I really have no idea why I keep going back to this location. They are all very nice but other then that there is not much to say. I'm sure they are busy but every time I go, the team gives the impression that they don't want to work. Curry mustard is my favorite sauce... Today they had none. In the words of the Most Interesting Man in the World, I don't always eat fast food, but when I do, it's because A) I'm too lazy to cook (doesn't happen too often) and B) it sells local cuisine. I used to frequent Pollo Tropical years ago in Puerto Rico and figured I get some take-out. Well... First with the good. So, the chicken gets 3.5 stars in my book. Crispy crust, very flavorful, very juicy. It's good stuff. Last time I went to Pollo Tropical there was no salsa bar, this one is a nice way to complement the meal. Their curry mustard is a fairly mild sauce but it goes well with the chicken, same goes for their fresh salsa (soft flavors, but it's not meant to overpower the flavor of the chicken). Caribbean ribs: 3 stars. Nothing too Caribbean about them, but I felt like eating ribs and they were solid. They go well with the guava BBQ sauce. Now the bad. The black beans: 1 star. These are probably the worst beans I've had. Seriously guys, you're in Miami, Florida, not Miami, Ohio. This is the Cuban capital of America. Get your beans right!! You have no excuse. No flavor whatsoever. Nothing. They tasted like they came right out of a can. Service: 2 stars. Very slow moving line. I asked for a cup of water and some garlic sauce and received neither. Overall, I'm disappointed in this location. A lot of the menu items seemed enticing (mojo pulled pork), but you can count on me not trying them. Drive thru is convenient on the go. And if you absolutely cannot leave your car you have drive thru. There is also indoor seating although if you sit there long enough you may smell like roasted chicken after. Its basically Spanish fast food but its better quality than mc donalds, BK OR taco bell. At the counter you can see probably 100 whole chickens turning on those roasters (i think that's what they are called) cooking slowly...and the chicken is made the same day you eat it. What do they have you ask: chicken, mojo pork(shredded pork), rice, black beans, yucca, fries, sweet plantains, soda. I mean basically a typical Hispanic dish. They do have wraps and sandwiches as well but no beef. I would compare it to a chicken kitchen except its more Latin. The Pros: -its chicken...moderately healthy and the flavor is ok -cheap: the 1/4 chicken meal is one of the best deals in town -open late: its amazing that even in S. I've eaten at some really good Pollo Tropical locations before. It's typically pretty good quality fast food that isn't terrible for you if you order right. This location however is just awful. The place is filthy most of the time, very crowded, and the service is slooooooooooow, sometimes so much that I almost just walk out and lose my money. I reported it and I was told somebody would call me back so when they didn't I called again they said they would escalated that was two or three calls ago. Everything was ok until we received or food. One of four plates was missing, and when I asked about it, one of the server started to tell us that we already took the plate. Team leader Beatrice has a very bad attitude to guest. Don't try to ask her a question she will not even hear you out and brush you away. My family and I were missing 3 items from our order. Waited 20 mins for them to make the missing items for them to give it to another guest. Within the 20min of waiting I watched team leader Beatrice speak inappropriately to a number of guest who are spending their hard earned money on this place. If you are getting here as they open they will most likely not be open at the time they say. Their hours are 10 am 1 am. But they do not open at 10 they make you wait outside so if you are on a lunch break don't come here. Food is usually good but if you are going to have hours starting at 10 they need to open at 10. We were surprise how good the food was for a "fast food" type of place. The food is not only good but it is pretty healthy compared to other "Fast Foods". This place is very conveniently located for us as we live at the Flamingo South Beach. We can easily walk there. The price for 2 adults and 2 kids is just a little more than Mac Donald's but the food is healthier. Real salads and skinless chicken are options. I would recommend this place as a healthier fast food alternative. The only issue is that the parking is tiny and the drive-thru is difficult for larger cars. read more

Love Pollo! It's nice having a (somewhat) healthy fast food option. This location is fine. I've never had any issues with the service/quality here. It's also usually fairly clean. Plus, their chicken is just damn good. I like that they grill it in the restaurant, rather than reheating frozen, pre-cooked chicken like so many other fast food places. read more
