Leche De Tigre
Wendy B.

We came here due to Yelp reviews We started with the Leche de Tigre. My husband loved it. I thought it was a bit too chewy / sinewy. I ordered the steak dish and hubby got the fish dish duo. The steak dish was topped with a "chorillana" sauce which was a reddish brown save that was tasty and topped with tomatoes and onions and on the side was a HUGE crispy rice and bean patty. It was delicious. My husband got the sliced fish. The plate looks a bit deceiving but the whole bottom of the plate was covered in a filet of raw Fish cured in lime juice with Peruvian corn and sweet potatoes. If you are very hungry, do not get the fish dish because it's not enough for a hungry man lol. I gave him half of my steak dish because it was too much. Not being Peruvian I didn't know any of the dishes and I asked the waitress if she could give me her favorite or some suggestions, but she didn't speak English and just shrugged her shoulders a bit of insight on native tastes would have been helpful. I had to go ask for a pen to sign the check and the bar area stunk of moth balls!!

Yum yum yum!!! Place is tiny and quant, hidden in a shopping plaza. Lots of available parking. Service is great! Food is just as great! I ordered the Lomo Saltado, skirt steak was cooked perfectly and the flavors were ah-mazing!

This was the first time eating at Victoria's and we couldn't have been more impressed. The ceviche was hands down THE best we've ever had! Also, the fried calamari was absolutely delicious! My husband had the lamb with rice and beans, cooked to perfection. and I enjoyed my fried fish topped with see food and fried potatoes. We'll be back soon:)

As I ran some errands in the neighborhood, I decided to drop into Victoria's. I'm glad I did! It is located at the south corner at Federal Hwy and 3rd street in Lantana near the Post Office. Definitely a little hole in the wall place but worth visiting. At first I was a bit put off by the fact that there were no menu boards or menus to look at. A large QR code for the menu is posted next to the ordering area. Of course, my phone wouldn't let me pull up the menu. The gentleman behind the counter asked me what I would like. I love chicken, rice, black beans, and plantains so I asked for that. He told me it would take 15 minutes but I had my order in less than 5 minutes. The dining area was about 1/3 full of other patrons enjoying their lunches. Everything looked clean. Even though the dining area is small, there's space between the tables and it's nicely lit by the sun in the daytime. My lunch was still warm when I arrived home about 15 minutes later. The black beans and rice were excellent as were the plantains. The chicken portion was a little small but it was nicely seasoned and tender. Looking forward to returning to Victoria's for some delicious food and pleasant service!

Ceviche De Pescado & Papa a La Huancaina

Victoria's never disappoints. Even when we visited Peru, my family kept comparing it to Victoria's because it's SO good. Been going here since I was a kid! Now I take my husband and he loves their Lamb Stew. Our server recommended the Tallarines a Ia Huancaina Con Bistec with lomo saltado style steak and WOW! What a game changer. That is my new go to dish!

Food was beyond exceptional. We got sat right away and food came out fast, hot and fresh! We left satisfied and with Plenty of leftovers.

I've been wanting to check out Victoria's Peruvian Cuisine for such a long time! I had noticed it before in a little old railroad-front shopping plaza in Lantana. I recently ate at a Peruvian restaurant when traveling, so I was already kind of familiar with some of the menu items. The ambience inside was peaceful yet elegant. Lots of customers came through the doors, all greeted sweetly by the staff. As usual I could not decide what to order! Ceviche? The cilantro short rib? I decided to try the tiradito de aji amarillo: thinly sliced fish cooked in lime juice and covered with a yellow pepper cream sauce. The other tiradito featured a red pepper cream sauce, which is much hotter spice-wise. The plate was so pretty! A beautifully yellow sauce hid the pieces of fish, while the sweet potato and corn complimented everything so well. The sauce was delicious. I found the slices of fish a bit too large and pretty awkward to cut. My date and I shared the yuca a la huancaina, which was fried yucca, apparently with that same yellow pepper sauce. it was good, but not good enough to finish. We took home some alfajores, a cookie with caramel inside; yum!

Fried Yuca a La Huancaina, a must!!!

Occasion: Big Sis/Lil Sis Dinner Date PARKING: FREE onsite parking. Location & Ambiance: 10/10 Very cute, clean, homey, and welcoming. Service: 9.5/10 At first there was a bit of a language barrier with the hostess but that doesn't matter and after all this is a Peruvian restaurant so please don't be a Karen and get upset if the restaurant isn't gentrified. If you decide to eat here, remember that food knows NO language. And if you're having difficulty communicating then just pull out your google translate. It's that simple. We were able to get seated and served by an amazing server. Very attentive and cheerful. My little sister & I were actually looked after by two individuals. They were both knowledgeable of the menu. Food: 10/10 The food was AMAZINGGGGGG!!! Loved every bite of it!!! The cheese sauce with the fried yuca, my goodness!! Overall: 9.8/10 Stamped & Approved! Support your local ethnic restaurants!!!!

