Major Safety Violation - Customers Locked Inside…read more My two friends and I had a deeply unsettling experience at this location on Friday, 3/20. We were dining 30 minutes before the 9:00 PM closing time when the staff locked the front doors. We did not realize we were trapped until we tried to leave at 9:02 PM and found the doors dead-locked. All three employees had moved to the back of the restaurant, leaving us alone in the front with no way to exit the building. We had to wait for an employee to eventually come out and unlock the door to let us out. Being physically confined in a building against our will was a terrifying experience that felt immediately threatening. We did not feel safe again until we were finally out of the building and in the safety of our car. Locking customers in is a major fire code violation and a massive failure in management. We have reported this to the Elizabeth Fire Marshal and Teriyaki Madness Corporate. We will not be returning.
