It's in a sketchy area but there are huge bright parking lights illuminating every part of the store including the drive-thru and parking lot, so every safe at night. The staff was friendly and helpful. Now, the food was amazing! Steak bowl with rice (plus garlic cilantro sauce)? Delicious and devoured in 5 gulps. Guava cheesecake? A must try, even for the not so big cheesecake fans. Plantains? Awesome. And who doesn't like plantains that can be purchased in a drive thru. This is the place to go!! I go there so often now. Their pork is awesome!! Wish every store served the red beans instead of just black. But the chicken and the pork for me is just amazing!! The steak with chimichurri sauce is lovely as well. And you have to get the garlic cilantro sauce. Delicious!! read more

I have lived in Florida all my life I moved from Miami to Orlando in December and let me tell you that this is the worst Pollo Tropical I have ever been to. I gave them to stars because the chicken was good but the sides were horrible. Everything tasted like old oil. I had never had to ask for refund till today. (Has to drive all the way back from home). THE MOST disgusting Cuban Sandwiches we've ever had! Paid $18 & change for 2 Cuban sandwiches they were dry, no condiments on them at all. Supposed to be mustard on them, no mustard. The sandwiches were just thrown together very sloppy. The bread wasn't buttered before they put it on the sandwich press. It was barely pressed. This place is the greatest! Fast food that doesn't taste or feel like fast food. My favorite is the Grilled Chicken Tropichop with half yellow rice w/veggies, and half lettuce. I top it with cooked onions, tomatoes and corn. Then add some raw onions and a ton of the Cilantro Garlic sauce from the self-service bar. There are other sauces and toppings available too. I could drink that Cilantro Garlic sauce though because I love it so much! Even my friend who hates cilantro tried it and loved it too! She said the garlic must have cancelled the Cilantro. For anyone visiting Florida I highly recommend you visit any pollo tropical and try this fast food chain. I discovered this a couple of years ago and I never skip this restaurant when we're in Florida. The family special meal is so worth the price it can easily feed a family or 4 or 5 for no more than $25!! They previously did serve ribs but now I think they're promotion is steak as of now which was ok, a little small for the portion but still good. Please bring back the ribs they were delicious! Any meat tastes like it came right off the grill! They also offer many side sauces so don't forgot to grab you 2 of each. The pork is one of the best also..........yes at a fast food chain so grab a large order! The marinade must be one of a kind because all the meat has tons of flavor with a grill taste. Shrimp skewers at this location were not the best I have had but still good. What's new to me is the balsamic tomatoes and omg they were fantastic!! Macaroni and cheese was a winner for the kids. Fresh, inexpensive, and pretty tasty for fast food. My salad was light and fresh, no mushy vegetables. Wraps were also fresh and crisp. Kids 'chicken' meal had grilled chicken, not fried, which my son was not too happy about, but he ate it, and liked it. Wish we had a place like this in Seattle for fresh, quick fast food. Love their food. 1/4 chicken with white rice and black beans is almost perfection. The perfect size. Perfection would be their roast pork tropichop. I get it white white rice grilled onions, and peppers. The sauce bar is amazing. I load up on the fresh salsa and cilantro garlic sauce. The guava bbq sauce is to die for. I tend to go inside just so I can load up on the sauces. This location does not tend to be the cleanest of their locations. Never see anyone cleaning the tables. The location always is busy and has long lines employees are not very personable. Maybe just overworked. Bathrooms never clean. Food is good though. read more
