I stopped in on Christmas Eve for a nail appt I asked if I could get a pedicure and nick (owner) was able to get me in and take care of me!! I've had such mixed experiences here. Most of the techs are great, and I have been happy with my nails, but sometimes you have to wait a long time past your appointment to get started which is a pet peeve of mine, I live close and if they're going to be 15 minutes or more behind I would prefer they call instead of making me sit around. read more

Started coming to this salon this past June when I wanted to get my nails done before going to a friend's wedding. Since then, I've been back multiple times for pedicures and gel manicures. No matter which technician I have, I'm always pleased with my nails. Sometimes I'm not asked what shape I want before the clipping and filing starts, but I just make it a point to ask for what I want, no harm done. Prices are fair and comparable to other salons, but I love how bright and clean Polished Salon is. I love the way the colors are painted on the sticks in the flower pots, and my gel manicure always lasts beyond 2 weeks! read more

My nails were in dire need of a gel manicure. It looked like my hands had a brief encounter with a zombie apocalypse. I walked in on a Tuesday afternoon and within 10 minutes, I was taken back for my manicure. There were oodles of choices for colors including cat eye colors and my new favorite, mood changing gel. My manicurist was the owner's niece and just arrived the night before from Florida. She will be working in Akron for the summer. She was sweet, attentive and did an amazing job. She cut and shaped my nails better than my regular manicurist back home in Columbus does. Not only were the prices well worth the quality, but the salon was clean, bright, fresh, organized and well-maintained. I will totally be back again. I may need to schedule more sales calls in this area just to get my nails done! read more

I really like this nail salon. The owners and staff are very friendly. It's clean, has a nice selection of colors and services, and is in good repair since it's fairly new. Monday and Tuesdays are their slow days, but even on a day when all pedicure chairs were full my wait wasn't long. They do accept appointments. They also apparently do waxing and lashes. Polished Salon is in a great location. I booked an appointment the same week I called and was able to get in (my usual place was booked). When I first came in, the girl greeted me and helped me understand what colors they had. The place was extremely clean and organized. The colors were all organized by type in flower pots. When I got my nails done, I asked to get almond shape. I was then told it would cost more money for the shape, something I have never experienced before. Throughout my appointment of getting acrylics, the worker doing my nails was very focused on conversing with another worker and customer getting their nails done. The whole time I felt the worker was very rough with my nails and just wanted to get my nails done. I wouldn't recommend to friends or family, because of price and my experience. read more

Absolutely great service here! The prices are very reasonable (tip can be paid with a credit card) and it's extremely clean inside. They offer a good variety of services with powder, shellac and regular polishes. I went with my mom. She got the spa pedicure and I had shellac manicure done. Both techs Jeff and Nick were very kind and professional; unlike some men in the field that go through the motions but really don't understand what they're doing. If you go there over the weekend I would suggest making an appointment ahead of time. A+++ UPDATE: Almost at the standard two week mark for shellac and no flaking or chips! Several girls I work with recommended Polished for acrylic nails in the area. It's now my go-to Nail Salon! I am always able to get an appointment at the time I desire or walk-in to be seated promptly. When walking into the salon, you are greeted warmly by a receptionist. They have eight garden pots filled with colors to select from. My favorites are Suzi and the Artic Fox or Grandma Kissed A Gaucho or Suzi The First Lady of Nails. I regularly go to Tom to get my acrylics filled. He is very attentive and patient. The cost for both a set and fills are very competitive with local salons! read more

Tucked behind Heinens you'll find this beautiful new nail salon. I've been there twice now. First time for gel polish change before the holidays and this time for gel manicure and pedicure. Staff is very friendly. First time I went in, made an appt on a Fri morning at 9:30. They were busy that morning. When I arrived there were 3 other appts. Second time, I did a walk-in on a Tuesday around 11:30. They were able to get me in right away. They do a great job on my nails. I liked this place and the pedicure was good but the person doing my pedicure when rubbing the lotion on my legs started rubbing the lotion up her entire arms as well. If there was too much lotion on her hands she only did one leg so she could have just rubbed it on my other leg and not on herself.... Just seemed strange and unsanitary to me! read more

