I sort of stumbled across Tacos à la Madre today and am very happy I did!…read more First, this is an order first then sit down or take out kind of place. The staff were nice and helpful, and are bilingual in English and Spanish. Ordering was straightforward and it took 15-20 min for food to come out. There are tables inside and a few picnic tables outside. The tacos were packed well and tasted delicious (ate it fresh, not sure how it would hold up as take out). I find it hard to find places with multiple well made and authentic vegetarian tacos, but this place had plenty of options! I got: Taco de Calabacín (Grilled Zucchini) - not bad, a maybe a little heavier that I would use on the black pepper Taco de Chorizo Vegano (Vegan Chorizo) - very nice Taco de Nopal (Grilled Cactus) - prob my fave All were well seasoned, and had a decent amount of tomato, onion, cilantro, and they came with lime wedges and radish slices. The taco shells are two soft corn tacos with semi crispy edges. I would come back to try their other veggie tacos (they also had mushroom and cauliflower). I also tried the Elote Callejero (Street Corn) in a cup which has cheese and tajin. Creamy! Better fresh than when I tried it later at home. It was good but for me the tacos are really what shined here. Giving 4.5/5 stars. Very good.

The menu is pretty straight forward from tacos, burritos and the like with various proteins. We tried chipotle chicken, crab cake, shrimp, and beef. I believe we got a 15 pack which only allows the option to get up to three proteins (five of each). I enjoyed all the tacos! They were super fresh and all of the meats were seasoned to perfection. The salsa that came with it was just the right spice and added to the flavors. I think my favorite were the shrimp and chicken. My family loved it so much that we went back the next day and got another 15! Please double check your orders before leaving as we were short a taco, it's kind of a bummer, to miss out.

It's a hole in the wall! But hole in the walls are sometimes gems! I was the only female customer at 6ish. Quite a few men in the restaurant. The ladies working there are super nice, and attentive. Let's Get Into It! Cheese Enchilada - Met expectations. The chili sauce is not spicy and they made that enchilada cheesy! Fajitas- Met expectations. I have had better fajitas honestly but these weren't bad. Price point: Very Inexpensive for the amount of food! Overall, the place is decent. It has a El Salvadoran menu and Mexican menu, which for me I'm not a fan of. The Mexican dishes were okay but their tortillas were more thick and El Salvadoran style. I wouldn't return as the food was just okay for my liking. There were loud men singing at the top of their lungs like they were on the Latin Voice and that was off putting. I get it, they are having fun, but it wasn't karaoke night and was disturbing. I left after two songs of the man singing, thankfully I was already done. Definitely worth a try though for others.

This…read morecan be a dream if you wanted to mix menus and create a meal that some might think would be a nightmare. It can actually be a place where people might go if you aren't exactly sure what you might want. When I showed up here I saw the length of the drive thru line and decided that I was going to try my luck inside. Well...one reviewer stated that this is the 'slowest drive-thru I've ever seen.' They obviously didn't go inside. I went inside and noticed they were busy with the drive thru, so I took that as it would give me some time to look over the menu to make some interesting matches for my food. In hindsight, I should have just gotten into the drive thru line as I was completely ignored inside. Even though I was in complete view of the employees, they ignored me and continued on with the orders piling up from the drive thru. As I stood there waiting for some sort of acknowledgement, I was approached by a guy that came from out of nowhere who gave me a guilt trip to either give him some money or food. I declined and finally decided to leave the inside of the restaurant to try my luck at the drive thru. As I was backing out of my spot to head to the drive thru, the guy that approached me inside came outside and tried to get me to go back inside. I guess that means they finally came over to acknowledge the counter. At this point, I can concur that this is the slowest drive thru. It took me forever to even reach the kiosk. Then it took time for them to even take my order. Then it took longer to get to the window to pay and get my food. Overall, the food was put together haphazardly. I've seen toddlers put together food cleaner than what I got here. Was it worth the hassle/wait? No. Will I come here again and give it another try? Again, no.

That's pretty reasonable. Every dish was well prepared and nicely flavored. No mushy vegetables here. Yucca fries: not greasy, nice and crispy. Good with any of their dipping sauces. Fried rice: very tasty dish with hints of chicken. Black beans, really tender and nicely flavored. Broccoli: super delicious super food, done perfectly, not mushy and just the right amount of crunch. Green beans: such an easy dish and they nailed it. Plantains: who doesn't like a good fried plantain? These were awesome! And the cookie is a sweet deal too. Go for it. I wasn't surprised to see a large number of to go orders at their pick up desk. The word is out on how great their food is here. Plenty of parking in their private lot on Baltimore road.

The guy who preps the chicken didn't hear me? Giving me only one half chicken white. Manager fixed things but it did mess up their process a bit. I had to make sure I got the correct second meal. The chicken was great. Moist just the way we like it. The string beans were not cooked properly even though they looked good. This happens too often. The sauces. First, we just don't get enough sauces as part of the meal. Second, I was making sure I got enough sauces this time and ordered my usual types. Apparently, yellow sauce is now considered to be honey mustard. I did get some of the great tasting amerillo sauce but also got honey mustard which elsewhere is usually just fine. This honey mustard is awful. Trying to be like everyone else is not what made Sardis a success. If you must have honey mustard sauce go get a batch from McDonalds or some other fast food in the area. It will taste better. Was not happy with this visit. Given how high the prices have gotten Sardis can't afford to go down hill any further. I'm sure I'll go back sometime. Hoping things get better. Three stars cause the chicken was great.