The slaw also looked less than appealing- it seemed like a different combo than I am used to here- but also just looked old. On the upside, my son loved trying his first pupusa (without slaw). Service was wonderful, and I love supporting local businesses. I can see from my previous photos that the plates were ceramic. Maybe it was an off night?

After reading an updated review from Sr. CM West Palm, Melodie M, we just had to come here for…read morelunch to try their pupusas while in the area. In fact, I'd never had a pupusa when some time back I read another review from Melodie and decided to try them. We found a Pompano Beach restaurant near our other residence that we frequent with Salvadorean food and have now visited often. When we came in, I guess they could tell we were "gringos", so they switched servers to one with better English. But we usually can get by with our school Spanish okay. Most people dining here were Spanish speaking, but you should be comfortable if you don't know the language. My husband decided to have a pupusa with beef and cheese along with a salad. The salad came out first. It was a plate of lettuce with tomatoes and cucumbers and some ranch dressing. His pupusa came with coleslaw. And they put a container of thin red sauce on the table for us to share. He said he thought the pupusa was good. He also got a passion fruit drink, medium size, to have with his meal. I had to try the "squash flower" one (per Melodie's review) so I ordered the loroco pupusa. I looked this up to see what these flower buds looked like. As mentioned online, this unique green vegetable was a bit crunchy and reminded me of a broccoli stalk or asparagus spear. But it is unique to El Salvador and used in Salvadorean cooking in many different ways. There was more cheese than loroco in the pupusa. It was fine. I'm glad I tried it. But I also ordered a "mixed" pupusa (revueltas) of pork, beans, and cheese and this one was the better tasting of the two, I thought. Of course, I put the slaw on top of the pupusa and sauce on top of that (as I'd learned from Melodie) and that really makes the whole experience in one delicious bite. I didn't realize how large the pupusas would be, so I'd also ordered a coctail de camarones. Not to be confused with an American shrimp cocktail, I'd had these when they've been made like shrimp ceviche or like the one I had here. The cooked shrimp was mixed in a remoulade dressing (mayo based) and topped with pico de gallo and avocado pieces. It was very good. It was served in a sundae glass. And came with a package of crackers, as well. Now that we've come here to try their pupusas, I'd also like to try one of their signature soups and other meal specials. Prices are quite reasonable. Please note: This isn't fast food as everything is cooked to order, so just be prepared if you're really hungry for a short wait.

It had been a while since I had the baked scallops and shrimp but it was just as delicious as the first time. We then ordered our entree from the lunch menu - pescado al ajo with salad. First, you truly feel like you are in South America with a laid-back, no hurry, ambience. If you are coming here expecting to get great fast service go somewhere else. We were standing at the hostess station 15 minutes before somebody actually came and asked if we wanted to be seated. Our waiter was harassed, but did his best. We barely saw him during our meal. But I did not take a star off because again, this is a Spanish place run by and for the Hispanic community. You truly feel like you are in Peru or some Spanish town where to spend hours eating is the norm. Our party of four were the only non-Hispanics in the restaurant. Which is a shame because the food is very tasty. Huge portions. And extremely reasonable prices for everything. Two of us had a cocktail - the Inca Pisco. They do not shirk on the liquor and I only needed one to be very very drunk!! We started with the ceviche and fried yucca with special Peruvian sauce (huancaina). I'm not a big fan of raw fish whether it's sushi or ceviche, but Victoria's does an amazing job and you can really taste the different flavors of the lime and the cilantro. For $10 we got a huge glass packed full of the ceviche. It easily fed four of us. One suggestion I would make to the restaurant is to maybe give crackers with the ceviche The fried yucca with the special sauce was also very tasty. You have a choice of fried yucca or boiled potatoes. This is a very traditional Peruvian dish using the special Aji Amarillo pepper. I had the lamb stew, my husband had the traditional dish of Lomo Saltado, one of our party the seafood soup and another had the quinoa seafood. The Loma Salado was a big hit with my husband. This is a stirfry with the Chinese influence on Peru, but not a Chinese stirfry but with Peruvian spices. He loved it. My Lamb Stew was very aromatic and tasty although it was not really a stew, but a lamb shank. The shank was not fall off the bone, but still good. Another hour slow cooking would have made it perfect. The seafood soup had so many chunks of seafood in it that it was mostly seafood with some soup on top. Our party that got this entrée was so amazed that they could put so much seafood and shellfish in the soup. He could only eat half of it. The party that had the quinoa seafood dish raved about it as well. None of us could finish our meals because they just give so much food here. And the prices are extremely reasonable. This restaurant is obviously feeding Hispanic people that don't have tons of money to waste on restaurants that give you microscopic portions and charge you an obscene amount of money. This place was full of happy families enjoying a dinner out. Many of them were celebrating Mother's Day early. This restaurant is a gem in downtown Lake Worth. Having lived here for the last 35 years I cannot believe we never ate here until last night. But we shall return. Probably many times.