So here's the thing, there's good and bad as far as my experience. I was in the area and walked in to see if there were any openings for acrylics, and explained I wanted art on two nails. The girl in the front was helpful, said sure they can do art, and said there was an appt a little bit later that afternoon. Although not once did she smile it was weird. She was nice enough but didn't seem happy. Anyway I came back and explained to the guy what I wanted, he seemed surprised that I wanted art and was reluctant in my opinion. So he takes me to the chair but immediately passes me off to another guy. He also wasn't interested in doing art and they were disputing who was better at it. So this guy did what I wanted on one nail and then said "oh is it ok if I do my own design on the other one?" At this point I was like whatever. I felt that they were put out and not interested in me. The nails were fine, but I won't be going back. I'd rather go somewhere that appreciates my money. read more

I have gone to Polished for dip powder/SNS nails a couple of time. The first two times I was seen right away and the women who did my nails did a good job. The last time I went I waited 25 minutes to be seen. Even though I had scheduled an appointment every tech was with someone when I got there. When I was eventually seen the nail tech kept making comments about how dry my cuticles and skin around my nails were and trimmed all of the dry off without soaking my fingers first. She was pretty aggressive in trimming off the dry skin and a few of my cuticles began to bleed. As I was sitting there I thought "oh this is my fault I should have scheduled for a full manicure." She applied the dip and then started to use an e file to smooth everything out. While filing my nails the nail tech kept hitting the cuticles and skin around my nails. I don't know why I didn't speak up and ask her to be more gentle because it was very painful. 8 of my 10 fingers were bleeding by the time she finished filing my nails. She kept saying "you're bleeding because your cuticles are so dry" which to me seemed like she was just trying to avoid accepting blame. Yes I have dry cuticles but they likely wouldn't have bleed without her touching my cuticles with the electric file. To clean up my bleeding fingers she dabbed at them with the towels that was covered in nail clippings and filings and dip powder which doesn't seem sanitary to me. She then touched a dropper bottle with some cleaning solution to the areas that were bleeding which again doesn't seem sanitary. The whole process was just bad. My fingers hurt for several days after and two eventually became infected. Even though I've had good experiences in the past and I will not go back for fear of being seen by that technician again and because they don't seem to have an appropriate protocol for dealing with clients who are bleeding. I have attached a photo of my nails/fingers the day after getting my nails done. You can see the areas where i was cut around my nails. read more

I wanted to find a nail salon for my occasional gel manicure and pedicure. I found the recommendation on Yelp and sent a request for an appointment. In LESS than 2 minutes I heard a reply and was swiftly scheduled. It's a great vibe, and as it was my first time here-I was eager to observe. I overheard many regulars in the salon, and as my appointment was at 12:15p (they opened at noon) it was already packed when I arrived. My nail tech, Jeffery, was phenomenal!! It had been a while (like a year) since my last pedicure, and I was in major need. Jeffrey took his time, never rushed and did a phenomenal job. My husband and I made an appt since we were running errands in the area and my only complaint is that they aren't closer to where we live! They have all of the colors painted on fake nails and laid out so that you're not guessing how it'll look out of the bottle - and their color selection is so nice. I found my 2 favorite pinks here! I'm really bummed because this place is close by and so convenient however I've gone 3 times and only once did they do a good job. The second time, my gel peeled and this last time (which was done on Tuesday) my gel chipped by Friday. My appointment was also rushed because the guy I go to was double booked by the receptionist so he did mine quickly and did not even wipe them with alcohol when he was finished. They don't put the gel on thick enough and my nails are bending. I'm so disappointed. Will not be going back. Also, their Facebook says gel polish change is $25.00 and every time I go, I am charged $32. I don't get a manicure, they just cut them down. If that costs $7 than this isn't my kind of place. read more
