Left is "Grill" kielbasa, right is "Hunter" kielbasa.

Don't walk in and order "kielbasa." The first time I went in, I made this error. "They are all kielbasa." No, I didn't know that kielbasa just means sausage. Amazing sausages and Polish sauerkraut. What makes the sauerkraut Polish? Well, it contains just cabbage and salt, and is made, of course, in Poland. The Polonaise brand is thinner sliced, and the Krakus brand is thicker sliced. Also available with cabbage. For grilling, absolutely the best kielbasa around. "Hunter" is smokier and larger, and "Grill" is smaller and juicy. Both are fantastic with the right coarseness of meat (not like hotdogs), and spiced and salted to perfection. Wish they sold Martin's potato long rolls, as that requires an extra trip.

    Next time i willgo in.

Finally got a chance to pop in here to get FRESH Polish sausage, which was terrific. Also got some condiments - horseradish sauce and a grainy mustard. Will definitely be back to try some of the deli meats and sausages. Very cute little place with nice friendly staff. I hope they survive!!

Finally a shop/market that has everything I've ate growing up! They have shops like this up north more regularly but down here by my house, what a treat! I no longer have to hike up to MD or settle for American-ized Polish food from the supermarkets. The shop is tucked away off 123 across the street from Wolf Trap in Vienna with red and white (Polish flag colors) signs in the window so it's not too hard to miss. The inside is small and cozy with racks of all your dry and canned goods. There's a fridge in the back that has some meats, cheeses, & pierogies as well as a deli style window up front with fresh kelbasi, cheeses, and other foods. The owner was a very nice gentleman that showed me all the fresh desserts they had while I made my rounds in the store. He told me that they came from Gdansk(northern Poland) and showed me on this giant map they had on the wall! I picked up my gołabki, paczkis, and other candy/dessert and I was quickly on my way home to eat some food I eat that I rarely get to see. And without a doubt, the food tasted fresh, authentic, tasty, just like my babcia(grandma) used to make me. I cannot wait to come back and get everything else!

Everything I've tried is excellent, from the pierogies to the borscht, but you simply must try their sausage. Whether you get it to take home or on one of their fantastic sandwiches, the quality and flavor of their house-made sausage is out of this world. It's savory, perfectly spiced, and the highlight of any visit. If you are looking for real, hearty comfort food and a fantastic, old-school deli experience, Polka Deli is the place! A lot of these foods are really familiar, and the selection is just so far and wide. I especially love how everything here is true to the ingredients and the pure authenticity of what the food is. Everyone we saw were delighted to greet the folks behind the counter cutting cold cuts, or just to show the sheer amount of pierogi they were stocking up on. At the counter, we ordered from their menu which had a very delicious borsht. It came pipping hot with some dill, and the veggies were nice and cooked down. The sampler is a must try if you want to get a good sense of the foods they offer, really enjoyed the varity of kielbasa and the hot mustard it comes with to dip. Gołąbki was generously filled and pan fried served with stove top potatos. A lot of their pastries are either imported or made in house, and it came in a good variety like poppyseed flavor. We enjoyed the food in their eating nook and enjoyed the really peaceful views of the strip mall. Really here for the homey vibes, something for just about anyone who is missing these nostalgic flavors. Thank you for the wonderful meal!

Marufuji does carry a lot of Japanese imported items you cannot find at other stores in the area, and I think it's a great addition to Tysons. All of the employees are so friendly too, I love stopping by just to browse the new stuff they get in every once in awhile. It absolutely is pricey, since it's a very small specialty grocery store. The produce they carry is fresh, but the markup is quite high. You're likely not going to come here for your regular weekday grocery haul. When I shop here I always make sure I'm shopping deals/sales, otherwise I come here for the meat. They have the best quality A5 wagyu and kurobuta pork. Again it's pricey, but even full price it's worth it for the insane marbling. I did manage to catch their wagyu on a sale where it was $80/lb which was a pretty cool find. I'm also personally a sucker for the gachapon machines at the front of the store (which rotate semi-regularly).

Having relocating to a new office in the area, I was craving some authentic Chinese food for lunch. Upon walking into the supermarket, I knew something smelled different. Gone (or under repair) is the wet market. No fish in tanks, no turtles swimming around and no clams or crabs over ice. Honestly, the place smelled better. However, was the restaurant with the roasted meals and Chinese entrees still there? Yes! $8.49 for a meal of rice and 2 sides (1 veggie + 2 meat choices), plus a soup. I added a ginormous sesame ball (filled w red bean paste. I was hoping for lotus but yeah for price of $1.99 not happening). Total of $11.11. What did I get? Beef tendon with radish (mostly if not all radish and chuck). I'd pass. Eggplant. Yep, I'll get again. Pork patty. Yep, I'll get again. A soup came with the meal. It was tomato. It was OK. So, will I come back again for a box lunch and sesame ball? Yep, I totally will!
