This location of Poke House is located in Pleasanton Gateway Shopping Center. There is plenty of shared parking in this plaza. I was excited to see a newish poke spot in the area. Service was initially friendly, but the cleanliness was a bit questionable after my experience. For a small bowl with seaweed salad (extra $2+ charge), it was about $20, which definitely was not worth it. It was very small scoops of each toppings too. Food tasted just alright, the salmon could had been a bit fresher. Back to the questionable cleanliness on my visit - the employee coughed on my order, as he was building it. I knew it was an accident, so I was going to let it slide and was waiting for him to just apologize and prep / remake a new bowl for me, but it seems as he was just going to continue with the same bowl, so I asked for a new one, which he looked a bit taken aback. So now the cleanliness of the food and restaurant is a bit questionable to me, especially since this happened in front of a customer (me), so I really question how it would had been if it was behind the scenes. read more

I had the build your own shaved ice and the build your own poke bowl. The spicy salmon had a good kick to it and the toppings were very fresh. The bowl had different textures and the flavor was yum! The shaved ice was very refreshing and I liked that it had fresh fruits. Nice way to clean the palate. The place was clean, particularly the stations where they had the food. This review comes a little bit delayed since their grand opening week late last year. I have been to a couple of other Poke Houses in the Bay Area and have always raved about their freshness, portion sizes, and unique sauces. So needless to say, I was really excited to learn that one of these was coming to Pleasanton. During this visit at their grand opening special, we all got poke bowls. For some reason it just didn't quite taste the same as other locations, but perhaps by now, things may have gotten better. I just have not returned since. Perhaps it was the sauces as they did not seem as flavorful or the fact that they gave less of everything in terms of ingredients. I have been to the Walnut Creek and San Jose locations quite a few times. Place is brand new, very clean, location excellent. And soft opening is currently 10% off. The scoop tool is the same in Walnut Creek, however Pleasanton can be more generous with the protein portion. The Tuna I got was like 3/4 of a scoop, the small scoop should definitely be filled more, for the protein. Positive side: same as Walnut Creek, mangoes and pineapples are included in the sides, no extra charge. Sauce is good: I chose my own mix of sauces. Parking is easy for the weekday. Not sure how it would be on the weekend when the brunch spot on the corner is filled with customers. I pick two portions of tuna for a small bowl. Tuna tastes fresh. Suffering with very bad food poisoning virus from this place. It was most likely the fish. I got it around 5-6pm on Friday 4/3 and started having symptoms hours later. One of the best poke bowls we have had in a long time. The fish was extremeply fresh: the beautiful color, not a hint of fishy smell and the taste was like from those high end restaurants. The many toppings were fresh and delicious. And the sauces nicely tie everything together. The portion was generous and the prices were very reasonsable. The place was clean, neat, and modern. The best poke I've ever tried! The fish is very fresh and delicious. I was especially happy to see marinated fish and a big variety of toppings. I would come here way more often.
