But I do remember that I split entrees with another. We split the BBQ Brisket Melt and the Oklahoma Smashburger. We both prefer the BBQ Melt over the burger. It had more flavor and texture. It's always good food and service. And I'm sure we'll go again next year after our Annual Seminar.

If you don't like sitting in the sun , consider asking for a table instead or away from the windows. Food 5/5: we got the brussels sprouts and shrimp bowl. I loved the maple sauce with the goat cheese on the sprouts! It's definitely different than the soy type sauces other places are doing, and brought the perfect salty sweet combination. The shrimp bowl is my go to here, and was great. The sauce with the shrimp, avocado, veggies and rice is a great balance of flavor. Service 5/5: our server was very attentive and the food came quickly. Ambiance 5/5: this place has an upscale cozy vibe. It is on the smaller side, so tables are somewhat close, but not too close. Note the credit card charge.

He was kind when we asked for the favorites and he was very down to earth. The views were beautiful and you could watch the players while your business people talked their business. :D We tried some appetizers - duck fries (plain but fried in duck fat but they tasted like regular fries), sweet potato tots with a marshmallow sweet dipping sauce, and the artichoke dip which was delish. I'm pretty sure I ordered the best dish - the blackened salmon with mango salsa was a hit and came with a mashed potato little mountain and some lovely carrots and asparagus. Desserts were mid - chocolate cake was dry, crepe cake was different and unique and the jam was tart and good, the cookie and ice-cream was ok - cookie was super hard and not warmed. I would definitely come back to try more of the main dishes and other appetizers. PS The older gentleman golf employee outside was the hardest worker ever!! He was going all night and doing all the things. Give that man a raise!

My partner and I were visiting from Chicago and their parents wanted to try out the new Ecuadorian place in the neighborhood. We were pleasantly surprised! Two of us got the Pollo a la Plancha, one got the Panang Curry, and the other got the chicken skewers. The chicken was very planchada (haha) but still delicious. They were out of their yucca frita, which we were sad about, but they gave us a side of plantains when we asked. The Panang Curry was surprisingly amazing - we were wondering if one of the chef's from the old restaurant that used to be here was working because it tasted so good. Check them out and support this new business!

I love a place that actually adds enough sauce so you don't have to reach for ketchup. Fries were crispy, beer on tap was cold and fresh, and my partner's Breakfast Burger with a perfectly runny over-easy egg was spot on. The whole vibe is cozy, laid-back, and exactly what you want from a classic neighborhood dive. There's easy residential street parking nearby, which makes it even better. Definitely come during off-hours if you want to snag a seat, it's popular for a reason. Bonus: it was easily $20-$30 cheaper than any other sit-down meal we've had around here. Perfect dive bar, no notes. Seat yourself. Friendly service.

I looked up…read moreyour website and FB page, and discovered you offer an affordable fish and shrimp basket on Friday's. So sis and I took a drive to our hometown to give it a try. Found off-street parking in a neighborhood close by. We are early birds but we got the last available booth/ table at 5pm. It's a small place so it's maybe 4 booths, 5 tables, 1 hightop and the bar for seating. It is seat yourself. The "kitchen" is also to the side of the bar (like Matt's Bar in MPLS) so you can watch them cook if you had a good seat. There was a "band" (2 people) setting up for live music to begin at 6pm. We had left prior to them starting though. Even thought it was packed, we had plenty of attention from all the staff: waitress, bartender and COOK. Waittress to our order, bartender delivered our drinks, cook verified our order (small vs large onion rings). We splint an order of onion rings. They were battered, not breaded! We prefer battered. They were slightly sweet, crunchy and hot. No dipping sauce offered besides bottled ketchup. Sis got the $11 fish basket with $1.50 lemonade. A dollar fifty for lemonade!! I tried the tartar sauce and liked it. Had a hint of dill. I got the $11 shrimp basket. The shrimp were breaded. Hot and crunchy. No tartar sauce for dipping. They were good but didn't really taste the shrimp, just the breading. I'm not a coleslaw fan but sis said it was good/fine. She couldn't describe the flavor, just that it wasn't Marzetti's (less flavor, no zip). I also ordered a McKenzie's Black Cherry cider. That's hard to find in a bar. It was cold and tart and delicious. Mmm. And only $4.50. Overall, the place was clean, the service was great, the food was good, the prices were awesome. We will definitely be back to try out more of the menu (aka Tony's Firecracker burger). Love supporting small businesses in our local neighborhoods.

