HOW IS IT POSSIBLE I HAVEN'T REVIEWED POLLEN YET? I was married back in August of 2016. I'm really not a bride's bride, and was super easily overwhelmed by the gazillion things I had to decide on and create a vision around. one of these was flowers. enter Pollen. I don't even remember how I stumbled on them, but I was immediately drawn to the website (it's minimalist and clean) which featured arrangements overflowing with succulents. this seemed fun and unusual and I wanted my wedding to be that. as a part of our DIY decor, I folded about 200 origami cranes and wanted these to be included in all the arrangements. if I remember correctly, I kinda just dropped them off with Jenn and hoped for the best. holy shnikes did Pollen deliver! I mean, they literally delivered (I literally CRIED when I walked into the bridal suite at the venue in Driftwood). the flowers that I didn't even really care that much about or really even want (?? is that a thing?) were PERFECT. they were just so incredibly gorgeous. it was like these super-humans crawled in my brain and created my vision without me even knowing what that was. the cranes were so perfect. anyway, I wanted sunflowers and succulents and my wacky cranes and they just hit it out of the ballpark. I cannot say enough how wonderful Jennifer and Brooke were! 3 days before my wedding I needed to add an extra bouquet and wrist corsage, and they didn't even blink! They were very responsive thru email, and listened to everything I liked and the vision I had for my wedding. When they brought our bouquets, I cried! (somewhat overly emotional!) I called Valentine's Day morning. My mother in law wanted to get something for sister in law. We're in Indy; she's in Austin. After doing a little yelp/google research trying to find a place that isn't terribly far from Cherrywood and could produce something artistic and fun, I settled on Pollen. First off, the young lady who answered the phone (who's name I unfortunately forget) was extremely nice! I said I knew that it was last minute on Valentine's Day and asked if there was any way they could help us out. She explained that they would not have time to go to the wholesaler and pick up anything specific so we'd have to run with what they had. I said no problem, I understood. I told her I was looking for something bright and colorful, mentioned peonies might be nice... and they delivered an exquisite arrangement! Photos don't really do it justice, but sister in law said it looked like something out of a Dutch painting! Pollen Floral Art - Most beautiful bouquet I could have ever dreamed for - Florists Near Me

I really wanted to give Pollen Floral Art 5 stars, but a few things happened that made that not possible. The flowers that we discussed and the colors that I picked out aren't exactly what ended up being in my bouquet and flower crown. We also discussed the flowers being in a slightly cascading shape and that did not happen. They were still lovely and no one else knew what it should have looked like, but it wasn't my vision and it's a little frustrating that I didn't get to achieve it, even though I did pay for what was discussed. The second problem was that there weren't any pins for the boutonnieres delivered to our hotel room with the flowers. By the time we got to the venue and everyone realized that they had no way to pin the flowers on, there was nothing we could do. People tried to secure them in their jacket pockets, but of course it didn't work and it didn't look great. My husband lost his after the ceremony and so did my father. The money spent on them was basically wasted without having any pins to secure them with. Again, not a huge deal, but a bummer, and something I did pay for that didn't pan out. The small centerpieces that we had at the reception were beautiful. Jennifer was also beyond understanding and accommodating with our late return of the vases that we had rented. Despite the few issues, I would still recommend Pollen Floral Art. read more

When I decided to ditch my DIY ambitions for my wedding flowers 2 months before my wedding, I started doing some research and calling a few florists whose work I really admired. Since it was so close to my wedding date, many of them were already booked - but the one common referral from each florist I called was for me to call Brooke from Pollen Floral Art. Everyone told me - "Call Brooke from Pollen Floral Art, she is so sweet and talented". I called Brooke and the rest is history! She was truly amazing to work with. We sat down for an initial meeting where we went through some of the ideas that I had for what I wanted, my budget, and looked through her past work and also a Pinterest board I had put together. She was so knowledgeable on what the names of specific flowers I was showing her were. As I was waiting for her to put together a quote for all of the flowers in the days after our initial consultation I went to some other flower shops around Austin to see what their quotes would be. The two other places I went to meet with did not have the professionalism or wealth of knowledge that even came close to Brooke's. Even before they gave me their quotes, I made the conscious decision that I wanted to work with Brooke for my wedding. The quote came back from Brooke and it confirmed everything - she managed to fit everything into my budget - I don't know how she did it - especially because the flowers I requested were mostly spring flowers and my wedding was in November! I had so much confidence in her that I found some extra wiggle room in my budget and splurged on larger centerpieces. She made the whole process so easy and painless. We had our final consultation before the wedding to confirm the design and flower type details and I left the rest in her hands. I made some interesting requests that she also worked really hard to accommodate. I had wanted to surprise my husband with alter pieces that incorporated birch bark (it was a personal sentimental thing between he and I) - and she went out of her way to find birch bark and had some really great ideas of how to incorporate it into the arrangement. The day of the wedding came and the work that Brooke did really blew me away. The flowers were AMAZING - I couldn't have dreamed them up any better. All of the delivery and set up went seamlessly and I didn't have to worry about anything - Brooke and her husband even helped move the altar pieces from the ceremony site to the reception site - the altar pieces doubled as large centerpieces for our serving tables. So in conclusion to this ridiculously long review - if you're trying to find a florist for your wedding or any event - Call Brooke - she was truly wonderful to work with! read more

