We were here last weekend and the place is clean. We were not from around the area and our friend was looking for a sushi place. They have a good selection of sashimi and sushi. I had myself the 12 piece sashimi and I love that you can select which set of 3 not like some other places where they have it set. The staff was really nice and attentive. The slices are very thick and come with a bowl of rice that you can eat with. We also ordered two rolls - spicy salmon special and dragon roll. I live 30 minutes away but never been here. Came for lunch on a weekday and it was worth the stop. Ordered one of the sashimi salads and the fish was very fresh and was very tasty with the bit of sauce/ dressing. I especially liked the micro greens, cucumber and carrots that added a crunch. On a bed of salad and topped with seaweed. Perfect balance of flavors. I also liked that there were other kinds of sashimi salad. Variety of items will make everyone in my family happy. Waitress was efficient and the service was quick as I didn't have a lot of time to linger. They got me in and out quickly and I appreciated it-I didn't even have to mention I was hoping for something quick. They had lunch specials that I'll have to try next time. The ambiance chic and is decorated with Japanese decor. The atmosphere is comfortable. The seafood is fresh, and prepared to perfection. We ordered: Dinner Bento Box - 5/5 You select any TWO items: Chicken Teriyaki, Beef Teriyaki, Salmon Teriyaki, Saba Shioyaki, Nigiri (Tuna, Salmon, White Tuna, and Ebi), Tempura, Gyoza, California Roll, Sashimi (Tuna, Salmon, Hamachi, or Albacore). I selected Nigiri and tuna sashimi. The dinner bento also in includes and miso soup and salad. The nigiri sushi was excellent. The variety of fish is fresh. The texture and firmness of the fish was firm and tender. Not mushy soft like thawed frozen fish. If the fish was frozen, then it was flash frozen that closely maintains the texture of fresh fish. The ahi sashimi was delicious too, the slices were not cut in rectangular pieces. They were cut in long rectangular pieces. The thickness of the sashimi pieces were decent. I would order the dinner bento box again. Super Rainbow - 5/5 This Rainbow roll consist of real crab and avocado topped with tuna, salmon, yellowtail, albacore, bluefin, unagi, ebi, and tobiko. Went there around 8 on a Friday night and it was pretty busy I'd say! The tables were full but they were quick. They do have a yelp waitlist so I'd suggest that! Waiters didn't come around often which made it hard to order more food. All the fish was super fresh and delicious, the spicy salmon roll was amazing :) Would recommend!! read more

The food was absolutely delicious! There were 6 pieces of hamachi sashimi and it was fresh and tasty. The beef teriyaki was tender and delicious. This is hands down one of the best sushi spots in the Bay Area. We have moved around states & all over Cali. Now residing in Midwest and we came home to visit and wasabi is just top tier! Found this place on Google looking for a restaurant near the hotel family was staying at. What a gem! The restaurant is located in a shopping center, with a unassuming store front, but like many small businesses, don't let that fool you. We walked in on a Friday night and it was full with a wait list (they use the Yelp wait list feature, you log yourself in), but there were only two parties in front of us and the wait was less then 20 minutes. Once we were seated we shared an order of garlic edemame and gyōzas. The edemame was full of flavor with lots of fresh sautéed garlic, the gyōzas were crispy and the filling moist and yummy. We ordered a number of rolls, two traditional, two cucumber wrapped - Rainbow, Dragon Crunch, SP Crab and Sakura and one Chicken Teriyaki Plate. The fish was so fresh, prepared beautifully and presented elegantly. Service was quick and everyone was so welcoming. Would definitely visit again if I'm in the Livermore area. Great sushi place they had uni in summer from Santa Barbara which is not common. Staff were friendly and attentive. The sushi was super fresh they served the Amber Jack sashimi as is which show how fresh the fish was. A must try if you are in the area. read more

The sushi takes a while to come out because they serve the dishes together. Normally there could be a wait so i would utilize their yelp waitlist. But on a wednesday night even though there were a lot of people we got a table pretty quickly. The wait was worth it. The servers were also decent helping us refill our water and providing us with more ginger when we requested it. The sashimi was delicious and the fish tasted fresh. Garlic edamame (4/5): such a perfect appetizer to start off your meal. It was super garlicky and there was a whole bunch of mini garlic pieces at the bottom. I just wish they offered a spicy garlic edamame!! Fresh oyster (5/5): one of the best oysters I've ever had at a restaurant. The oysters were indeed super fresh. They were nice and meaty and the flavor was wonderful. The price is also great too, 4 oysters for around $10!! This was the star of the entire meal for me. I would come back solely for this. Dragon roll (3/5): this was pretty standard, not the worst or the best dragon roll I've ever had. It was average. I wouldn't order a roll from here again. I was told I absolutely had to try this particular sushi place while visiting Livermore. I was definitely not disappointed. I got a roll and some mackerel nigiri. Mackerel nigiri is one of my favorite things so I pretty much test it out everywhere. This was melt in your mouth delicious. The roll was great too, the fish was very fresh as were the other ingredients. They seem to do a very busy lunch business so service was a little slow and I had to ask a couple of times to get refills on beverages, but the service staff were all pleasant so it wasn't that big of a deal and didn't detract from my experience. Just worth a mention that if you wanted a super quick lunch this might not be the place for you. Regardless if you're in Livermore this is definitely amazing sushi and rivals what I've had in Hawaii and Japan - not quite that amazing, but pretty darn close! read more

I enjoy the food here but the service is consistently lacking. The last time I dined here, my husband and I ordered 4 rolls. 3 arrived and 1 I had to flag down a waiter and ask if the 4th was still coming since it had been about 10 minutes since the rest of the rolls were brought to the table. We needed to leave so I asked if they could just cancel the order but then they ended up bringing it out a couple minutes later so I just asked for it to go. This time the same exact thing happened. 3 rolls arrived, the 4th they brought after we were done eating dinner. I thought they just weren't going to bring it. No one ever came and checked on us so I didn't ask for it. So once again I just took it to go since they wouldn't just cancel the order, which I don't understand. But the food should be good... right? To be honest, the sushi was very disappointing. The rice wasn't great, the fish was not cut in any sort of refined way, the temperature was off. It was just assembly line produced, low quality food. Sitting at the bar made the experience worse. Everything else in that shopping center was closed so we actually missed the outside signage and had to circle back around! I'm so glad we did because the food was really tasty! We tried their veggie udon, tempura udon, chicken donburi (which came with miso soup and salad), and chirashi sushi (also came with miso soup and salad). The udon broth was delicious and the noodles had a nice, chewy texture. The tempura had a light batter - crispy and not oily. The chicken donburi was a hearty entree - great flavor and lots of fluffy rice. The sashimi in the chirashi entree was fresh and firm. Miso soup was decent but that salad dressing was amazing.
