    Monday, 5 August 2024 -- outside
    Agnes I.

I first visited on a Monday in early August 2024, for dinner, with a Yelp friend, Kathy. She had heard of this restaurant during COVID (2021 or 2022) but I hadn't heard of it so I was happy to check it out. I didn't know this was a self service restaurant until I entered with my friend SERVICE (3/5) -- It was simple but I have no complaints. The complimentary tea is a nice touch (you serve this yourself in a small plastic cup). This isn't a regular restaurant though. It is more of a takeaway establishment because you have to go up to the counter to order, they serve your food in a plastic container (it doesn't matter whether it is dine-in or takeout order, you will get plastic utensils and container), and they provide plastic cups for water. The host was direct and to the point when you go up to him to order. There is no small talk initiated but I think I did notice a smile out of him. After we ordered, he then brought my friend and I our food to the table. He didn't ask us if we wanted anything to drink because you have to order everything at once at the counter when you initially enter the restaurant. FOOD (3.5/5) -- I enjoyed what I ordered. I got the Indonesian Fried Rice which cost $14.95 for a dinner size plate. There were 2 pieces of chicken in the container - fried, crispy pieces and regular un-fried pieces that were dry. The oil or sauce given helped to make the un-fried chicken less dry. The rice was cooked well and had some flavour. There was a small egg on top of the whole dish. I had hardly eaten all day so I was hungry. I almost finished the whole container of food. I ate the leftovers the following day (Tuesday) in the evening by candlelight since Cleveland lost electricity on that day starting at 4pm. Overall, my experience here was between a 3.5/5 and a 4/5 experience. A 3/5stars is fair considering that I have only tried 1 item on the menu so far. I don't live close so I'm unsure I'll be back. If I'm in the Cleveland Heights area then I won't mind ordering the Indonesian Fried Rice or trying something else on the menu. **** GOAL of 150 reviews in 2024 - 84/150 total reviews in 2024 - 734 total overall Yelp reviews - Reviewed on 10 August 2024

Possibly my favorite place in the world. Best pad thai I've ever had. Best wait staff ever. They know me and my order and always make it a pleasant experience. If I could go every day, I would.

I've tried to come here two other times to dine in (once for a date!) and they were just very slow to open for dine-in. Happy to say that I was finally able to eat here and try their offerings! They are still not full service, which is fine with me! You just order at the counter, seat yourself and grab any utensils, water or napkins that you may need. All of that is dandy but the service is quite slow. It was a little slow and chaotic when I came in because there wasn't anyone at the counter and 2 others were there waiting on their pickup order. I noticed that it took 10+ minutes to pick up an order and they did not try to acknowledge or take any other orders during that time. The menu looked pretty vast and I'd definitely be up to try different dishes next time. I got the yakisoba noodles with pork and it tasted fine but the menu mentioned that there would be egg in the dish which there was none. Wish there were more noodles because they were so delicious but there was too much rough cut vegetables and large chunks of meat. My pork looked and tasted more like chicken breast pieces and were overdone. Portions were reasonable as you can see from the picture. One more thing to mention is that there is no AC and hardly any circulation of air. We met on a hot day and it was stifling and pretty uncomfortable inside. I would suggest choosing a much cooler day to dine in! My fellow diner ordered the Indonesian fried rice with fried chicken pieces and boy, that looked BOMB. I'm definitely trying something like that next time!

My first time ordering from Tree Country Bistro was for chicken pad thai takeout. IMHO, Pearl Asian Kitchen (RIP) had the best chicken pad thai in the east side area. Anyway, the interior is a bit dingy and not fancy in the slightest but I'm not taking that into consideration with my review here as I only did takeout. Since I ordered from the slightly more expensive dinner menu, the portion was generous with noodles and tasty chicken. The sauce tasted sweet, like it had honey added into it and the medium spice level was the perfect level of spice I think there should have been more eggs in my pad thai as well as way more veggies than the scarce amount of scallions included. Nevertheless, I thought my meal was very tasty and will definitely order pad thai from here when the craving hits again.

Great casual spot for Thai food! Service is good, and I'd highly recommend the country pad Thai, a spicy and flavorful version of pad Thai that comes with both shrimp and chicken. The regular pad Thai was less impressive. They have a great lunch deal too, which gives you miso, salad, and your choice of two other half entrees - I got sushi and pad Thai. I think i will be back often!

Prices online didn't match the nearly $16 per entree I paid tonight which is incredibly overpriced. The Panang and Massaman curries I asked to be very mild and the Panang was still painfully spicy. The Panang- similar to the last two times- was overbearingly fishy not due to seafood as the meat (it was tofu) but probably due to too much fish sauce. It was so bad this time that I almost gagged when I got it open at home. It was over the top fishy and just nasty. They've run out of luck from me as I won't pay this much money for such bad food.

Great lunch spot in coventry! I've been here a couple times and gotten the sushi/pad thai combo. It comes with both salad and soup. Sushi is average. Thai food is great!I've been able to compare the country pad thai to the regular pad thai. If you are not afraid of a little spice, go for the country version- its way more flavorful while the regular is more bland. This place also sells japanese, korean, vietnamese food, but I do feel like the thai food is king here.

Bulgogi and theories I took out. I ordered no onions.
    Cynthia S.

