I decided to try this local place for lunch. The photos on Yelp looked good. Located in the Cherry Street area of Elizabeth. Mainly residential area. Place has one driveway for parking. Otherwise it is street parking. Unless you are coming when people are at school/work- the. You probably will have some difficulty finding parking close. Dining area has ample tables. I could see how this could be feel cramped if a lot of people were dining at one time. Otherwise I had no problem since it was just me and few others. My waiter was very friendly and attentive. I was hoping to see a lunch special menu but I didn't. Menu was a basic menu. I should have asked if there was a lunch menu. So I tried the Leche de Tigre appetizer which was VERY tasty. Wish I had a lil more ceviche or maybe tostones to put drip in. It came with choclo (Peruvian corn) and sweet potato slices on side. Then I ended up trying the Lomo Saltado. I don't usually get Lomo Saltado when I go to Peruvian places but for some reason I tried it this time. They served it wth a pleasant presentation. The only thing I wish was different was that they didn't mix the French fries in with the mixture because it makes it soggy. I've seen photos with it mixed and not mixed. Bottom line - it wasn't my favorite . I should have tried the Arroz Chaufa ( fried rice) Waiter told me that there is live music on friday nights. Honestly- the prices are expensive for the location. We both liked the spicy green-cilantro sauce the most. Had the quarter chicken and bistec a lo pobre. Both were tasty. As soon as you walk in you are greeted by some lovey ladies! So far I've tried the patasca(hearty beef sew), Anticucho (Beef heart) and desert picarones(Peruvian donut that you have with maple syrup). Both were absolutely delicious! If you know Peruvian food, you know that these are authentic dishes and this restaurant really knows what they are doing! I really recommend patasca if you're looking for a great hearty soup/stew!! I came here for dinner with my fiance and her brother. It's located near houses so parking is limited especially during the winter time when people save their parking spot with buckets of chairs. The area is not as dangerous as other Peruvian restaurants I've been too. Didn't have the feeling I would get jumped here. The waiter greeted us in English as we entered. He quickly got our drink order in. We got the chicha (sweet purple corn drink), coke and water. We ordered a lto fo food. We started with the anticucho (grilled marinated cow heart), yuca with haceuchlla sauce, the bistec a pobre, bistec a macho, and I got the seafood soup. Overall, the quality is good and the portion size is above average. I probably wouldn't come out of my way to dine here again unless I was nearby. Thank you Yelp for suggesting this little gem. The restaurant is tucked away in a residential area. I picked up a lunch special that included fried fish, rice, Peruvian potato, salad, soup and an inca cola. It was huge portion and only cost $8 plus $1 tip. They included napkins, utensils, and sauces without me asking for them. Also included was a jelly dessert that I've never had before but tasted very good! The food was delicious and the service was quick and friendly. I will definitely come back here again. One star deducted because there is no parking, only tight driveway on side and the only entrance is not handicap friendly as it has 5 stairs going up. I would without a doubt come here again! This place has a trendy and upbeat atmosphere, and really tasty rotisserie chicken. The Peruvian green sauce was a tad heavy on the mint and bit salty, but still delicious. My fiancé and I ordered a whole chicken with rice and fries. We also ordered a guacamole side salad, which came with standard ranch dressing, and a side of white beans (the only type they had). The chicken was fresh and the rub was delicious. The fries were so good. They were fresh, hot and crunchy. The rice was a bit cold but worked well with the beans and green sauce. The beans were seasoned really well. They also serve Mexican Coca Cola, which I love. The service was really good. The prices were supper affordable. Everything we ordered came to about $25. I ordered take-out once (chaufa Pollo) & I wasn't pleased at all . The chicken was very over cooked . HOWEVER , I decided to stop by in for dine-in cause I love peruvian . Stopped in for lunch , brought a bottle of tequila , because me and my friends are obviously degenerates . We started with the shrimp ceviche and the potatoes with the yellow sauce . Both were great but the ceviche was realllly good . For dinner I had the lomo which was good as well . I'm glad I gave it another shot because I will be back . We ordered the pollo saltado and tallarín a la huancaina, the food turned out to be really good and the ambiance was great. The music playing was Spanish rock and they usually have a Friday night acoustic session, however some musician showed up today (sat) and stared jamming some good Spanish rock. They also have some specials every day of the week, the mentioned their Facebook page to get the deals and specials, seems like a great place to have good, affordable Peruvian food. Ok I like giving honest reviews but sometimes I hate that there aren't 1/2 stars. I'm giving this place 4 stars because I felt that 3 stars wasn't that fair either. I came here with my family after reading the good google reviews. We were a party of five. Roasted chicken w to stones and rice: pretty good Lomo salteado: the rice was great (best I've tried and I've been to a lot of Peruvian restaurants), French fries (AWESOME!!!) I would be incredible surprised if I'm wrong but to me the fries were freshly made, not frozen.. thumbs up for that, I'm Chilean and I have yet to find a Chilean restaurant that actually serves fresh fries, they make a world of a difference. The steak in the lomo salteado, seemed to me that it wasn't actually lomo steak because it was quite tough. The Jalea: I didn't try it but those who did (3 persons) answered the following: "it was ok, I give it 3/5 stars" " did not like it, I've had better" "It's ok" The Salchipapas: very good The anticuchos: very good!, loved the seasoning. The leche de tigre: it was good but I've had better. The portions are HUGE, the personal jalea and lomo salteado can easily be shared between two persons. I eat the lomo salteado and wasn't able to finish it all. The prices are very reasonable. They are BYOB and as a clarification (we missunderstood the info on their website), if you bring your own pisco, they will prepare it for you for $10 bucks ... The problem with this place is that my boyfriend wanted ceviche he orders it and the waitress comes back saying they don't have, we said okay let's do bistec a lo pobre, she comes back and says they don't have any type of meat or fish. Yum! I've been on a Peruvian food kick lately and Sudaka certainly makes the list of yummy places to eat. What we had: Papas a la huancaina: Yum! This version had a little kick to it which was nice. The potatoes were cooked well. Would definitely get this again Rotisserie chicken- I didn't order this but o had a bite and it was good when dipped in the spicy green sauce or the huancaina sauce. Bistek a la Macho- The steak was really good in the sauce. I didn't care for the calamari rings as they were a little rubbery. The shrimp was good and the sauce was to die for. Service was really slow as there was only one server for the entire restaurant. I waited for over 30 minutes for my entree after my friend got hers. I told the waitress to cancel it if it was forgotten and she said it wasn't but it still took another 10 minutes for it to come out. If they forgot then I would have appreciated an honest answer instead of having to wait even more. The dish was so good that it was worth the wait but it was a little awkward with my friend having her food first for so long. 5 stars for food, 3 stars for the service and wait. P.S. Since i tried Peruvian rotisserie chicken a few years ago in Ny. I have fallen in love with this dish, chicken with salad and fries and magical Peruvian green sauce. I have probably visited so many Peruvian restaurants all around but this one was a BIG mistake. So turned off already. Reviews were good so we went in, not realizing that all the good reviews and stars were from when their was some other chef working in this place. We placed our usual order which turned out to be a huge disappointment, chicken skin was burnt, fries saggy, green sauce not even close to what it's supposed to be. We couldn't even eat half of our food and asked for the box to take out, and when i asked for green sauce, i was told they ran out of it already. Mind you! It was 7pm and restaurant hours were will 10pm . Were they being cheap? Did they really run out at 7pm? Idk but our experience was a disaster, worst one with Peruvian restaurants so far.
