My husband ordered a #14 and specifically asked if it came with pickles. The young man taking the order said he didn't know, so he went to ask someone. When he returned, he told us it came with lettuce and tomatoes only, so my husband ordered it. When we received our food, we noticed the sandwich was wrapped differently than expected. After looking at the receipt, we realized we had been charged for a more expensive wrap instead of the sandwich we ordered. We asked an employee about it, and she told us the order had been entered as a #18 instead of a #14. What was frustrating is that she was standing right there when we placed the order. Rather than apologizing for the mistake and correcting it, there was a lot of confusion and back-and-forth due to communication issues. Eventually, she brought out another sandwich, but it was still wrong. We had literally pointed to the #14 on the menu, yet she quickly grabbed a sandwich without verifying the order. This one even had pickles on it. To make matters worse, when my husband took a bite, the sandwich was cold, hard, and clearly had been sitting for quite some time. Mistakes happen, and we understand that. What disappointed us most was the lack of attention to correcting the error and making things right. The entire experience left us extremely frustrated. The kicker is it's been 20 plus years since I've been back because when they first opened I didn't arrested for the food. This place will not include any sauces or extras with delivery orders. It doesn't matter if it is included with the meal or if you pay extra for it, you will not get anything. I also ordered all dark and got mixed, my wife ordered a Caesar salad and got black beans. We did get some pulled pork, not sure why that was but I would rather have had what I ordered. And this happens every time I order from here. I guess it's my fault for expecting them to ever do better. read more

Love Pollo Tropical. I always get the Drumstick / Thigh Kids meal for under $7! You get a regular size thigh and drumstick with choice of red beans or rice I always opted for yellow rice with the carrots and peas in it. Also a Medium drink and a Cookie of a day and the cookie is huge! The chicken here is delicious ROASTED chicken. The seasonings is on point and the chicken is cooked well. The yellow rice is also delicious not too salty it compliments the roasted chicken well. The desserts can be tempting such as the flan but I have not tried it yet because by the time I am done with my meal I am stuffed. I cannot even eat the cookie at this point because I am full. The service here is good UNTIL you get to the DRIVE THRU in which one of the young gals could not refill my drink from the window she asked me to go inside and get the refill in which I insisted until she gave up and finally refilled my drink. That lost a star on my review. They are known here for the Roasted Chicken so if you order outside of that then you are on your own LOL I have seen many diners order the family pack to go. Why wasn't this not on screen menu? Meanwhile in the background? 4 employees behind the counter just joking and laughing. Restaurant? About 6 people dining, not busy at all. They claimed they didn't have the ingredients. Fine. Then please just take down that menu. Food. His bowl, he said, was just OK. My chicken? No breast. A wing, had that been on grill awhile. The reason for the low rating is because of the customer service of several of your other employees. They have zero personality and often get the order wrong. For example items are missing or the order is just plain wrong and needs fixing. There is no apology and often get the impression that I'm not wanted in there. I've been ignoring it for awhile now but just so you know I'm not coming back to this location ever again. The noise is not coming from its customers, it's coming from the exhaust fans in the kitchen. I noticed a couple of times while I was placing my order the young lady could not hear her colleagues behind her that we're trying to get her attention. The food I had at this location was very good, my chicken was nice and moist, just like everybody likes it. My rice and black beans were very good, and so were my platanos. Overall the food was very good, all the employees I encountered were very nice, customer service was good when they could hear me. The food taste really good here. I was really looking forward to coming here since they closed all businesses here in NJ. I had ordered their pork dish and did enjoy it. The only thing I did regret was to tell them to put the black beans on the side because it made my rice watered down. The rating is 2 stars because there are lots of negative things and perhaps it was only this branch in Florida. Its 90 plus degree with humidity, the place has no AC, wtf. The tables aren't clean. The condiments stand has little to nothing available depending on which condiments and dressings you are looking for. They have an employee supposedly cleaning the tables, sweeping the floors and checking on the condiments area. I thought once the teenage employee saw that there is nothing left on certain condiments, that he will go refill it. He left and as I waited with my family to eat, I turned around few minutes later and spot the employee sitting at a corner texting on his cell. The tables and floor is still dirty so I have no freakin clue what the boy was cleaning or in this case wasn't cleaning. I came in today for a quick lunch to go. The woman at the register wasn't too warm and welcoming. It felt like she was kind of yelling short phrases at us to get us through the line fast, even though there was only one other couple behind us. There was no "Hi how are you" or "have a good day", it was all more like "What do you want" "ok what else" and then she said the total and asked for the next in line. I give three stars because they got the order right and it came out very fast. I have an issue with basically every other Pollo I've been to because the order is ALWAYS wrong, but thankfully not here. The sauce/condiments area needed a wipe down but I always love that cilantro garlic sauce and the pineapple rum sauce. The restaurant could've been a little cleaner and from standing in the middle of the restaurant, I couldn't find any garbage can anywhere until I went outside. I used to get the chicken meal and liked it a lot for its unique flavor. Early in the year I ordered the same and the chicken looked like a torch burned the top to charcoal. I thought it was an accident but apparently that's the way it's done now even in Oviedo. I don't mind a little I just can't do blackened chicken. I normally don't like pork however, I tried my wife's pork which was very good, reminded me little like roast beef. so, I guess it's pork from now on. This location can vary from making delicious tropichops (basically an AMAZING bowl of your combination of meat, beans, rice and veggies) to mediocre tropichops missing out on an adequate portion of meat.
