Everything tasted super fresh!! My partner and I both ordered a regular bowl with seaweed salad for an additional charge. The worker was kind and worked quickly with us. She was the only one in the front taking orders, making the drinks, and ringing us up at the cash register. There were some boys who were also working but they were all in the back? Good poke in Hollister. I was a little disappointed with this spot as someone who is very critical of the poke bowls I eat. The sushi rice was really mushy. The crab salad was alright but had a bit of a bitter flavor to it. The avocado was blended and tasted like store-bought guacamole. Despite that, the fish was fresh and the sauce flavors were great. I really like that they offered miso dressing! The portions were pretty large too. The bowls were by no means bad, but were not the best I have had (as a Bay Area local). The bowls were made quickly during lunch time on a weekday. The store was very clean and organized. How can I help you just what do you want from a gentleman, while he was serving my bowl, he was nodding his head, making faces just in a horrible mood. Given the abundance of poke shops wlwe have in Washington, this place was standard and a little pricey. We got the large bowl which came with 4 toppings: salmon, yellowtail, octopus, and Spicy tuna. The amount of protein they gave was so confusing. For the octopus, yellowtail and salmon ,they gave us probably 3-4 pieces at most of each, while the Spicy tuna, it was a lot more. Toppings was pretty standard, nothing out of the ordinary. What I found interesting is that you get charge extra for edamame and seaweed salad but free for avocado (Washington is opposite). Pricing is comparable to Hawaii but quality is not comparable, so I think it's pricey. Overall, it was just ok, nothing spectacular read more

I paid $20 for a regular bowl with an extra scoop of crab and some seaweed salad and edamame and I was disappointed. I really wanted to like it and the toppings tasted decent but the fish was not as good as expected. It didn't taste super fresh and definitely had a more fishy odor then poke bowl usually have. I got halfway through the bowl (starving) before I just couldn't be bothered anymore. Mind you it wasn't an awful/horrible taste or anything but it was just weird/metallic-y enough that I won't be bothering to come back. I can see why this could be good enough for some. I love poke bowls, but I won't be coming back even if they stay the only poke option in town. I think I just don't like this chain. I've been to one other location, but at the time I just chalked it up to that location. Their bowls seem to rely on oil instead of...say...ponzu, shoyu or other sauces like other poke places. Rice was very, very greasy. I even said no oil when she asked if I wanted it spicy, and she still put oil on. Maybe she thought I meant spicy oil or only heard the no, I don't know. Toppings were very limited (onion, cucumber, avocado, imitation crab, masago, green onion, ginger, and wasabi). Edamame and seaweed salad is $1.50 each. Drizzle sauce options were something that looked mayo-based or sriracha. Only dry topping was sesame seeds. I'm sorry, there needs to be more toppings (or more premium ones) at the $15 price point. $18 is too much -- there's poke bowls with double the variety of free toppings including edamame and seaweed salad (tho without avocado) about an hour north for $12-14. There were 3 ppl behind the counter and no customers when I arrived, yet none of the tables were clean. This is pretty disgraceful for a $15+ poke bowl joint. If I pay $15, clean tables are expected. Especially when there's 3 employees and no customers. And the bowl wasn't even good, I don't understand the rave reviews. read more

I have been here many times since their opening and have enjoyed it. However, I came for lunch last week (5.18.22), ordered the double ahi bowl and within 2 hours knew something wasn't right. I got food poisoning, was bed ridden, no appetite, stomach cramping and felt horrible for 5 days. Come to find out I ingested a parasite from the fish. I called and spoke to the manager (total Karen move but w/e) and all he said was "Alrighty, thank you"...huh??? Whether the fish was improperly stored or they received it that way...doesn't matter. I was so excited when this place opened. We had been waiting for a poke place here for years and couldn't wait. At first, it was great. Quality fish and good quantity. Over the past 2 months, there has been a steady decline across the board. The quantity shrank and I found myself paying $20 for a bowl of rice. Then, the quality took a complete nose dive and the fish was obviously not fresh...and let's be real here, it's Hollister, but the quality was there before. We know fresh fish is possible but it feels like they're cutting corners and serving cheaper, low quality fish. Today I got to my tipping point and couldn't even finish my bowl, for the first time in my life! The tuna had a chewy, off-putting texture and was clearly old. To top it off, the past few times I've found myself sprinting to the bathroom with a case of the runs! What is going on here, Poki Bowl? Why am I paying $20 for a bowl of rice and diarrhea to follow? Much as I love Poki, I'd put off trying this place because the reviews weren't that great. Then my sister in law said that Hollister-ites are notorious for giving bad reviews, so I decided to find out for myself how good the Poki Bowl was. The bowl tasted great, the flavors were good, and I enjoyed it. The staff knew what they were doing, and put together a great combination just the way I had ordered it. What I didn't like were the quantities and the pricing. I understand prices are going up, etc., etc., but for almost $20, you could be a little more generous with the contents. Ironically, I thought the fish amounts were fair, and although not super generous, it was adequate. What seemed so chintzy were the toppings. Come on, how hard is it to add some variety to the bowl in addition to the protein? The cucumber was good, but not nearly enough to cover the entire entree. Same with the crispy onions. Charging extra for the "good" toppings was unfair - after spending over $20 for a bowl (with tax and tip) you can't add a little bit of guacamole or egg without asking for another $1.50 each? The worst was charging for the seaweed - is it that expensive? The only topping they were generous with was the ginger - in my opinion they added too much. As for the sauces, I'm not sure if they put much on or not - I really couldn't taste it because the spicy tuna overpowered any other flavors. Not that I'm complaining. My favorite Poki place is in a high priced area of LA - and their bowls are less expensive than Hollister, and they are generous with their toppings. I'd like to make the Poki Bowl a regular stop, but first I'd like to see a little more value for the money. read more

I've eaten here 3 times now, 2 with no issues. How ever we came here the other night for dinner since it was too hot to cook & my husband got really bad food poisoning. Same as the other reviewer's symptoms. Bad stomach cramps, headache, chills, etc. I thankfully didn't get sick so I narrowed it down to either the salmon or seaweed salad.
