*Update* Came here for lunch and my party all had bento boxes: a 2 item bento box and 3 item bento box. It seemed like everything really good cost an extra $3, so my 2 item bento box was no longer $18 because I chose salmon teriyaki (+$3) and sashimi (+$3). If you choose sushi or sashimi, you can only choose ONE type of fish, by the way. You do not get a variety. The bento boxes are no longer a good deal if you want to eat anything other than chicken or pork items. Ari no longer have little carts next to their tables that contain pickled veggies and ginger that you can help yourself to. The A/C was also on the fritz. It was either cold as an ice box or completely turned off. We literally drank hot tea when we sat down when it was in the 90s outside because the A/C was cranked up inside, but once we got our food, it was hot and stuffy, and then all of a sudden, we saw and felt them turn the A/C back on. The soft shell crab tendon was unique and a good portion and combination of flavors over rice. Nice that they give you tongs and scissors to cut and serve. Kids meal of ca roll (4 pcs) and chicken teriyaki was the best deal but kind of incredible that it's for kids ages 5 and under only because kids 5-13 are still kids! Sashimi took a really long time to come out and was too cold in the center as if just defrosted and tasted a bit rubbery. The inari nigiri was unique and flavorful. Half plate nigiri was also good. Liked the jap chae noodles, corn salad, and miso soup - just wished they had brought 4 out since we were 2 adults and 2 kids. Why, oh why do I put myself through this? Their service is terrible. Food great. Service terrible. I walk in solo and see plenty of seats at the bar. I was told to wait. So I wait. And wait. And wait. Probably waited 2-3 minutes just to be seated at the bar seat closest to where I was standing. Nobody in front of me; nobody waiting behind me. I sit down and was given a menu. I decide what I want and close my menu. And o wait. And wait. And wait. It is 20 minutes before they come back to me, even after eye contact about 10 minutes into it. Finally I am able to order. So here I am waiting again. It's now 30 minutes since I've entered the door. Within 5 minutes, my sushi comes out. Freshly made. Absolutely delicious. But I down it quickly as I'm starving by this time. I guess it's ok to eat here if you don't have time constraints or if you're not really hungry at that time. It shouldn't be this way though. Ari Sushi has been on my list for some time now. And after visiting this week, I'm so sad we didn't go sooner! Such great service and such fresh sushi! It's been a long time since I've enjoyed a restaurant this much. We absolutely loved the Ari roll and tropical mango roll! One was spicy and the other refreshing - perfect combo in my opinion. The owner also provided us with complimentary soup and salad, which was very nice. The restaurant is aesthetically very pretty, open space with bright interior. BEST TENDON IN TOWN! To be honest, I didn't know tendon was tempura served over a bed of rice until I came here. My husband was the one who introduced me to this restaurant after he came here with some friends. He was raving about it so of course I had to try for myself. We decided to stop by for dinner on a Saturday around 6pm, and we were surprised that there wasn't a line given the high reviews on Yelp. Our server was really friendly and started us off with some free appetizers after we ordered! The miso soup, salad, and japchae were tasty. We ordered two tendon bowls - Ari and Chicken. Tempuras were nice and crispy and wasn't too salty like other places. My favorite was the shrimp. The Ari Sushi was also extremely tasty and had the perfect crunch and sauce in every bite. Would love to come back to try other items on their menu. Glad that there is such a great restaurant in Dublin that I can swing by the next time I'm in town. read more

Second time trying this please for bento style lunch. First time was delivery and today I picked it up. This place is setup very nicely. Nice, bright, clean, happy modern feel inside. The staff is very pleasant as well. I love the combo of items when you get them tempura. Most places give you mostly starchy veggies for the most part, which can all taste like a potato. The side salad is always fresh and I'm obsessed with the dressing. First time trying with friends. They've been there once few years ago and not liking it. Mostly because of their price. They decided to give them another try so I tagalong. Okay, looking at the menu, I wanted to try their lunch nigiri mix, but with uncertainty, we asked the server how big the portion is. The server came back and told us they only serve 7 nigiri (they did mention the size is small) and that's