I am a Pollo Tropical fan!!! It is by far THE best fast food ever invented and it is downright delicious! I love everything on the menu and would recommend the tropi chops, chicken quesadilla wrap, and any of the chicken platters. All of the sides are great... especially rice, beans, maduros, yuca and waffle fries! I am pretty bummed that they don't serve tostones anymore. This location is just as good as any other. The staff were friendly and the wait time was about 5 minutes, but I'll wait 5 minutes anytime for Pollo Tropical! :-) read more

I'm not sure just yet, but I think this PT is charging my card twice. Shows 2 charges on my bank statements. Not to mention 80 percent of the workers don't really care. Horrible customer service. They don't say have a nice day, thank you for eating at PT, they just give your food and walk away. Costumer service is dreadful especially after 5 pm. During 8-11 pm these ''employees' work like graveyard workers. Plus 40 to 20 minutes before closing time they only serve half of the food portion in a tropichop. I typically go to pollo tropical but it's my first and last time at this one in Homestead, they serve drinks with no Ice then say they ran out of ice. No alternative options. Not even cold water. Portion sizes for some reason are smaller than any other pollo tropical. read more

Though unsure by the ratings, we decided to try the drive through. This is the first time we tried this restaurant and it was actually a very pleasant surprise. Service similar to Chik-fil-A in that there is a person by the order microphone to assist when ordering. The meal selection was awesome and the food was delicious! Ordered the bowls and wraps and was thoroughly delighted with the taste of all choices. Will certainly always consider when traveling and eating on the run! read more

As far as fast food goes and traveling on a budget Pollo Tropical blows the socks off The other run of the mill Fast Food joints. This unique Caribbean style chicken and rib place is pretty tasty for the price. So much so we found ourselves eating here twice. I really enjoyed the Caribbean ribs as well as the black beans both were packed with flavor. I very much enjoyed their sauce bar with about 6 different sauces to choose from. But the standout to me oddly enough is the Sweet Mango Iced Tea. So simple and so delicious. Overall if your looking for a cheap alternative for a decent fast food style meal this would be my choice in this area of South Florida. read more

It is nice that pollo tropical is willing to give healthcare workers a discount with everything going on right now, but they are not a safe place to take food home from. As I walked in to place an order, majority of employees are wearing a mask below their nose (incorrectly) Only 2 of the 7 or 8 employees were wearing their mask correctly. I walked out because I do not feel safe that my food could be contaminated with their nasal secretions. read more

These guys are great and work really fast. During times theres really long lines but they never get my order wrong and handle it all quickly. They never get my order wrong and always give me extra sauces when i ask. The guys that usually work the drive through always say hello and never just give you your food like robots. read more

We love the chicken and mojo pork! We love the yuca and balsamic tomatoes! There should be a better system for people asking for "water" cups. They aren't getting water, they're stealing soda!! Let me start by saying, I am not a big fan of pollo tropical. I actually just don't like it. However, it is a big step up from the other local mystery meat having fast food places that are around, which is why I am here so often. It's a great option for those of us who don't cook much but still want to have a regular meal. Always packed and the drive thru is always packed as well. Staff always seems overwhelmed and at times rude. If you go thru the drive thru and wait sometimes 30 minutes (counting from when you got in the line until you finally leave) you might have to get down because they either forgot something or didn't have sauce to give you thru the window. What was the point of going thru the the DRIVE THRU then?? Inside they usually have a lady going around constantlly filling the sauce bar and cleaning off the tables which is nice to see. read more

