I absolutely love this nail salon. I have been coming here for about 10 years and they always seem to get it right. First of all the polish room one has expanded so it is twice the size it used to be about a year ago. The staff is always so helpful and there is a plethora of nail polish options. Also, the price is fairly reasonable. I was able to get a full set of french tip manicure and a gel pedicure with Massage for $115. I love the fact that I can show a picture online and they are able to duplicate it. The staff is always so kind as well. Very friendly and if you have to wait, they apologize up and down, which is completely not necessary because the place is packed. And for good reason. I enjoy their pedicures but after my last manicure I'm not sure I'll ever go back. The tech over drilled my last dip set that they had also done. They drilled my color off until my actual nails were beyond repair and paper thin. They then just threw a bonding gel over and continued to add 3 layers of color. Still 5 stars. Chill vibes. Every single time I come here it's great. Staff are all so nice and my nails always look fantastic. It's very bright and cheery. Everything is hygienic so I'm not the least bit concerned about any service I get here. Today I got a pedicure. The girl messed up one of my toes, I didn't really even notice and she fixed it without me even saying anything. It's always nice when the nail tech likes it to look perfect. I've been going to the Polish Room for years and they do an amazing job! The nail techs are very experienced and know exactly how to make your nails look fabulous! You can show them a picture of what you want and they will make it happen! I also love the high top bar style seating they have, as well as the comfy pedicure chairs. They recently expanded their space but I would still recommend scheduling an appointment to avoid waiting. read more

I've been coming here for years and always have a good experience! They are always so busy, which is a good sign. They can still accommodate walk ins relatively fast, which is nice. I got a regular mani and regular pedi done. I wish my technician spent a little more time cleaning and scrubbing, but overall she did a great job! My daughters and I have been coming here for years. Today, my daughter came home crying. She said when she was done, in the middle of the salon, one of the gentlemen working said to her, "Why are you so skinny? You're too skinny." She is tall, and very self conscious about her weight. She was very embarrassed and felt like everyone was staring at her. I can't imagine he would ask someone, "Why are you so big?" She has been struggling to gain weight for several years, and found out last week she has a serious disease that prevents her body from absorbing nutrients from food. Regardless of the reason, don't comment on anyone's weight. I hope this is a teaching moment for your staff. We won't be back. read more

I've been coming here for years and the service keeps going down. And today was the last day, I won't be going back. Today my daughter and I went for pedicures. They did very sloppy work as you will see from pics. They rushed through the whole thing. I paid extra for the "deluxe pedicure" which included callous remover...look at these dry ass cracks still on my feet! The massage was terrible, super rushed and light as a feather. They used to be super patient and kind especially with my daughter but they were very unaccomidating. She made her sit up the hope time without bothering to adjust the chair or get a pillow or anything. read more

Updating my review. I spent a lot of money on APRES GEL-X NAIL EXTENSIONS during my 3 month stay in San Francisco to improve the health of my natural nails. This manicure is soak-off. The nail tech at polish room did not know what apres gel-x was and he did not believe me that it was soak-off, so he proceeded to drill my manicure off which damaged my nails. Within 4 days, my manicure has deteriorated and my overall nail health has been compromised. I'm sure it will get worse. ****Any individual practicing in the field of cosmetology should be UP TO DATE on current trends and the employees here are clearly not. This product has been around for almost 8 years**** To add, I was really annoyed at the manager(?) asking me THREE times if it was my first time here (I've come here for several years) and then he insisted on me writing a review even though I told him I already had. I've been going to polish your room 1 for 13 years and I'm never disappointed, Tom and Christina are the very best.

I went in today to get a toe nail repainted because the tech had botched it the day before. I waited 20 minutes for my tech and then she only wanted to buff and fix the one little smudged area. I said no I need the whole nail fixed. The manager and the techs were speaking in a different language about it, but also laughing it seemed at me. It was quite embarrassing . Then they just wanted to put on any color and I said it had to match. The tech was mad that I wanted it done right. She was not very happy but kept asking me if I was happy it it seemed in a sarcastic tone . I didn't try to be a pain but after paying 65.00 the day before I felt it should be done right. I am still not happy with the final result but I just wanted to get out of there, it was very humiliating. The left toenail in the picture is the fixed side and it looks terrible. I also posted a picture of the botched one that she wanted to touch up with white. I won't ever return to this location and maybe not even their company. I wish they would have talked to me in English without laughing at the situation. I am still upset. read more

Went in today for a re-fill and fix after 6 of my brand new (full set, 1.5 week old) nails cracked in half and two of my nails completely broke in half (through my actual nail bed to the point of bleeding when they snapped) because I was hopeful that this issue could be fixed. PAID for this service today only to come home and while pulling items to make a salad for lunch, snapped the same finger that was "fixed" and was assured would be thick enough not to break again. I'm livid. I loved coming here but lately I feel targeted by the techs who used to treat me very nicely. This was NEVER an issue before, neither was being cut or having fungus growing on my nails. However - this has become a problem lately and I'm very upset. I called to let the manager know that yet again, this mail snapped in half AGAIN and all I got was a sorry, I'm so disappointed bc this was my fav nail place. read more

I heard good things about this location form multiple people, but my experience was not very enjoyable. The whole experience just felt uninviting. I had an appointment on a Wednesday at 12:30. when I walked, it was slammed but that was a good thing right? When I checked in with the young receptionist, her attitude was extremely negative and the tone in her voice was sharp and uninviting. So now my first impression had ruined my mood. I proceed to sit and wait 10-15 minutes past my appointment slot, but I get it, they were busy. So now I'm getting frustrated. I opted for the $68 gel deluxe pedicure, and everything was nice. But my mood had already been ruined from the get go. Fast forward 3 days and the gel polish is already peeling off. It's unfortunate because I heard such wonderful things about this place, and it'so really close to home. But I will not be returning for services. read more
