My friend and I went to The Toasted Yolk on the recommendation of my sister-in-law. We went on a very busy Sunday morning! The parking lot was so full! But we did not let that deter us and we went in and used the electronic device to get us on a waiting list. We were told 15 minutes, but we waited no more than 10. I am going to take into consideration the massive crowd, and say that our food and drink came in very reasonable time considering. We were not in a hurry, and kind of enjoy the bustle and the people. Our waitress was exceedingly friendly, very helpful and very accommodating. My friend and I each got a fancy Sunday brunch cocktail. Mine was strawberry, and it was delicious. She loved hers as well, she got the grapefruit one. They were lovely to look at and delicious and refreshing. A very fun way to start our Sunday morning. We both ordered the California club sandwich and I asked for gluten-free bread. The sandwich was delicious and the gluten-free bread was good. If you know about gluten-free bread and the heartache of searching for a decent slice, then you'll appreciate this bread on your sandwich. I got french fries which seems I have to order every single time even as I contemplate the healthier side choices. They were great, hot, fresh, crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. My friend got a side salad which she was happy with, obviously far more willpower than I have. She was not happy with the dressing she had chosen and the waitress happily brought her a different one. While we were there, I noticed everybody was working so hard and the customers all around us seem to be very much enjoying themselves. I don't know if this should really be relevant in my review but there was a group of four people who were sat down in a table nearby who upon being seated asked the waitress immediately if they could get their food quickly and she told them that it probably would not be as fast as they would like it. At which point they got up and left. The waitress seemed to feel bad about that, but when the manager came over to investigate, he simply took it in stride and then started to clean the table off for the next group. My friend and I had to wonder who would come into such a bustling and packed restaurant and think that they were going to get served especially fast. Another thing about we noticed about the manager is that he seemed very much hands-on and all over the place in the restaurant. He was very friendly when we looked at the check-in device and wondered what we were doing ~ he made jokes that made us feel less Luddite like. He bussed tables and sat people, and checked on things, and generally looked like the kind of manager of that Gordon Ramsay would appreciate. The menu has something for everybody! And some very exciting options that we have to go back and experience. Lots of add-ons for everything, a huge variety of choices. My sister-in-law had recommended the avocado toast, and I was tempted. I was also tempted by the biscuit and gravy and the eggs Benedict, which are hard for me to resist at brunch. but I reasonably only ordered one meal for me. It's been a long review, but I have to say the meal really was that good and the whole experience was very enjoyable. What a great place! Close by Savannah Hilton Head International Airport. Place is huge! That warm southern hospitality people talk about is the real deal here. From being greeted to our delightfully cheery & attentive waitress, the service is stellar. Plenty of booths and tables, there are different rooms throughout the place. Plenty of Breakfast & lunch options. Amazing coffee, but no real cream. You get the little international delight containers. I am not a fan. I like it in little pitcher to pour in. Food came fast! I only gave 4 stars because it was clear my sides got plated long before my eggs. Eggs were piping hot. My hashbrown casserole was barely warm. I didn't say anything because we were in rush to hit the road for a long ride home, but they were delicious. This cafe has a Mediterranean vibe going on and is opened for breakfast and lunch. It closes around 3:00pm daily. The wait staff were very friendly and helpful. The service was good. Our food came out fast and my husband's breakfast was delicious and just what he ordered and expected. I ordered chicken salad on a croissant. However, they had no croissants available even though it's one of the $10 featured items. I settled for the summer salad with strawberries and candy walnuts. I was disappointed. It looked like a regular tossed salad with a couple of strawberries and candies nuts throwing on top with some sliced turkey or chicken.(I couldn't tell the difference.) just throwing on top. The restaurant was very clean and as I said the weight staff were very friendly and the service was fast. My friends and I visited this place again. And I'm sorry but I cannot recommend it. The staff is welcoming and the waitress was very helpful and on top things. The food however was just bland in areas and cold. One dish, brisket was cold after it was made accidentally with eggs, which was caught by the waitress and remade. And brought to us cold. My other friend got "kinda cold" grits. I got junk yard hash browns which sounded great on paper. So all in all keep looking. read more

