So I went in to get a whole chicken and some sides.... This is one of my favorite chicken places to eat... hot off the grill.... The place was fairly busy as it usually is but it was good and quick service. Ordered the whole chicken family meal and a chicken soup, everything was delicious and warm, received extra plates and utensils and napkins without having to ask... Thank you!!! The food was very delicious and the sauce especially the cilantro sauce is one of my favorites as well the curry mustard sauce pairs very well with the chicken. I recall when times are busy waiting around 30-40 minutes for my order so just be prepared that it might not be a quick stop. In my opinion, the Tropichop bowls are better than the sandwiches on their menu. The sandwiches aren't bad - just not as good as the Tropichop bowls. I am very disappointed tonight. My mom and I ordered a 1/4 lb dark meat platter, tropichop and large plantains. I did not receive dark meat and the meat was UNDERCOOKED. The plantains were BURNED, pitch black. We have come to this location many times before and never had an issue. I got grossed out by our food and will not be ordering from here again. read more

I ordered at 400pm for curbside pickup at 530pm. I got here at 530pm and clicked the imhere tab on the app. I waited for over 5 mins in my car and then I went inside to inquire about my order. The customer service at this establishment is a joke. The manager just walks by you and doesn't acknowledge you at all. Finally at 543pm i was able to ask one of the workers about my order. IT HADN'T EVEN BEEN MADE YET. Why bother having curbside pickup or order ahead if it isn't going to be ready for when you get here. I then asked to cancel my order and get refunded and she said I have to do it online. So here I wait for my order..... Pollo Tropical is not usually a go-to place for me. Not for any particular reason, maybe because I'm not a native Floridian? I did stop at this location in need of lunch and did have a pleasant experience. We wanted the drive-thru and the line wrapped around the building. Bad sign for us so we went inside. The inside was pretty clean, you know, typical fast food cleanliness levels. What I do like about the interior were the colors. I felt like I was on vacation with the color scheme they came up with with those blue's and green's. The line inside moved a little slowly, but we got to the counter and were greeted by a really friendly cashier. I ordered the chicken quesadilla wrap and some boiled yuca. Both were good. I liked the chipotle sauce in the wrap and the boiled yuca was pretty yummy. Those two items with a drink ran me $7. I thought, "why don't I come here more" Totally reasonable cost for a quick lunch. Homestead is kind of far from me just for a trip to Pollo, but I'll have to add some more Pollo in my life! read more

What a joke. 3rd time in a row I get a baby chicken piece that's barely bigger than the fork... Ordered Togo. No silverware No napkins No sauce (why even ask?) I had a bad experience recently at the Pollo Tropical Location. It was between 8 and 9pm on Wednesday. My family had not eaten dinner yet...and I had just been driven out of getting an MRI on my foot. We decided to pick up some Pollo tropical for ourselves and my brother who was waiting back at home. My mother and I both had the chicken, rice and black beans. My brother wanted two quesadilla wraps...while they were making it we noted the person preparing our food use one small chicken breast for both wraps. The wraps were small, smaller then they have ever given us before. We were mad at pointed it out to the prep person and she looked at us and laughed at our face. She told us that each wrap got one chicken breast...and we told her no that's not what happened. The manager then jumped in and said oh well actually each wrap is only supposed to get "una cucharadita" of chicken or translated into English...one teaspoon. One teaspoon?!!? Wow what a rip off! I do not like to leave bad reviews but unfortunately today I felt it was necessary. I came to this Pollo to get some lunch for the family. There were 2 cars ahead of me and no cars behind me. I ordered $34 worth of stuff and when I get to the window to pay and my card goes decline. I had no clue why so I called my wife to see what was going on and she locked it on the app so she wouldn't use it but didn't realize i had the card. She was unlocking it on the app and I told the cashier give me one minute she is unlocking it now. The cashier instantly began frustrated and started compliant in Spanish that they timer is running up because he is calling for the card. I know that drive thru they have a timer that records how fast each customer takes at the window. This is where I felt my complaint is justified. She called the manager Yuzelkis (I'm not sure the spelling) and the manager said hey you have to move you can't stay here in the driver thru. So i said it should take one minute because she is already unlocking it as we speak. There were no cars behind me. She said I don't know what to tell you have to drive around you something you can't stay here. But in a very rude tone. My card was unlocked by this time already. I just drove off and didn't even take the food. I just think the owner or upper management should know how the manager behaved. I know they want to show that they have fast wait times and I would've had no problem going around but it was the attitude that I wanted to report. We all known Pollo Tropical is fast food. However, it sure tastes better than a quick trip to McDonald's or Burger King. I don't eat fast food often. Meanwhile, when I do I don't mind swinging through this place. The food tastes much healthier and better than what's microwaved or fried at its peers. It's refreshing to walk up to the register at this place and see the chicken, pork, ribs, etc being grilled over a fire in front of you. What impressed me most, however, was the service here. The staff was happy, energetic, helpful and acted like they wanted to be there. It brought out that Caribbean vibe that's suppose to come with Pollo Tropical. Kudos to the staff. Excellent job. Maybe I was only this impressed because we arrived starving and fresh off a plane from NY at 10:30 AM, but experiencing Pollo Tropical was a very important spiritual rite of passage. Its closest equivalent in the Northeast is Boston Market, but aside from the chicken and pricing that's about it for common ground. I got 1/4 white meat with yellow rice and boiled yuca with garlic sauce and destroyed it. The chicken was pretty good, not oversalted, and it came with a wondrously squishy roll. There is a huge buffet-style sauce bar offering among other things catsup, several variations of BBQ sauce, and CURRY MUSTARD. No chance of suffering through a bland meal. This particular location had VERY CLEAN restrooms but again, 10:30 AM. No women around to pee on the toilet seats yet, and the staff were still mopping when we got there. If New York ever gets a Pollo Tropical, I will eat there every day. read more

I ordered a whole chicken and a original chicken sandwich from drive through. When I reach home, there wasn't any chicken sandwich in the bag. It was my daughter's dinner. I drove back to pollo tropical. I spoke with Theresa, the manager. She instructed her employee to warm up the sandwich that was left on one of the countertops. When Theresa gave me the sandwich, I told that I needed a fresh sandwich; which she did. However, when I got back home it was a pork sandwich; which my daughter didn't want. Theresa was very unprofessional. She gave me attitude and NEVER apologized. She made me feel I was the problem. I called the restaurant multiple times. No one EVER picked up the phone. The food was good as is typical for this chain. The location seemed to be good but the clientele - not so much. There were a couple panhandlers waiting by the entrance which was a turn-off. There were dirty tables and just wasn't that clean in general. I'm glad were were in and out of there pretty quick. Not sure if I would visit that location again. I might try somewhere else first. Fortunately there was Pollo Tropical on our way back back from Key West. After a four hour drive going 40 mph on the long 100 miles Overseas Highway of Key West, we were very hungry. We ordered a couple Cuban wraps, Sweet Plantains and a combo plate called Trios. The Trios came with Chicken Wings, Ribs and Pork and 2 sides of Black Beans and Yellow Rice. The food was amazing as always and for less than 20 dollars we had a great meal. We wished we had this restaurant chain in Southern California. We will miss is it. read more
