everyone was happy. It feels like her place in the best way -- warm, proud, hands-on. Pastries are legit. Super buttery, flaky enough to make a mess, clearly baked that morning. No sad, sitting-around-all-day vibes. Ordered the breakfast sandwich and that tomato jam needs to be illegal. Sweet, savory, slightly tangy -- it completely makes the sandwich. I kept trying to figure out how to recreate it at home. Not happening. Crispy chicken sandwich was properly seasoned and not dried out (why is that so hard for some places?). Fries were solid too -- crispy, not limp. And the kale salad with roasted chickpeas and chicken made me feel like I had my life together. Fresh, simple, and actually satisfying. It's one of those places you stumble into while traveling and then immediately start googling whether you can justify going back the next day.