it. Wow, with the price of $23 and I could only get 7 small nigiri? No way. We then all tried their lunch set, but unfortunately, nothing special. The price does not worth it at all. They started with serving miso soup and jaepchae as appetizers. But once the lunch set was served, I went speechless. Their portion was extremely small and sauce was everywhere. Where my California roll and salad were drowned in the sauce. I ordered spicy chicken, but seems like only the 4 pieces of California roll has rice, I don't see they came with rice. Didn't surprise me with their taste either. The lunch set came with a small "dessert", which was shaved sugar ice. I tasted nothing but sweet, dead sweet. Overall experience was not pleasant, store looks nice and clean but food and price is not, not enough to make me go again. read more

We were excited to find a tendon place in the bay, so we made the trek from San Jose on a Monday evening. We got here around 6:30pm - it wasn't too busy, we got seated right away. The servers were very nice and attentive. We ordered hot tea to help with the chill. For foods we got: - anago tendon - soft shell crab tendon - 15pc chef's choice sashimi - amaebi nigiri - seared scallop nigiri We were served soup, salad and what seemed like japchae-style noodles. The noodles were surprisingly really, really good and flavorful. Our favorites were the nigiris. The sashimi was fresh but pretty basic and nothing special (probably wouldn't get this again). Unfortunately, the tendons were just okay. There wasn't enough sauce and it really lacked flavor. The tempura also wasn't as crispy. I've had better tendon in SoCal tbh. I did appreciate the self-serve ginger and pickled garlic at the table, these were yummy! I also noticed that everyone else who ordered hot tea got their own hot tea pot, and we didn't (just two cups, where the servers would have to come refill them). At first, I thought that maybe it was exclusive to tables with 3+, but a table of 2 next to us got a tea pot. We had to ask for more for hot tea a couple times. Not a big deal but something to note. All in all, did it satisfy our tendon craving? Surrrreeee. Will we drive from San Jose for this place, and for this place only? Probably not. not too many places in the Bay area focus on tendon bowls. so to my pleasant surprise, I saw Ari Sushi offered them! the bowls are legit and the tempura didn't look like premade or frozen then fried. they even had an egg in there to mix into your rice. perfect amount of sauce drizzled over as well. a bowl serving is pretty filling depending on how hungry you are. it's Korean owned so in addition to your main, you also get a miso soup, a corn salad, and a side of japchae. a great meal! the restaurant is bright and airy. you can dine in and place your order with the server, then pay at the register upon departure. overall, solid (and rare) option for legit tendon bowls! read more

Previously, they used to offer a free dessert at the end of the meal, but under the new management, that perk has been discontinued. The restaurant still has shelves next to each table stocked with common items you'd typically ask the server for, allowing you to help yourself. These include utensils, cups, napkins, condiments, sauces, and more. During my most recent visit, the restaurant seemed a bit short-staffed, so the self-service shelves made sense as a practical solution. My first visit to Ari sushi was a success. My girl friend and I went here right when they opened for their dinner service. The staff was attentive and greeted us quickly. The server was available throughout the meal for anything we needed. The portion sizes are great! I will say some of the rolls are larger in circumference than I prefer but they were so delicious. We were also given several complimentary items with our meal including salad, miso soup, japchae, hot tea and a sorbet for dessert. I will absolutely be making this restaurant one of my regular visits when I am in town. One odd thing is that you do pay at the front kiosk prior to exiting which I wasn't used to but it was kind of nice instead of waiting for someone to bring a bill. read more

