The staff are typically really nice and efficient at getting you your order in a timely manner and more importantly just how you ordered it (this seems to be a problem for some other establishments). The portion sizes are pretty decent for one person and are almost always consistent in taste. For about 7 bucks, it was a deal because it also included cheese, average guac, sour cream, tomatoes, lettuce and 3 tortillas. The salsa area also was the bomb. Guava BBQ sauce and cilantro garlic white sauce are both legendary and yellow rice and veggies and black beans rounded out a very healthy meal on a random walk around Boynton. I frequent this location regularly due to only being 5 minutes away from where I live. The wait times vary which is understandable due to it being a busy location so whenever I visit I mentally prepare for a wait in the drive thru. I felt compelled to write this review because tonight I went thru the drive thru I waited for roughly 20-30 minutes between roughly 7:30-8:15 which was not a big deal. My issue is that once I was able to get to the window to pay and receive order the rep at the window was very short - I told her when she took my card that the total seemed off by a dollar or so which is not a big deal but when I received bag it confirmed that I paid for the wrong order and the food was not my order. I took the bag and while the window was open I told her it does not look my order. She then proceeded to close the door in my face without seeing what I needed then walked out of sight for 2-3 minutes im assuming to see if I'd drive away but I didnt. She walked back over and saw I was holding the bag and was waiting. she opened the window seeming annoyed I was still there but I explained to her that I was trying to speak to her before she walked away that the order is incorrect. She walked away to get my order and gave to me without any apology for the blatant rude and disrespectful behavior from before. I was pleasantly surprised by the menu and the food here. I had no idea what they served and was surprised and overwhelmed by the menu. Frankly, I had no clue what to order. I ended up getting the chicken quesadillas that had a tangy chipotle sauce, it was excellent along with the waffle fries which you don't see many places carry (I think because they get too cold too fast). You need to teach your cashier Lovenson about customer service. From the moment we approached him when it was our turn he was far from friendly and in fact, being short altogether. It made the whole ordering process uncomfortable. I am not sure if he was trying to be a thug to us since we're other guys but definitely undeserving a customer service position. Perhaps he'd be better as a cook or meal preparer behind the counter where he won't make contact with customers. To add insult to injury, after we paid, he just gave us the receipt without saying a single word. Nope, not a simple THANK YOU, a smile or anything that would make us want to return in the future. Wow, this is one of the most poorly managed Pollo Tropical I've ever encountered. Stopped by here on our way back to Orlando from Fort Lauderdale. Ordered the pinchos (chicken skewers) with rice and tomatoes. Ordering was quick and easy enough. The wait for food though was horrendous. The manager was yelling at the cook the entire time in front of everyone...not cool. The cook, along with the rest of the staff, acted like they couldn't care less about being there. Never knew this Pollo existed, I think the only reason it escaped me was because it's not exactly in my neck of the woods. After the not-so-wonderful Campero experience I googled on my blackberry for any nearby Pollo Tropical and voir loir! An oasis of grilled perfection... This seems to be a smaller restaurant but it is fairly new so it's got the big mac daddy salsa bar! I had chicken and ribs and had the mustard curry salsa with the chicken and the guava barbecue salsa with the ribs. Corn was great, and the bread was fresh and fluffy.
