Poke Bowl - Regular (2 Proteins)
    Daryn B.

Local poke place I tried for lunch. Had the bowl, white rice, spicy tuna and salmon. Plenty of sauces and toppings to add to make it meet your taste desire. I felt like maybe they weee a little short on the variety of proteins. I believe one was chicken (not sure about trying that). Had they offered other seafood styles maybe I would have changed it up but these two are my standard go-to for poke. Clean facility. Friendly service and ok pricing. Hawaiian Sun canned drinks are available for a little more of the Hawaiian flavor. Definitely would consider when back in the area.

Finally! We are so LATE to the game around here. Anyway, welcome to the neighborhood! It's great to have real poké as an option. A minimalist approach to the interior. Clean, communal tables. Gets loud though. Served line style (think chipotle) keeping it as hygienic as possible. So many options & choices & add ins & sauces so the combinations are endless. But to the overwhelmed, thankfully there are combo suggestions. I don't eat raw fish, so the tofu or cooked chicken is appreciated. Eat in or take out.

2 protein with every free topping available. Excellent flavor!

Really friendly service and my on line order was fulfilled in time. Food was fresh and delicious. Beware, the Thai chili IS spicy lol. I added it on thinking I wanted the heat but I ended up picking them all out. Good thing they only put about a dozen...

I had heard about Pokeworks. I figured I would try it for lunch today. It was easy parking and close to home so an easy option. I LOVED it. I had the ahi spicy tuna bowl and added avocado! I could eat this every day for the rest of my life. Very fresh and just the right size. I will be back for take out! If you want me to dine in at dinner you may need to add a bar! :) So good! Thank you!! I'm sorry but not much left in my pic!

I've been to Pokeworks many times and their fish is very consistently fresh and tasty. I normally don't see the purpose in reviewing a chain restaurant but the experience that you get here, in this suburban Connecticut location, is way different from the experience I've had in in NYC locations. Customer service is great and I've always been greeted with a smile. There's also a lot more space to sit here and I've always been able to find a seat when needed. It's never super crowded and even when the line is long, it moves very quickly. In general, poke is pretty pricey but I think that if you get the fish, it's completely worth it. White rice is definitely the best with your poke bowl (in my opinion) but I usually get the kale noodles because they're also yummy and make me feel a little better about myself. They're super nice here about trying stuff before committing to it so I recommend trying some sauces before deciding which one to get. The sauce makes a really big difference on the overall taste of the bowl. I recommend Sriracha Aioli!

Another great place to go to! Went to this place after a volleyball tournament and was hungry for something light but filling. The yuzu ponzu was healthy and taste great.

Hawaiian Kitchen, based in Bethpage, absolutely knocked it out of the park! From the start, they were incredibly easy to work with and went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of. I had originally requested 2-liter bottles of soda, but since they didn't have them in stock, they proactively delivered individual cans instead to ensure our team had plenty of drinks. Now, for the food--it was phenomenal. Our office hasn't stopped raving about it! The Coconut Shrimp and Grilled Shrimp were huge hits, and the Angus Steak was incredibly tender. Even the Chicken Fried Rice was a standout, and all of their signature sauces were delicious. They also did a large house salad for us with the most incredible Ginger dressing. I had numerous people ask me where I found them, and I couldn't wait to order for their next small house parties or to pick up dinner on the way home. It was all so fresh and not greasy. We also ordered spring rolls that were so light and crispy, pineapple fried rice that was really delicious, and marinated chicken and steamed broccoli. If you're looking for reliable catering that people will actually get excited about, I can't recommend Hawaiian Kitchen enough. THANK YOU for making me look like a superstar! We will definitely be ordering again! PS - they are a small, family-owned business, and I love supporting businesses like that that really care. Give them a try!

The menu had mostly Hawaiian options to choose from. The pricing was very reasonable as well. I had the customizable poke bowl ($15.95). There was a number of different options to choose from with different proteins, toppings, sauces, etc. I had a base of brown rice with avocado, cucumber, sweet corn, edamame, mango, ahi tuna, spicy mayo, ginger, wasabi, jalapeno, green onion, and cilantro. This was nicely done. Everything appeared fresh and it was a good size portion. I would have just liked to seen a little more ahi tuna present, but besides that, very pleasant and filling. I also had the spam musubi ($2.95) and a side of macaroni salad ($3.95). The musubi was okay. It was a little dry. There needed to be more sauce present. The macaroni salad was a heaping portion, and it was tasty. There looked like a lot of mayonnaise present, but it was not too overpowerful as some type of sugar seemed to be incorporated to balance it out. Regardless of what it was, the salad was flavorful. I was tempted to get the mini meal since I don't eat a lot, but I ultimately caved and decided to get the combo meal since I wanted to try the Kailua pork too. The verdict? The Kailua pork was a little too salty for me, it comes mixed with like cabbage or lettuce, and overall very mushy which I didn't mind.