Right or wrong, when I've had a bad experience with a restaurant, I'm usually reluctant to return when it appears that ownership has changed. I hadn't been back during the last ownership and the reviews for the current incarnation looked pretty decent. We dropped in around 12:30 for lunch. The restaurant didn't appear to be too busy, maybe five or six tables in use. We were told to sit anywhere and we choose a table in the back right hand side after entering. Two clipboards were dropped off. They were numerous loose pages that made up the menu. We both fixated on the two/three item lunch bento boxes. On the table were containers that held napkins, chopsticks, Soy Sauce, Pickled Scallions, Ginger and Japanese Pickled Radish. She ordered Beef Teriyaki, Saba and a Spicy Tuna Roll. I ordered Tonkatsu, Tempura and a California Roll. After Miso Soup, the Rolls were served on separate plates. The only negative critique I might have is that the Rolls weren't tightly wrapped (see my pictures). It may have been that the rice was not properly seasoned which would help the rice to bind better. When the Bentos arrived, besides the entrees, each also had a Cold Salad, Rice, Edamame, Slice of Orange and the appropriate sauces. We both really enjoyed our meals. Our server came by a few times to check on us. We ended up taking most of our rolls with us because we were simply stuffed. The restaurant appears to be much brighter than I remembered. The food came out relatively quickly. When we were done, after the dishes were cleared, we were presented with a small portion of flavored ice with some green specks in it. We weren't quite sure what it was, but it was a good palate cleanser. We'll have to come back when we're in the area to try some sashimi. read more

A very interesting place. The format is a little different as there is a cary next to each table which is kinda convenient and it alleviates the server's workload but a little unorthodox IMO. They also specialize in tendon which is a new thing to me. What struck me was the super clean and minimalist interior. I kinda liked that aspect of it. The restaurant is located in a strip mall so all these elements added to the unorthodox nature of the restaurant. The menu has all the faves, Great selection of appetizers, Salads, Noodle bowls, Entrees, Sushi rolls/Nigiri and of course, Tendons. They also have lunch and dinner specials if that's your thing. I went with a special roll and it was quite delicious! The service was ok. Our server was a young lady and I sensed that she was either new to the profession or to the restaurant. The service was excellent, and they even offer a complimentary dessert at the end--a small scoop of shaved ice topped with what seemed like cucumber syrup. It was the perfect refreshing treat to wrap up the meal. Their prices seemed to increase and their sushi choice wasn't anything out of the ordinary. However, I would like to give a shoutout to their tendon menu. Their tempura was fried flawlessly and it was sooo crunchy with each bite. There's sauce that is poured over the tempura and rice which is very tasty. The entree comes with salad and soup as well. Overall, I would come back for their tendon but not much for their sushi. Since moving to the area, this has been our go to spot for sushi. We've had such a pleasant experience every time we come and get our sushi fix. We love how clean and organized the restaurant is, and even met the owner who was super friendly! After ordering, we were given a corn + miso salad, miso soup as well as cold japchae noodles. All delicious and was just what we needed as we waited for our entrees to arrive! We also ordered hot tea and were given 2 cups which were refilled promptly as needed. (Mentioning since another review noticed they were given cups instead of the teapot) Not sure why, but our precious visit, we were given the teapot and yesterday's visit we were given the cups. I have no preference either way though! The tea was the perfect temp and tasted just the same. The food arrived quickly and was delicious. For appetizers, we ordered the chicken karaage. Although still flavorful, it can sometimes be a hit or miss with the size. The small pieces of chicken unfortunately tend to be quite dry although we've had karaage other times when they were bigger pieces of chicken that were perfectly moist on the inside and crunchy on the outside. As for the sushi rolls, we ordered the Samurai, Fuji, and Dragon which were absolutely delicious and can't wait to order again! Unfortunately, the Baked Scallop wasn't what we expected and probably wouldn't order again on our next visit. Although the scallops were baked or heated to melt the cheese, the California rolls underneath were cold. When we were done with our meal, we were given a melon ball sized dessert which reminded me of shave ice but with a hint of sweetness and basil or mint? I had the 3 item bento box that came with edamame, salad, miso soup, teriyaki salmon, gyoza and 3 piece nigiri. The only thing that seemed a little off was the salad. Excellent sushi in Dublin! I was driving to a soccer tournament and needed somewhere to stop by for dinner off of 580. Yelp pointed me to this place. It's located in a strip mall. Parking was easy for a Friday night and we got seated right away. I loved how clean and bright the place felt. There is a sushi bar if you want to sit