Polar Sweets in Hinesville, GA is a local poke bowl, rolled ice cream, and boba spot. I was in town and decided to stop by to try their boba. As a Korean-American, I have high standards for boba, but I'm very open minded to trying different boba spots! Unfortunately, the bubble tea at polar sweets was not good..... at all. To be honest, it was probably the worst boba I have had in a long time. I know that's harsh, but it's my truth. This is such a great location and I think this spot has the potential to make great boba!! But unless changes are made... it was the worst I have had. I ordered a rose milk tea with half the sweetness level (50% added sweetener), and boba. My husband got the classic milk tea... There are a few red flags for me. 1, Everything is powder based, even their "green tea" is not freshly brewed tea and is simply powder. I think if they invested in brewing fresh black tea or green tea, it would significantly get better. 2. The rose tea... I asked for half sweetness and I heard the associate say amongst each other that they put the regular level of sweetness in it. Instead of making me a new one, they just added a ton of more milk. My drink tasted like straight up milk with a hint of rose? I can understand if adjusting the sweetness level isn't a familiar concept, so I can see if this was like a "first time" situation. However, the solution should have been to make me a new drink OR put more of the rose powder to make the drink into a portion of two, where both drinks will be 50% sweetness. 3. The boba was also very stale. I used to work at a boba spot, so I can 110% understand the challenge it is to maintain a constantly chewy yet soft boba. But it was super stale, which made it stick in between teeth and just isn't the same texture of tapioca. Overall, I had a very disappointing experience here, but I give them a 2 star because the worker I did talk to was super cool. There were a lot of workers there, and there is a variety of options that I didn't have the opportunity to try. Those might be amazing! The shop has lots of potential and I can tell it was built and designed with customers in mind. It seems like a place families can go and make cute little memories. I have a big heart for local shops and entrepreneurs, but this one just like.... It just needs to change their approach to boba if that's one of their main selling points. read more

Foods unique for the area. I enjoyed it both times I went. I only go there for the ice cream rolls, so can't really reference anything else, like their Boba tea etc etc, but for what it is, it's a nice change from a chain ice cream place. Hinesville finally has a rolled ice cream shop and on top of that they serve the best boba tea in town. This place is recently new and though I prefer to wait a bit before visiting newer establishments ( so they can work out all their kinks) when we recently went it didn't seem like they had just opened, which says a lot. Employees were very sweet making sure everybody was in the right line and answered any questions we had. Their menu was great with about 17 different rolled ice cream flavors to choice from and then toppings galore. There was no shortage of toppings when we went. And then for the boba teas and fraps there were tons of flavors to choose from as well, coming in a 16oz or 22oz option. When we went Sunday it was pretty busy but we still got lucky and found a table in the back. We ordered the strawberry crunch and cookies and cream rolled ice cream with 3 toppings each as well as a green tea boba drink. My son loved being able to stand at the window and watch them craft up their ice cream rolls ( though you can have a seat as well and they'll call your ticket number). The rolled ice creams we selected were delicious and huge, my son and I could have easily shared though I'm sure he wouldn't have wanted to do that. My husband's boba was exceptional as well, not too sweet or syrupy, really tasted like the real deal boba teas I've had on the west coast. We really enjoyed the whole experience, and I'm glad Hinesville is finally catching on to the trend of serving rolled ice cream as well as real boba teas. This is a great addition to Hinesville and we'll definitely be back. read more

Yummy! Went into get there waffle cone but they weren't selling it for the time being because of covid, so I got their rolled ice cream and it was super good, fresh fruit on top. Would have loved to try the fresh waffle cone but I'll have to come back. read more

Came in one night around 8:45 PM for some boba. We were the only customers at that time and they were starting to pre-close. One of the employees turned the music up so loud that they were basically shouting at each other. I couldn't hear the person I was talking to. More people came in and nobody bothered turning the music down so they could actually hear what people were ordering instead of asking them to repeat themselves. We got the taro & mango boba. In a rush I went in to ask for a boba tea for my niece. $6.16 I give the cashier $11.16 it literally took me like 5 times explaining my cash back would be $5 guess the manager or whomever the heck she was didn't like that I was about to break out crayons to explain it to the cashier and told me to leave. Stopped in for some rolled ice cream. My husband and I first timers. I had the Honey Dew with condensed milk, strawberries, and mini marshmallows and my husband had the Oreo with Oreos, butterfingers, and cookie dough! It was SO GOOD. We will definitely be back. My husband is still talking about the ice cream 3 hours later. 1st time here loved it the 3 girls greeted us as soon as we came in asked if this is our 1st time there. They gave us plenty of time to figure out what we wanted n gave us they run down of what they served n how to order it. You get ur choice of ice cream n 3 topping free I've never had rolled ice cream before but that's what interests me to find this sweet shop I had the coffee ice cream with vanilla wafer, condensed milk, n fruity pebbles. Yes that doesn't sound like a good combination but it was actually super delicious n fresh. I also let them know I had a chocolate allergy and they had a special prep area for people with food allergies which was wonderful to know they thought about people with allergies. The shop is in the Walmart plaza area. It's a nice place, friendly and welcoming atmosphere. The honey boba itself is very good. Looking at the other comments I can agree that it is very milky. I got almond milk with no whipped cream to see if that helped but it tastes like they dumped a bunch of whipped cream inside the actual matcha frappe. I could barely taste the matcha, it only tasted like sugary milk. I couldn't drink the whole thing, it made me feel sick and I love sweets. read more
