Finally an authentic Hawaiian restaurant! We made the drive out to Talmadge after hearing about Aloha Kine Grindz. It's a drive through so be prepared to either take it home or eat in your car! Food is bomb. We ordered the 2 meat plates so we got the spicy Mochiko chicken and the Korean bbq style chicken with spam friend rice and Mac Salad. We also ordered another 2 meat plate and got spicy mochiko chicken and spicy garlic shrimp along with the same sides. Shrimp was a bit overcooked but the chicken was amazingg. Super crispy, Mac salad was delicious and you can't go wrong with spam fried rice! We also ordered the spam musubi's and those were good too. A little too much rice for me but still delicious! Service was good but surprisingly a little slow. After we ordered, they told us it would be 30 minutes so we waited in the car. I assumed since it was a drive through only it would be quick so was surprised by the long wait! Maybe they make the food to order because it was hot by the time we got it. What an amazing find! Have seen this place in passing a couple times and my family and I always wanted to try it. Finally decided too and wow. For such a small, to-go place the food is out of this world good! Huge quantity of food for very fair prices. We both got the double meat special. Tried the chicken katsu and the garlic chicken. I went on a Wednesday evening and the food took about 20 minutes to be made - not bad at all. I chose to do the combo meal. The garlic shrimp was absolutely DELICIOUS! The quality of shrimp was impressive and they were a decent size. The chicken mochiko was decent, but I had some bites that were gummy/chewy so I did not eat all the chicken. The spam fried rice was very tasty! The rice was cooked well. The mac salad had good seasoning and was decent. It would be nice to have some more veggies with it. The spam fried rice it comes with is delectable. I'm not huge on macaroni salad personally but the cup they serve with this dish is good even to me. Highly recommended. The flavors for everything were very solid and they put my spicy sauce on the side as per the person's recommendation. I've had and cooked spam musubi before and theirs was very good too! The mochiko chicken I think was my favorite thing. It's pick up only but there's nothing wrong with that for us. So their ambience was fine. A quick drive thru window, pick up and pay. Y'all are sleeping on this place! The mochiko chicken is phenomenal. It's tender, crispy, and has a wonderful umami flavor with a hint of sweetness. Highly recommend! The garlic shrimp is also very tasty. I applaud them for being one of the few places that doesn't overlook their shrimp. It was perfect. The spam fried rice and spam musubi were super! I can see myself going through the drive through just for a little musubi snack. The only part of my meal I felt could use improvement was the macaroni salad. I was expecting it to be sweet like I was under the impression Hawaiian macaroni salad is supposed to be but this isn't that. The main flavor profile is mayo and black pepper. It was just ok. The pasta was cooked perfectly which made it better. I think if they add a bit of sugar, people will go out of their way to get it. I'll definitely be back! read more