I would say this is a solid but simple breakfast place, right next to the airport which is nice if you're traveling. My meal was one of the better/more creative ones, the west coast Arnold eggs Benedict. I substituted the bacon with turkey sausage which I think actually worked better for the meal. The rest of the meals in my party were all a variation of eggs, sausage and hash brown casserole. Nothing to complaint about, but also nothing to exactly praise. Not too pricey either. I might go again to try once more but wouldn't exactly say it's a must have when visiting Savannah. Only reason I ate here was because Sam Snead's was closed for lunch on the way to the airport. That being said, I was pleasantly surprised by the menu. Lots of good choices. I ordered an omelette. Asked for it cooked soft or loose. But it came medium well. The bartender disappeared several times. My food did arrive promptly, even before my water, which I had to ask for twice. The cheese grits were great. The sourdough toast was really good but only came with enough butter to cover half of one slice. Took forever for bartender to return just so I could ask for more. Complete inattention from her the entire time I was there. Had to flag her down to get the check after 10 minutes with plates piled up with napkin on top. I would return but not sit at the bar again. We were sat for over an hour waiting on our food. Our waitress informed us that she forgot to input our food and didn't write it down so she needed to retake our order. Once we finally got our order there were items that were incorrect but she walked away before we could say anything. Not that we would have after that wait. We then asked for syrup and had to wait another ten minutes before we reminded her. Meanwhile we saw people who got here after us leaving before us. We were sat 1:03 and left 2:47. A great brunch spot in Savanah! We started out with the tortilla soup and the blueberry donuts. Everything came out hot and relatively quickly. I really enjoyed the compote with the donuts! I think the best dish we ordered was the chicken sandwich. Delicious. Truly no complaints. The chicken was moist and the breaded was incredible. Whatever seasoning blend they used- perfection. Same with their onion rings. The pretzel bun and BBQ ranch just made it even better. My brother ordered this dish, but I think I ended up eating most of it. I'm not the biggest grits fan, but their cheesy grits were not bad. The toasted yolk was good. The yolk was nice and runny and the bread was generously buttered. My one complaint is that it was a rather heavy meal. You can definitely taste all of the butter they use (which makes the food delicious, so I'm not sure this is really a complaint). We stopped by The Toasted Yolk Café after a flight delay and figured brunch would be a good way to pass the time. We joined the waitlist online and were told about a five-minute wait, which was accurate -- we were seated within that timeframe. Unfortunately, things went downhill from there. Our booth hadn't been properly cleaned. The table was dirty, and there was visible food left on the seat, which was pretty off-putting right from the start. The food did come out quickly, which I appreciated. However, the quality didn't match the price point. The bacon was stringy, and overall everything felt very average. The "gourmet" coffee was especially disappointing -- at $5 no refills, it was essentially standard pot coffee dressed up with a higher price tag. Definitely not worth it. The mimosa was decent at $12 a glass, but nothing memorable. One thing that really stood out (in a negative way) was the manager on duty repeatedly walking past our table with a noticeable body odor. It was very unprofessional to come to work smelling like BO. That's not something you expect in a restaurant environment, and it made the experience uncomfortable. For four people, the total came to $96, which felt extremely overpriced for the quality, cleanliness, and overall experience. Between the mid-level food, dirty seating, and uncomfortable atmosphere, this isn't somewhere I would return. read more

The best part of the experience was the host Tyler. He was amazing and very knowledgeable and held wonderful conversations with my family and talked about the menu with us. He's definitely a shining star at this establishment! The wait was about 21 minutes. Easy check in on the tablet and also nice to be able to watch your status of your wait on the app. The appetizers were amazing and one of a kind. We had the fried banana peppers & churro style donuts. We filled up before we even started on the main course. Sadly: Eggs on everyone's main course meals were extremely overcooked. Cowboy omelette had way too many onions which took away from the taste. Including the overcooked eggs Pancakes- way undercooked Brisket tacos- over cooked eggs, burnt taste. The actual waiter disappeared for almost the full time frame we were there. Overall there's definitely improvements that can be made as I do see this being a great establishment with the right help. My manager ordered lunch for our office from The Toasted Yolk in Pooler, GA. I ordered the Double Decker with Grilled Hash, no changes, just as listed. Simple. When my manager brought my food, I noticed my omelet was just plain egg. Looking at the receipt, everything was marked to be removed: bacon, cheese, tomato, sausage, ham, jalapeño, onions -- essentially everything that makes it the Double Decker. I went back to the restaurant to have it corrected. After explaining the issue to multiple staff members, the manager, Macy, was extremely unprofessional. Instead of calmly addressing the mistake, she was dismissive and rude, loudly insisting that because it was a DoorDash order, I had to handle it through the app. I asked about canceling or refunding directly, but she still refused. After several employees handled my plate back and forth, it was returned with a hole in the bottom of the container. Overall, the food order was wrong, the customer service was unprofessional, and the manager's attitude made the experience worse. Why would anyone order a meat omelet only to receive plain eggs? After staying in Savannah and Tybee Island for the past week and eating all over the place, I have to say, that this restaurant ranked in the top three restaurants that we ate at the entire time we were here! I know a lot of times when you get off the plane, you were in a hurry to get to your destination and try restaurants there, but if you are hungry when you land or hungry before you go, this is a must stop restaurant! We were greeted with a cheerful hostess! They had a very neat menu with a great combination of offerings! The restaurant is extremely clean, modern, with wonderful views of the outside! Then I was given the cold toast that was left out on the kitchen counter. The young lady up front always seems lost and confused every visit, but she's very friendly and nice. I was concerned that the manager would tamper with my food after she kept insisted on taking my food in the back "to reheat my sides" So I ultimately refused the toast, and asked for a refund but the sardonic manager, told me she was not able to perform the transaction. read more

Met my friend here for brunch on a Saturday at 11:30. We were able to be seated. Cute addition to the Pooler area. I like that there's a bar area to sit at- I'm sure it's great for travelers that are staying at the hotels. The food was good! Typical breakfast foods at a decent price.
