The corn tortillas are handmade and the carnitas were fresh and tender with a little crisp, AMAZING. I don't think the people of Hollister know, but they serve breakfast too. I wanna be selfish, cause I know there will be a wait once people find out, but I also want them to keep serving it cause it's so good. My husband usually gets the Huevos Rancheros, I get Chilaquiles Verdes w/ Cafe de Olla, and my kids get the pancakes that are not only beautiful, but so yummy. Managed to get an order in for carne asada fries and a round of tacos too. While the tacos were nothing to write home about--the carne asada fries on the other hand, were spectacular! The portion is huge and the flavors of all the ingredients are truly amazing. I don't want to sound corny, but each bite was like a friggin' fiesta in my mouth. Very smoky which both of us liked a lot and wasn't dry. We also just loved how kind and accommodating the woman at the register was. I was craving a cold horchata but they cycle through agua fresca flavors and didn't have it today so she let us sample the triple berry cheesecake agua fresca and it was delicious so we got that too. The staff is very kind and clearly working hard, but the system itself feels completely unorganized. It honestly feels like everyone is on their first day at the same time. Tables don't seem to be divided in a logical way. Instead of one server handling inside and another the patio, servers are running back and forth between both areas, which slows everything down. During our visit, we ordered drinks with one person, placed our food order with who I think was our actual waitress, had our food delivered by someone from the kitchen who wasn't sure which table it belonged to, got refills from someone who may have been the manager or owner, and didn't see our waitress again until we had to go ask for the check ourselves. Kitchen staff were walking out with dishes asking around to find the right table, which added to the confusion. Everyone is friendly and clearly trying their best, but the lack of organization makes the experience inefficient and a bit stressful as a customer. The restaurant was spacious and comfortable. The food was delicious, I had a pork dish with chili verde which was excellent. My son had a chicken burrito which he enjoyed and gave a big thumbs up. The staff were very nice. 'Cash Only', sign at the front door is still in place which was not a problem for us. My only suggestion for the owners is to consider having some soft background music playing.