When I got engaged, the first thing I did was research florists (to me, floral arrangements are one of the best things to invest in for a wedding -- they add so much). The nice thing about shopping around for a florist is it's pretty much a visual decision at first. You look at some portfolio images, and hone in on what you like. I adore Pollen! I adore Brooke! Brooke did all of the flowers for my wedding last year. I met with her a couple of times and discussed my 'vision' with her. Her flower knowledge is endless. She was a great listener and after our conversation she emailed me images that brought to life what I had described to her. It was perfect! Brooke created my bouquet, flowers and flower baskets for 5 flower girls AND boutonnieres and corsages for the groom, 2 ring bearers and both sets of parents. All gorgeous! They were the perfect mix of succulents and 'simple' pretty flowers. The colors were soft greens and whites. I had shown her an image of a flower that had a little bit of purple in it - from that she added a flower to my bouquet that gave a bit of edge and excitement to it. I loved it! Our venue allowed for a wedding outside and a reception inside. It was somewhat rustic feeling. There was a simple wood arch for the wedding ceremony. Brooke enhanced the arch pulling from the colors we had discussed and the nature around us. The arch looked amazing! I received tons of compliments on it from guests and the wedding venue organizer. The wedding venue contracted out for the table flowers. I was worried that they wouldn't be as elegant as Brooke's arrangements. At the last minute, the wedding venue offered to hire my florist. Brooke was amazingly accommodating and made it work. The table flowers were a cluster of bud vases of a variety of sizes and flowers that matched the arch and the wedding party's flowers. On the day of the wedding, Brooke set up everything WELL before the guests were due to arrive. Absolutely worry free for me. Brooke is an incredible artist. Since my wedding, I have hired her to do a wedding shower and a few personal arrangements for people. I 100% cannot say enough about how amazing it was working with Brooke at Pollen Floral Art for my wedding (I just got married 4/6/13). I did a consultation with another florist first and the difference between the first and Pollen was night and day in terms of understanding my vision. I wanted something very bohemian, textural, and loose with warm pastel colors. I did not have specific flowers in mind but I had a general vision of how I wanted the arrangements to look. I relied very heavily on the flowers to create the atmosphere for my wedding (at the Ladybird Johnson Wildflower Center). I gave Brooke that direction and she INSTANTLY knew where to go. She showed me photos of different flowers and ideas and I knew right away that she would do an amazing job. She just GOT it where the other florist didn't. I got sooooo many compliments on the floral arrangements on the day of (and since then!). Some of my guests said it was the most beautiful wedding they had attended and I would attribute a great deal of that to the flowers. JUST STUNNING. I also knew that I wanted to wear a wreath of flowers on my head in place of a veil. Again, I wasn't exactly sure what flowers I wanted or how this would work, but I had a vision and she knew exactly what to do. I was a little worried that the flower wreath would look silly or TOO over the top, but she executed it BEAUTIFULLY. I felt like an absolute goddess wearing it. I loved it! (Now I just have to think of another occasion that it might be appropriate to wear a flower wreath, 'cause it rocked! hahaha) She was extremely nice, professional, and flexible throughout the planning process. Brooke is VERY prompt when responding to emails and questions. Any changes that we discussed, we did through email (because its easier for me. Not sure if this is how she always works with clients) and she always responded right away, unlike other vendors I worked with. Brooke is fabulous! I met with her and had no pictures, no references, just a vary vague concept for the whole wedding. She knew exactly what I wanted from that first meeting and executed it better than I could have imagined. We kept everything very clean and simple, so our flowers were really the only decoration at the ceremony and reception, and they looked effing beautiful. I was wowed every time I walked by them. We met with Brooke once after the initial consult, and even though we changed our minds a handful of times of where the ceremony would take place and what kind of arrangements we wanted, she was super patient and super helpful in offering her professional opinion. She also met us at the venue, no problem, so we could get a better idea of the big picture. She's super personable and easy to get along with, and even offered to clean up probably hundreds of loose rose petals after the reception (a rule instilled by our venue). After the reception, I wanted to keep a handful of the bouquets, but was too late in my request to my parents. So my parents tracked down Brooke's number, and ended up meeting her husband to get some of the flowers for my keepsakes. Oh wow. Where to even begin with so much awesomeness??? Pollen Floral Art did a superb job for my wedding this past April, and I would recommend them if you want a thorough and imaginative floral display for any event. We met with them and one another florist for consultations, and PFA knocked it out of the park immediately. Brooke and Jennifer are amazing, just unbelievably talented, and if you hire them you are in capable hands. Pollen did the flowers for our wedding, and even though I called them up a few months before the big day (after ditching DIY plans), they were able to fit us into their schedule. I had some pretty specific flower ideas in mind (colorful loose wildflower feel, more modern than traditional), and between a short meeting with Jennifer and a pinterest board of what I was envisioning, they were able to come up with something that was even better than I had imagined. We had our wedding in a garden setting, so we didn't do very much decorating, but those flowers made the venue feel warm, colorful, and happy (a challenge on a gray day where temperatures dipped into the 60's!). Jennifer was excellent at helping brainstorm ways to make the flower arrangements better fit our budget, which was really cool, since you can get a lot of side eye from folks when you mention a budget during wedding planning. I took a leap of faith and had them do a floral crown to wear on the wedding day instead of a veil, and I am SO glad I trusted them.