there, but we sat at our town table. I ordered Chef's choice omakase 7 pieces, California roll and the Chicken Teriyaki dinner platen for my son and I. It was the perfect amount of food and he ate everything! Came here on a weekday afternoon with my mom for the first time because I heard good stuff about their ten don. My mom got a bento box - a perfect amount of food for lunch. The Saba was very juicy even after grilling & most places can't get that down! We received complimentary salad with some corn dressing - it was very refreshing. Also got some jap chae as an app. My ebi ten don arrived with 4 shrimps! My favvvv. The tempura was fried perfectly. My only complaint would be that the rice on the bottom was drenched in too much sauce. Next time, I would ask for the sauce on the side and do it myself. Service was quick. Place was clean. I've been curious about Ari Sushi and it has been on my Yelp bookmarks for a while. Their tendon pictures looked so good, but it is out of the way for me unless I'm actually around the area. Today was the day! After a strenuous hike, this was well earned and deserved, so my partner and I decided to give this place a try. Ari Sushi is located inside a plaza and there are plenty of parking available. We arrived at Ari around 5:30PM-ish, so pretty early dinner on a Saturday. This place looked spacious, clean, and simple, but great. The menu is a lot bigger than I expected. On Yelp, I saw that most of their most popular dishes were tendon, so that's what I thought they mainly serve, but they do a lot of bento, sushi, and rolls as well. Pretty extensive menu. Between my partner and I, we ordered edamame as appetizer, and shared a Seared Hamachi nigiri and Seared Hotate nigiri. My partner ordered the Ebi Tendon as his main, while I opted for Chicken Tendon. Food came pretty fast. We were each given a bowl of miso soup and sweet corn salad as complementary starters as well. They also gave a bigger plate of complementary japchae. Also, they have a jar of ginger slices, pickled shallots, and pickled radish on every table. So plenty to share from the start. They were all okay! I like the variety these added to the meal. For our order, the edamame came first. It was made well! It wasn't overcooked, so it had a bit of crunch to it. I love edamame, so I enjoyed this even if it's just a very simple dish. Then came the two seared nigiri. We tried the Hamachi Nigiri first, and unfortunately, this was a bit of a miss. It was seared nicely, but overcooked, so the Hamachi didn't have the buttery taste of a raw fish. The Hamachi slices were white with just a tad bit of pink to it. It did have a nice smokey flavor to it though. I think it was also lacking a bit of flavor. Maybe it could have used a light sauce glaze on it. On the other hand, the seared Hotate Nigiri was made well! It looked like it had a bit of sauce on the top. It was lightly seared, and the Hotate retained it's buttery texture. It was delicious! As for my main dish, the Chicken Tendon! Portion size was great. I didn't exactly know if there was a difference between tempura and tendon, but according to Google, tendon is just 'tempura' and 'donbori' put together, haha. My Chicken Tendon came with chicken, 2 shrimps, seaweed, kabocha, eggplant, shishito pepper, and a soft boiled egg. Plenty of variety. I think my favorite of the tempura was the seaweed actually. It has a mild sweet taste to it and it's just a thin crispy chip basically. I think the rest of the tempura could use more flavor, though I would say that they do their batter and frying pretty nicely. Each tempura had a light batter and none of it was super oily. The chicken part of it was like mini chicken kaarage. My bowl had plenty of pieces in there, but I think it would be even better if they gave bigger and less pieces, rather than lots of small pieces. I rather get more pieces of juicy chicken bites, as opposed to drier crunchy battered bits. My second favorite piece was the eggplant because it's moist and soft, but had a crunchy outer layer. I thought the egg was pretty cool too! Haven't seen a fried egg like that. It might have helped if they gave some sort of tempura dipping sauce on the side because I think most of them could use a bit more flavor. All in all, I enjoyed my tendon bowl! They even gave a delicious complementary dessert as well - shiso sherbet! This may have been the best part of the meal just because it was so unique. Light and sweet, but you clearly get the shiso flavor. When all is said and done, you just walk up to the counter in the front and close your tab. I'm definitely glad I checked Ari Sushi off my Yelp bookmarks. It's a nice, once-in-a-while, indulgent meal. If I happen to be in the area again, I may just come try their sushi next time.