Ordered Bulgari with no onions. Terrible. The dish had almost as many onions as meat, the meat was tasteless and not cut in slices. Instead, the meat was cut in small short slices that looked more like pellets. Never ordering from there again. $20 thrown down the toilet

The food is fantastic and is family-restaurant style. While it might not be super flashy and trendy, it doesn't need to be. The food speaks for itself! You cannot go wrong with any dish on the menu, to be honest. While I have a seafood allergy, our many friends and family members that have tried a larger section of the menu have raved about it! My favorites are the japchae and the dol sot bibimbop. I like to add a good helping of gochujang to mine, and I also add some ssamjang to add a little extra to it (sometimes they'll bring out lettuce for some ssam as well!). My husband has tried many of the dishes, but his absolute favorite is the jjajangmyeon. Our toddler enjoys the bits and pieces from our various meals, and also likes the kimbap (she's still figuring out how to eat the seaweed wrapper, but does good work with the interior filling). I will admit that we have not done the KBBQ at Miega, but we've seen the bbq tables filled regularly and the food looks amazing! The staff members are incredibly friendly and kind, and our toddler loves seeing and interacting with them. They are very baby friendly and welcoming! Miega is one of our favorite restaurants and we try to tell everyone about it when they are looking for something new to try. From the incredibly warm and welcoming staff to the truly delicious food, we hope to keep going to Miega for many years to come. We are so happy to have a place like this for our baby to grow up going to as a family favorite restaurant.

Wings have a nice crunch to them and very juicy on the inside. There was about 8 pieces a mix of drums and flats. The flavor was a bit subtle, did not taste any garlic just honey. Galbi tang came out slot with like 7 ban chan. Also pipping hot. Got three pieces of galbi on the bone. Some glass noodles, bit of veg, and egg drop the soup. Came with a bowl of rice too. They don't have the purple rice option or I didn't see it in the menu. But regardless, galbi tang was delicious. Kinda wish the side dishes were a bit better, kimchi and the radish kimchi was okay. Def a spot I'd come again to try the rest od their menu. Friend got their jajaiangmien, looked pretty good. Their bbq option is a small menu and requires two orders minimum. Oh they also have bingsoo for dessert, gotta try this out during the summer time.

Very nice. I had no idea I was getting a shake however since the menu option was for a variety 4 pack of hot cakes. The shake name was on there but the menu doesn't lead one to believe it wasn't just a hot cake flavor. Somehow I chose three flavors and the shake but got four hotcakes so the menu could be clearer. The hotcakes weren't hot but weren't cold. They'd be great if hot. The mess with eating these is unbelievable. They come in paper sleeves and with the first bite the sweet syrupy filling bursts out the other end which will leave whatever it hits in a super sticky coating. Beware. None of the hotcakes were labeled and they all tasted very similar despite one having some chocolate filling in it so I have no idea what the Space Invaders etc cake taste like. Was ordered at 742, immediately confirmed, and I picked it up in 20 minutes. You walk in to this food hub and check in on the tablets and then go to the front counter where your order is scanned out and given to you. There are five or six "restaurants" selling food through orders made on a very slow website without any way to call anybody if there is a question. That is a big drawback in my opinion if there is a question or error made.

Sushi En is pretty casual, so you don't have to worry about being under dressed, which is a nice option for places in this area. In addition, the prices are very reasonable. Given their location, they could easily charge more, so I really appreciate the fact that they don't. My go-to is the California combo, a traditional Cali roll, a spicy Cali roll, plus soup or salad. If I am really hungry, I'll order one California roll plus a Chicken Hibachi Bowl. If you are more adventurous when it comes to your meals, go with the Drunken Tiger roll. Their edamame is also very good. I typically make reservations, but anytime I'm there, people always seem to be walking in and getting seated without a long wait. I had to add more to my parking because I already saw how slow the service was but we felt bad leaving. There was a party that came in after us and didn't get any menus or greeted or anything for about 15-20 minutes so they left. Another party came and sat, ordered but then left as soon as the salads came out (I overheard something about the orders being wrong but still I felt bad the food was wasted). After the initial wait (where we bussed our own menus, dishes and napkins) everything else actually finished in an appropriate time period where the whole dinner took about 1.5 hours. I tried the beef bulgogi, seafood stir fry, soft shell crab app and the calamari app. The calamari was pretty frozen tasting, the bimbimbap wasn't very good due to the strange ground chicken, the bulgogi was actually decent but came with two raw baby carrots (old and wrinkled) and raw broccoli which was odd. We had to ask for sauce for the poke and it basically was a salad with raw fish on top... not super impressed overall especially since we have to pay for parking. Seafood stir fry barely had any seafood and the noodles/sauce tasted packaged. This place is attached to the theater so it's easy for people heading to see a show but other wise I'd avoid this place. Only redeeming quality is that the owner (I think?) was very sweet. The best dish we got was the soft shell crab but even then there wasn't a lot of it.

Been to this locations many times in undergrad and stopped by recently on the way to the library nearby. Over the years, they have made their regular bowl size smaller, introduced a smaller bowl, then also changed the size of that. It seems now that the small and regular bowl is almost minimal difference in terms of what they are scooping, so if you already know the bowl is a lot for you, the smaller bowl may be more worth your money. For base, my go-to is mix of noodles and purple rice. Their noodles are made of sweet potato starch, so my base also happens to be a good gluten-free option. For hot toppings (black beans, curry chickpeas, bean sprouts, potatoes, and broccoli), you can ask for a total of 4, where "extra" of anything counts as 2 of that. So I get extra beans and extra potatoes, which counts as 4. My favorite 2 meats are their steak and korean BBQ. Well flavored, but again, on the saltier side. For cold toppings, they said they didn't have any carrots and I didn't inquire further if I had to wait for that or not, but that may have been due to me coming at opening. So you may be expected to wait if ordering at opening hour. Otherwise, the front staff were nice. It's pretty empty at opening for dining in. Side street parking there is difficult to get, but there is a lot behind it that is free for 30min (turn into E 115th to get there).