We came for an anniversary dinner and chose to be seated at the bar that overlooked the kitchen. I know I've said before, but I love this look into the kitchen, watching everything being cooked, seeing all the orders, it's just so fun. We started with cocktails and the Silesian dumplings. Both were excellent. Hubs got the duck two ways and I got the duck burger for our meals. I told him we couldn't go to a place that specializes in duck and not get duck. Both dishes were perfect. The duck confit sauce was delicious and the burger was out of this world. We couldn't turn down a couple of paczeks for dessert too. Service was great and sitting next to the kitchen, got to talk to some of the cooks as well. Overall, great experience at Black Duck.

The exterior is a little unassuming with the patio kind of looks like a family style restaurant but inside it's upscale dark and gold modern chic. THE FOOD Pierogis - 5/5 so pillowy Doused in a butter sauce, delicious potato goodness. A little steep for $19 for 4 pieces, but definitely a highlight of the night. Silesian pierogis - 5/5 the Parmesan leek sauce was a great compliment to the almost mochi, textured potato dumplings. Definitely different than the normal pierogies, but in my opinion, the sauce really stood out for this dish and was well balanced with the pickled cabbage. Pork dish 4/5 - the pork was cooked PERFECTLY, nice char on the outside with a juicy inside, not dry by any means. The sauerkraut plus the mustard sauce was a perfect bite. However, I do feel the mustard sauce is quite overpowering at times so if you don't like mustard do not get this. It does look like a large portion, but I did eat all of it with a little bit of help. I do wish there was some sort of starch on the plate, but better portioning the most pork chops restaurants that I have had. Flat iron steak 3/5 - I was most looking forward to this one after seeing it on Instagram however, the dish somewhat fell short for $40. The steak was cooked beautifully, and the potato pavee was exciting since this is quite rare where to find in the Twin Cities restaurant scene. There was not much sauce on this dish. The small bit of sauce provided, being quite buttery and did not add much to the flavor. The potato pavees were very crispy and a nice inside texture but for me a little bit oversalted, but there was just nowhere to go in the dish for sauce/punchy flavor. I wish there was an aioli/chimichurri to go with the potato pavee and some other type of seasoning like a Mexican seasoning on the potatoes. It's seems the entrees were not very vegetable forward however I feel like for $40 the pork and the steak could have used maybe a few pieces of brussels sprouts or asparagus to balance out their richness. Overall, a very lovely experience. I feel like anything on their menu is worth a try. The waitress mentioned that they do have rotating seasonal items. You won't be disappointed!

When I go to new cities, I typically seek out food that is specific to the region and thus a little more interesting to me. You can get a burger anywhere, and a cheese filled patty, aka a "Juicy Lucy", didn't sound like something I needed to try. But my husband kept talking about it and really seemed bent on having one so we decided to come here to try it out. We showed up during their happy hour, from 4-5pm, and they had $5 draft beers. Score! It's a cute place with ample seating, nice natural light from the large windows, and a relaxed atmosphere. I ordered the Juicy Lucy, a burger patty stuffed with cheese and topped with lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles, and pub sauce. I chose the Impossible patty version, but you can also get it with their house made black bean burger. Hubby chose the Garlic Girl, a black bean cheeseburger topped with bacon (also made in-house), berbere aioli, lettuce, and pickled onion. Each burger came with fries. Both burgers were spectacular and delicious in their own way. The bacon on hubby's burger was incredible, and his burger was rich and satisfying. By my Juicy Lucy, oh my... Every bite was a flavor explosion and intensely delicious without being a gut bomb shockingly. To top it off, the fries were super crispy and just perfect. WOW is all I can say. Note that while the prices may seem a little higher than what you might expect, Francis Burger is a no tipping establishment, as stated on their menu. For the quality of the food and the great service, it was well worth the price! I'll be back if I'm ever in this area again.f