This used to be my go-to for dinner for YEARS. Unfortunately, the level of service has truly gone down since they've either gotten rid of the people that have worked there for a long time, or I'm just going at terrible times. I gave 1 star to this restaurant for various reasons. Number 1, I can't believe that a chicken restaurant ran out of their main ingredient (chicken) at 8:30 pm. Number 2, their cashiers are kind of rude. They should listen more to customers when getting orders and also they should learn how and when to use the word "Thank You". This is called "courtesy" and it's part of the customer service. Number 3, cleaning, even when 1 or 2 employees are doing their best to keep the restaurant clean they are other that are chatting with their friends. My compliments to an employee by the name of Raquel. Looks like she knows that keeping the restaurant clean helps any business to look good. My respects for her. what i see is a lack of team work and poor management. Hope the chain owner correct these problems or they will be loosing some business. This location is in a busy, lower income area and is always crowded. Combine that with a general lack of English as well as greedy consumers attempting to get over, and it turns into a recipe for disaster. I typically only visit Pollo locations in the suburbs (demographic of $50k/yr and up, preferably north of Miami-Dade county) because the standards are in line with the Pollo Tropical vision we've grown to love and most other business establishments. The sign in the restroom says they pride their restrooms as much as their food. I disagree. I shouldn't have to step over vomit to use the toilet. And as far as the food goes, the chicken was dry and overcooked. The brown rice was hard. The person (possibly a member of management with a blurred name tag) who rang me up appeared to be bothered by me shopping in the restaurant as he rushed through my order can threw my change into my hand and his tone was very abrupt and non welcoming. Being a black male in South Florida, I should not be used to that, but I unfortunately am. His tone and demeanor changed with the female customer behind me. Back to my order, I had ordered a large TropiChop, but received a regular. There was no mango tea, and when I asked the employee filling ice about it, all he could say was "no english". The whole sauce station was trashed and no one was helping the lady clean it up. They also appear to be nonchalant about customers using water cups to steal soda for their kids. I am a Store Manager of a business that sells food, and what I witnessed in their is simply incomprehensible. If I ran my place like that, I'd either be out of a job, or shut down for health violations. There are two other locations in the Homestead/Florida City area, and the experiences are the same as mentioned above. In other words, you've lost my business unless I am north of the Dade County line, where the chicken is fresh, the people are friendly, and the international language of business (English) is spoken. read more

Pollo Tropical in Homestead off of Campbell Drive and US1 The line is always out the door and they ALWAYS only have ONE girl at the register during lunch time. How does that make any since!!??? One of your busiest times of day... They are very unorganized! AND They have the WORST customer service! I decided to go in for lunch and wait in line for 10 minutes, and then stood there for 20 MINUTES to get my food... and then I got the wrong order. I explained to the girl (an assistant manager) at the counter that I had received the wrong order and she mumbles under her breath IN SPANISH because I explained to her that the order was incorrect. Love pollo, always have but they have been falling off of their "A-game" recently. Ordered two tropichops. Once I was able to revise my order in the parking lot I realized one tropichop was full and looked decent. My other tropichop order was maybe filled with 1/4 cup rice and 4 pieces of chicken. Drove back through the drive thru and was told thats usually how they come now and that she would put a little more rice but no more chicken. Management & employees need to be more on top of how consistent and accurate their meals are coming out as. I also asked if I had silverware and was told yes since a woman had walked all the way to the window from her parked car ( while I waited for my order to be handed to me) claiming she hadn't received any when she just went through the drive thru prior to me. If you want to go to a good Pollo Tropical DON'T GO HERE, THIS IS THE WORST. We pulled up on a Sunday evening and ordered 1/4 chicken meal , white meat. We were told they had no breast only breast for the tropichop. This made no sense . Do you have whole chicken meals? Yes just not 1/4 chicken white. WHAT? You do realize if you cut the chicken in 4th you get a 2 breast and 2 wings? She went silent I don't think math was her strong point or the anatomy of a chicken for that matter. Subjects you might want to he versed on if you work for a restaurant that sells chicken. She responded with the same we only have breast for Tropichop. Unfortunately this is not my first issue with this Pollo Tropical . The staff is untrained and they can never get the order right . Twice in the past they tried short changing me , today was just the last straw . I completed my order and went to publix to pick up drinks . Oh look WHOLE ROTISSERIE CHICKEN FOR 7.99. I will never go to this location again the service was terrible. I went today August 9, 2018 at 5:00 PM and had the worse experience. I was ordering food to take to work as I work as a correctional OFFICER. I asked the employee in the register if I can get a discount she said that the discount is for police OFFICER only. Then I asked to speak to the manager and the manager only try to give me 10 percent instead of 50 which I've never had an issue getting at any other location. When I spoke to the manager and employee they said it's for police OFFICER. I am very offended because I am am an officer I had to correct both of them I walked away and will never return to this location the service was poor and left a bad taste in my mouth. The women at the register seemed bothered by my request like she had an issue with me being a correctional officer.
