Fri 6:45, 9 people in line with one staff building bowls. He needs help!

3 Stars for service - the food is fine, the place is fine. Not super welcoming to eat in as it's dark but there are a few seats available. The staff are kind. However, there aren't enough staff working here. On several trips, it has taken half hour to get our poke bowl because there are a handful of customers and only one staff building the very customized bowls. There is a staff member in the kitchen working as well. Twice now my orders through Uber Eats has been cancelled due to them not being able to accommodate. Staff can move a little faster sometimes, but seems to be a general lack of staffing especially during busier times (later half of the week, dinner). We have walked away from Poke Don twice as a result of not being able to wait more than 30 minutes.

After torturing our dog at the Dog Wash, we needed refueling. We hadn't been back to Poke Don in a long time, so we headed over. Because it was so hot, I waited in the car with the dog, the air conditioning running. My wife went in and placed the order and waited while it was prepared. A few customers had exited as we were figuring out what we wanted. She was the only customer to order and the one man working the counter took her order and prepared it. Other guests arrived and more employees came out from the back to help them. The gentleman wanted to know what we wanted for each section of our bowls, while making both bowls at the same time. She was quite happy with her bowl. I won't say that I wasn't happy BUT there was a hint of spice in my bowl and I did not order anything that should have been spicy. Overall, while we enjoyed our bowls, it seems like these were the smallest portioned "large" Poke bowls that we've ever received. Flavor and texture wise, they were on point. Would we dine here again? Probably, if in the area, but I wouldn't go out of my way.

Stopped by Poke Don in San Ramon because I was craving a poke bowl. The place has a nice setup and plenty of topping options to customize your bowl just the way you like it -- definitely a plus! The salmon and tuna were fresh and tasted great, which is exactly what I was hoping for. However, I did notice that some of the other fish -- especially the ones that aren't ordered as often -- looked pretty dry and not as appealing. So I stuck to the basics. One major downside: the service was very slow. There were only three customers ahead of me, but it still took nearly 20 minutes to get through the line. It wasn't super busy, so it felt like the team just wasn't moving efficiently or was possibly short-staffed. Overall, the poke bowl I got was solid, and I'd consider coming back for the fresh salmon and tuna. But if you're in a hurry or expecting quick service, this might not be the best spot during peak times.

Hands down THE best poke in town. Fresh fish, fresh toppings and friendly staff every time. The sauces are THE BEST. Been coming here for years and won't ever stop. 10/10 recommend.

First time stopping here- found it on Yelp. My bowl was really good. I have to say I've never been to place that offers Unagi as one of its proteins so I was pleasantly surprised. The service was unfortunately eh but it's fine. I actually thought the value for what I got was pretty good too. One thing I wish they weren't so stingy with was their crab salad.

great poke bowl. prices are absurd and there is hardly any staff, the service takes forever! not to mention the employee is always sidetracked with other tasks so it takes a while for anything to get done. prices could be lowered or more staff could be hired.

    Unagi and Toro ... Beautiful!

Poke Don is absolutely delicious. My friend and I had a a bowl with Tuna as the focal point and topped it off with sliced Unagi. (Broiled Eel) Every ingredient is individually prepared with care and attention. All the The fish is fresh and tasty. Vibrant and refreshing vegetables decorate the bowl. Most importantly, the rice! The rice was perfect. The fact that Poke Don is so clean and and inviting is a testament to the owners' care for his restaurant and for his clients. Highly recommended.

Portions got small today! It was much bigger before. Service is standard. Hygiene is good. Seating is outside only.

Medium bowl. Half brown rice/ have mixed greens with only salmon.

Black girl tried to lock the doors 2:50 today and they don't close until 3. She opened the door when she saw me standing outside but she was clearly annoyed and rude and didn't want to serve me. I'm never going back

Do you guys do in-door dining now?

This location has never really been setup to accommodate indoor dining. When there's a line, everybody's butts would be at table level!!

What time do you open and close?

Their hours are less than consistent, and they open for lunch, then close and reopen for dinner

Can you order online for pickup?

Sadly, no. Their menu is so wide and varied, it's nearly impossible to accommodate online or phone orders

Gluten free sauce options or all soy sauce based?

spicy miyo n mango no soy

I like that they also allow a range of 2 days before and 2 days after your birthday to give a window time to come eat for free. They got a good variety of food ranging from sushi, Chinese food, seafood, malatang and desserts! Sushi was decent for buffet sushi and I like that they serve rolls, nigiri and even sashimi. You can see the workers slicing them up live. The seafood was good and was often replenished since everyone and their mamas be grabbing half the tray. Decent Chinese food like noodles, fried rice, dim sum, meat, etc.. I didn't try their malatang but I'm curious how the broth and flavor are. For dessert they have a chocolate fountain you can dip your marshmallow in. I will say the chocolate is a bit bitter. They also have other sweets and fruits. Their little cup desserts were mid. I also like how you can get free drinks from their machine and to the right of it is free refrigerated water bottles and this half cup Asian drink with white fungus. They have another refrigerator with other bottled drinks but you have to pay 2 bucks each for that. They also have icecream! Overall, the service was good and I liked how they came to clear out plates where there were leftover seafood shells. The inside also looks clean and nice! I would definitely come back here again!

If I remember correctly, they get some of their seafood locally, from Pillar Point Harbor, by Half Moon Bay. Other fish come from farther afield but quality and cost control is reasonable given the fact that seafood is expensive. I've never been led astray. Order at the counter, find a seat, and food will be delivered to your table. Never had their pasta before. Finally tried their fettuccine. Instead of Alfredo sauce, substituted with butter sauce. Selected shrimp with crab. OMG! So good. Pasta was perfectly al dente. Hate mushy pasta. This pasta was fully cooked but still had texture. The butter sauce was generously studded with garlic. Shrimp were large and plump. Fully cooked but not rubbery at all. Next time, will skip the crab which disintegrated into the sauce. Go all shrimp or maybe try with fish. The fried clam strips appetizer was a huge portion and totally unnecessary. The fettuccine was enough of a meal by itself. In fact, was so full after the clams, took most of the fettuccine home. Even as leftovers, the shrimp and fettuccine was so delicious for dinner the next day. To cap it off, staff from the head chef to the cashier/server were so friendly and helpful.
