I was told it was my imagination and that perhaps I wasn't feeling well. That was incredibly frustrating and dismissive. Less than a year later, I called again for the same issue--again I was told I was imagining it. Three months later, in the middle of summer, I had no air conditioning. This time there was no denying the problem--it was 88 degrees inside my home. The diagnosis was that the coils needed to be replaced. The stress of waiting to see if Air Ref would cover the labor was immense, but thankfully Trane ultimately picked up the bill. Then, just two months later, the compressor failed. Again, I had to hold my breath to see if Trane would pick up the charge because Air Ref would not. I was so relieved that Trane did. During an unusually cold Florida winter this year, my heat also stopped working. Air Ref was happy to come out and bill me for service. I decided to dress in layers. They would not acknowledge this brand new system that has repeatedly failed. They said, Trane will not do anything else. I am writing this review on a day when it is 92 degrees outside, with a heat index of around 110 degrees, and once again my air conditioner is not working.

The blower motor needed to be replaced again (4th time...) and they could not get the job done. Tech was here on a Friday and said he can get the part on Monday so I went the weekend without AC. Monday comes and I'm calling them to find out when they will be here. "Oh, ahh we need to email you a proposal first". No proposal arrives. I call back Tuesday morning and they emailed it to a wrong address (I'm already in their system so this is weird). I get the proposal and it's high but I agreed and sent it back. Nothing from them all day...no follow-up, no appointment, no nothing. I call them around 4pm and they say " Oh, yeah we have your signed proposal but now we need to locate the part"..(???). I called Carrier Customer Service and the rep said find someone else. The quote is outrageous for a 30 min job and the part is locally available (they checked their system). I called another AC Company who provided a quote for HALF THE PRICE and was here Weds AM with the part in hand. Problem fixed in less than 1 hr. Perfect Cooling is a hot mess. 4 Days & they couldn't get a simple job completed but they were diligent & efficient in sending me a "$130 DIAGNOSTIC FEE" invoice....unbelievable. We will NOT be using them again for any service or when we purchase our new AC system. Do yourself a favor and find another AC company.

I checked with some neighbors and they were quite happy with The Cool Team, so I took the plunge! The telephone reps at their office were friendly, knowledgable and super efficient. They scheduled the installation within the tight timeframe we needed. The crew arrived on time and were very professional and friendly. They wore masks the whole time they were inside our condo and put down lots of canvas tarps to keep our place clean. The job took a little over 4 hours and I'm very happy with the results. My experience with CoolTeam is limited to services provided under a yearly service contract for a…read moreKings Point Delray Beach condo. It appears that CoolTeam markets heavily within this and other 55+ retirement communities, providing yearly maintenance and minor repairs (by contracts where the rate is based on age of appliances), to all appliances within a unit, plus minor electrical and plumbing. I think many of the elderly residents, especially those 80+, take comfort knowing that if something goes wrong with their HVAC or dishwasher or washing machine, they can call one number and a technician is scheduled. I used services under the existing service contract to have an AC unit checked and tuned-up, which cost $39.95, and again to have the coils cleaned on the AC, which cost $334. The coils probably had never been cleaned in the 10 years the unit was in place, as they were filthy, likely due to the use of a filter which was improperly sized, allowing dirt to enter the unit. Establishing an appointment for either wasn't difficult, call their local or toll free unit. The reason for the 3star rating was the demeanor of the tech who handled both service calls. He was gruff. He was abrupt. He had an annoyed tone in his responses to simple questions I asked. He was rushing. He was dismissive. He talked down to me. Bottom line, he was nasty, as if he was constipated and needed to take a good dump, or more likely, just plain disgusted with his life as a service tech where 95% of his clients were 85 years old. I'm not reading too much into his behavior, I think I'm reading him well. When I mentioned him to my contractor who had just finished renovating the condo, he knew exactly who I meant, and said "I'll talk to him when he arrives and set him straight". I don't like, no, I am repelled by service providers who are dealing with clientele in the 80's who treat them with disrespect, annoyance, impatience. Their behavior is intimidating to these elderly and sometimes frail or infirm residents. Management of CoolTeam should counsel this tech to be nicer and more sensitive. While I sensed he was efficient and competent and did what needed to be done correctly, I felt like telling him he was a nasty angry man, and that I hoped his Mom or Dad or Grandparents were never treated as rudely and insensitively as he interacted with me. And I'm not in my 80's, far from it. Oh, I still tipped him well, as my bleeding heart liberal NY upbringing came to the forefront and I figured most elderly residents under tipped or didn't tip at all, and he deserved to be recognized for his efficient and competent work. But he was nasty, simply grump, nasty, rude, abrupt. Like he was doing me a favor showing up and doing his job. (In college sociology course we learned the concept of "role disdain" - that's when someone's despises the responsibilities of their jobs, and takes out their annoyance about their life on those they interact with. I'm certain we meet a lot of people like that, huh? Check out other companies which provide the same package service contracts. Ask neighbors.

Basically, they can do only cookie cutter - if everything goes great. If there are problems they fix them slipshod. Asking them to fix that was raising frustration from their side! They ask everything to pay upfront. Never do that! After the job, their installation handler Josh just started ignoring me!! Why? Well, because you paid them and you are not interested anymore.
